Electrification, intelligent technology, and globalization

Summary

 Amid the trends toward electrification and intelligentization, the SAIC Group is transforming itself from a traditional manufacturing company to a smart mobility company. Through the creation of technology systems for BEVs, HVs, and FCVs, SAIC Motor Corp., Ltd. (SAIC) has partnered with technology companies such as Huawei, Momenta, Horizon (Horizon Robotics), ByteDance, and OPPO to delve deeper into areas such as intelligent driving, car-smartphone integration, and smart cockpits. SAIC will also promote its global strategy and standardize product exports to develop overseas markets through a "Global + Local" strategic model. Going forward, the company aims to commercialize L4 autonomous driving in 2026, and to make the Galaxy full-stack architecture of Z-ONE Technology Co., Ltd., a subsidiary of SAIC Group, compatible with large-scale AI models, thereby achieving a deep interaction and symbiosis between people and cars.

 Great Wall Motor Company Limited (GWM) said at the forum that exports of Chinese cars are shifting from having a price advantage to improved quality, with the price per vehicle rising from USD 12,000 in 2018 to USD 18,000 by 2024. With "Go Long. Go With The World" at the core of its globalization strategy, the company will develop a "ONE GWM" brand. GWM classifies the market into four categories based on the prevalence of NEVs in each country, with strategies for product differentiation, promoting a global mainstay product strategy, and developing a long-term perspective and globalization.
