Increasing production of engines compliant with China lll emissions standards
- Effective July 1, 2008, the Chinese government implemented the China lll emissions regulations (Chinese version of the Euro lll standards) for new vehicles produced in China. Based on the tighter control, the company stepped up production of engines that meet the new standards.

Raising capacity to manufacture Aowei CA6DL diesel engines
The Company completed a project, which it had been working on since October 2005, to expand its facility that produces Aowei CA6DL series diesel engines compliant with China III exhaust emission standards. As a result, the company now has the capacity to build 50,000 CA6DL engines. (From a press release on June 23, 2008)

Production of Aoshen CA6DM2
In December 2008, FAW Jiefang Automotive Co., Ltd. Wuxi Diesel Engine Works started producing Aoshen CA6DM2 11-liter diesel engines for heavy-duty vehicles. Taking the design concept of the Aowei engine one step further, these new engines offer even greater technological advances in terms of fuel efficiency and environmental responsiveness. Incorporating a four-valve, overhead camshaft, the first of its kind produced in China, the engine has obtained eight patents in areas including engine brake technology and the design for cylinder heads with double walled cylinder jackets. Some of the other features are the central cooling system and filter modules. The engine is available in four power levels, namely, 350, 370, 390, and 420 horsepower. Supplying products to King Long United (Suzhou)
The Company has won increased business with King Long United (Suzhou) to supply engines compliant with the Euro lll emissions standards. The Company now supplies approximately 98 percent of all China III-compliant engines equipped on Suzhou King Long's vehicles. In 2007, the percentage stood at 75.5 percent.
