Exploring the software strategy of Sony Honda Mobility

Summary

  Sony Group Corporation (Sony) and Honda Motor Co., Ltd. (Honda) announced in 2022 that they would establish a new company, Sony Honda Mobility Inc. (SHM), to jointly develop EVs. And in January 2023, a prototype vehicle of the SHM’s new “Afeela” brand was unveiled at the CES 2023 in Las Vegas, USA. The company plans to start accepting orders in 2025 and begin shipments in the U.S. starting in the spring of 2026.
