What Toyota's Arene OS is aiming for

  This is the second of a series of reports explaining the software strategies being pursued by finished vehicle manufacturers. This report will focus on the Arene OS, which Toyota Motor Corporation (Toyota) aims to introduce in 2026. Arene OS goes beyond the usual concept of an "OS" (operating system) to include a development environment and even a platform to provide services. This report explores the aims of Toyota's vehicle OS development, which is proceeding under the leadership of the new president.
