History

Mar. 1935 Established Kanto Heavy Industrial Co., Ltd. in Tokyo for the production and sales of munitions, parts for automobiles and aircraft, and metal containers.
Feb. 1946 Changed the Company name to Futaba Industrial Co., Ltd. and started to produce fishing net machines and furniture made from pipes in Naka-Machi, Okazaki City, Aichi Pref.
May 1948 Started production of automotive parts and welding machines.
May 1957 Established Nagoya Plant.
Sep. 1959

Established Midori Plant in conjunction with its expansion of automotive parts production.

Oct. 1966 Shifted headquarters and Okazaki Plant to present location and expanded business operations.
Nov. 1968 Listed on the Second Section of the Nagoya Stock Exchange.
May. 1969 Built Anjo Plant as a special plant for automotive mufflers.
June 1971 Built Mutsumi Plant as a designated plant to produce for office equipment components.
Mar. 1980 Built Tabara Plant in conjunction with the expansion of automotive parts production.

Dec. 2000 Futaba Industrial Co., Ltd. announced the conclusion of a joint business agreement with US Tenneco Automotive in the UK. The business was established in December with capital investment of 51% by Futaba and 49% by Tenneco.
Oct. 2001 Established Futaba Indiana of America Corporation (currently a consolidated subsidiary) in Indiana, USA.
Feb. 2002 Established Tian Jin Shuang Mechanical Industrial Company (currently a consolidated subsidiary) in Tian Jin City, China.
Mar. 2002 Established FIO Automotive Canada Corporation (currently a consolidated subsidiary) in Ontario, Canada.
Dec. 2002 Established Futaba Czech S.R.O (currently a consolidated subsidiary) in the Czech republic.
Jan. 2004 Established Tian jin shuang mechanical industrial (currently a consolidated subsidiary) in Tianjin Development Area in China.
Mar. 2004 Acquired Ryowa Sheet and Metal Processing Co. Ltd. (currently a consolidated subsidiary) located in Chiryu-shi, Aichi prefecture.
Apr. 2004 Changed the name of Ryowa Sheet and Metal Processing Co. Ltd. to Futaba Chiryu Corp.
Oct. 2004 Established Guangzhou Futaba Auto Parts Co., Ltd. in Guangzhou, China (a consolidated subsidiary).
Nov. 2004 Closed down the Nagoya plant.
Dec. 2004 Established Futaba Industrial UK Ltd. in Derbyshire, UK (a consolidated subsidiary).
Feb. 2005 Established Futaba Industrial Texas Corp. in Texas, USA (a consolidated subsidiary).
Aug. 2005 Established Dongguan Futaba Metal Products Co., Ltd. in Dongguan, China., which is currently a consolidated subsidiary.
Apr. 2006 Merged and absorbed Futaba Chiryu Corp., reorganizing it as its Chiryu plant.
