Ford recalling 2.24 million Explorer SUVs over trim pieces, 1.9 million in U.S.
On January 24, Ford announced it is recalling 1,889,110 Explorer SUVs in the U.S. because of an exterior A-pillar trim piece that can fly off while the vehicle is driving and create a hazard for other drivers.
The recall covers Explorers from the 2011 through 2019 model years.
