Vehicle exports in the three months of 2023 totaled 112,244 units, up 3.9% year-on-year.
According to ANFAVEA, despite the improved numbers in March, the accumulated production in the first quarter is still about 50 thousand units below the pre-pandemic levels. "In these first three months we had eight plant shutdowns and two shift cancellations, somewhat similar to the shutdowns seen in early 2022. The difference is that last year the reason was only the lack of components, while now there are other factors causing collective vacations, such as the cooling of demand," explained Márcio de Lima Leite, president of Anfavea, noting that there are new shutdowns announced for April.
