Summary
The Advanced Clean Transportation (ACT) Expo 2025 took place at the Anaheim Convention Center in Anaheim, California, U.S. from April 28 through May 1, 2025, after being hosted in Las Vegas in 2024. Compared to the last time ACT Expo was hosted in Anaheim in 2023, the 2025 exhibition spanned twice the exhibit space, with more than 500 exhibitors and partners and over 12,000 attendees.

Despite the bankruptcy of notable companies in the hydrogen commercial vehicle industry including Nikola and Hyzon, several companies featured hydrogen-related announcements and technology reveals at ACT Expo 2025. Bosch featured its Fuel Cell Power Module Compact 300 system and showed a model of its new CryoPump refueling platform. cellcentric revealed additional details about its future NextGen fuel cell system. EKPO presented its NM12 and next-generation NM20 fuel cell stack modules while Symbio showed its StackPack 75 fuel cell system. Forvia displayed hydrogen storage systems for a wide range of applications.
For OEMs, Honda's next-generation fuel cell module made its North American debut, being showcased with its current fuel cell module and Class 8 fuel cell truck concept. Toyota displayed its third-generation fuel cell system and showed two commercial vehicles using its Gen 2.5 fuel cell system. Hyundai outlined how its partnership with Plus aims to develop an autonomous hydrogen-based freight network based on Hyundai's XCIENT Fuel Cell truck.
Beyond hydrogen, two OEMs displayed alternative fuel technologies. Daimler showcased the Freightliner Cascadia Natural Gas truck utilizing the Cummins X15N natural gas engine. Blue Bird unveiled a propane-powered stripped chassis for Class 5 and 6 commercial vehicles.
This report is the first of two reports focusing on the content shown at ACT Expo 2025. This report emphasizes hydrogen technologies and related announcements from OEMs and suppliers, including Bosch, cellcentric, EKPO, Symbio, Forvia, Hyundai, Toyota, and Honda.
