Indian new vehicle sales increased by 13.9% in September, 2017  

Indian new vehicle sales in September 2017 were up 13.9% y/y to 387,150 units versus 340,049 units in September 2016.
PVs (passenger vehicle, UV and van) sales were up 11.3% to 309,955 units. CVs (M&HCVs and LCVs) sales were up 25.3% to 77,195 units.
By vehicle type, passenger vehicle sales were up 6.9% to 208,656 units versus 195,259 units in the year previous. Utility vehicle (UVs) sales were also up 26.2% to 84,374 units. Vans sales were up 3.7 % to 16,925 units.
Medium and heavy commercial vehicle (M&HCV) sales were up 25.6% to 31,086 units. Light commercial vehicle (LCVs) sales were up 25.0% to 46,109 units.
Among automakers, Maruti-Suzuki was up 10.3% and Hyundai was up 17.4%. Tata Motors was up 25.6% and Mahindra sales were up 21.6% in September 2017.
