Mexican vehicle sales increase 24.1% in December, increase 7.0% for full-year 2022
On January 4, Mexico’s Institito Nacional de Estadistica y Geografia (INEGI) reported sales of 120,862 light vehicles in December 2022, representing a 24.1% increase from the 97,365 sales in December 2021.
In 2022, Mexican light vehicle sales increased 7.0% to 1,086,060 unites.
In 2022, Nissan sold 168,940 units, a decrease of 17.2% from the previous year.
General Motors sales of 165,117 units in 2022 had increased 29.7% from 2021.
Volkswagen Group sold 109,136 units, a decrease of 16.1%, and Toyota sold 96,387 units, an increase of 5.8%.
Kia sales of 89,140 units in 2022 increased 8.7% from the last year.
Stellantis sales increased 12.9% to 74,417 units, while Mazda sales increased 2.9% to 48,275 units in 2022.
MG sold 48,112 units, an increase of 194.1% from the last year.
Ford Motor sales increased 1.5% to 41,357 units, while Hyundai sales increased 11.1% to 41,357 units in 2022.
JAC sales were up 99.4% to 16,357 vehicles, built by Giant Motors.

Mexican vehicle sales jump 15.4% in November
On December 2, Mexico’s Institito Nacional de Estadistica y Geografia (INEGI) reported sales of 95,568 light vehicles in November, representing a 15.4% increase from the 82,829 sales in November 2021.
General Motors sold 14,496 units in November, an increase of 89.5% from the previous year.
Ford sold 3,937 units, a decrease of 8.7% and Stellantis sold 6,831 units, an increase of 53.3%.
Volkswagen Group sales of 5,367 units in November had decreased 48.9% from the 10,510 units sold same month in 2021.
Nissan sold 14,235 units in November, a decrease 0.2% from the same month last year.
Toyota sales increased 25.1% to 9,374 units, while Mazda sales decreased 14.4% to 4,123 units in November.
Honda sold 3,551 units, a decrease of 12.3% from the same month last year.
Kia sold 7,803 units in November, an increase of 14.8% from 2021, while Hyundai sales increased 38.2% to 3,966 units.
JAC sold 1,518 units in November, a 68.1% increase from the same month in 2021.

Mexican vehicle sales rise 18.9% in October
On November 3, Mexico’s Institito Nacional de Estadistica y Geografia (INEGI) reported sales of 91,101 light vehicles in October, representing an 18.9% increase from the 76,640 sales in October 2021.
General Motors sold 13,408 units in October, an increase of 89.8% from the previous year.
Volkswagen Group sales of 6,726 units in October had decreased 35.4% from the same month in 2021.
Ford sold 3,520 units, a decrease of 3.9% and Stellantis sold 8,259 units, an increase of 56.6%.
Nissan sales of 10,866 units in October decreased 29.4% from the same month last year.
Toyota sales increased 41.9% to 7,319 units while Mazda sales increased 27.3% to 5,623 units in October.
Honda sold 4,113 units, an increase of 26.0% from the same month last year.
Kia sold 7,406 units in October, an increase of 5.2% from 2021 while Hyundai sales increased 79.8% to 3,947 units.
JAC sold 1,613 units in October, an increase of 100.9%.

Mexican vehicle sales increase 11.6% in September
On October 4, Mexico’s Institito Nacional de Estadistica y Geografia (INEGI) reported sales of 85,842 light vehicles in September, representing an 11.6% increase from the 76,930 sales in September 2021.
Nissan sold 10,807 units in September, a decrease of 27.1% from the previous year.
Volkswagen Group sales of 7,176 units in September had decreased 30.9% from the same month in 2021.
General Motors sold 14,190 units, an increase of 96.5% from last year.
Ford sold 3,222 units in September, an increase of 8.0% from 2021, while Stellantis sales increased 5.2% to 6,130 units in September.
Toyota sold 5,046 units, a decrease of 34.3%, and Honda sold 3,240 units, a decrease of 17.2% from the same month last year.
Kia sales increased 4.0% to 7,405 units, while Hyundai sales increased 26.6% to 3,354 units.
JAC sold 1,430 vehicles, a 73.3% increase from last September.

Mexican vehicle sales increase 16.5% in August
On September 2, Mexico’s Institito Nacional de Estadistica y Geografia (INEGI) reported sales of 91,124 light vehicles in August, representing a 16.5% increase from the 78,235 sales in August 2021.
General Motors sold 13,958 units in August, an increase of 85.9% from the previous year.
Volkswagen Group sales of 9,146 units in August had decreased 8.4% from the same month in 2021.
Ford sold 3,577 units, an increase of 37.5%, and Stellantis sold 6,961 units, an increase of 41.4%.
Nissan sales of 13,082 units in August decreased 22.1% from the same month last year.
Toyota sales decreased 20.9% to 6,499 units, while Mazda sales increased 75.3% to 5,139 units in August.
Honda sold 4,078 units, an increase of 1.7% from the same month last year.
Kia sold 7,417 units in August, an increase of 5.6% from 2021, while Hyundai sales increased 25.8% to 3,744 units.
JAC sold 1,426 vehicles, a 73.9% increase from last August.

Mexican vehicle sales increase 1.2% in July
On August 3, Mexico’s Institito Nacional de Estadistica y Geografia (INEGI) reported sales of 83,137 light vehicles in July, representing a 1.2% increase from the 82,157 sales in July 2021.
General Motors sold 13,745 units in July, an increase of 51.3% from the previous year.
Volkswagen Group sales of 10,387 units in July had decreased 3.3% from the same month in 2021.
Ford sold 3,645 units, an increase of 25.3%, and Stellantis sold 4,993 units, an increase of 8.3%.
Nissan sales of 9,383 units in July decreased 42.7% from the same month last year.
Toyota sales decreased 21.6% to 6,728 units, while Mazda sales increased 8.6% to 4,290 units in July.
Honda sold 3,136 units, an increase of 4.7% from the same month last year.
Kia sold 7,409 units in July, an increase of 5.0% from 2021, while Hyundai sales decreased 12.2% to 3,127 units.
JAC sold 1,324 vehicles, a 116.3% increase from last July.

Mexican vehicle sales increase 1.9% in June
Mexico’s Institito Nacional de Estadistica y Geografia (INEGI) reported sales of 90,368 light vehicles in June, representing a 1.9% increase from the 88,688 sales in June 2021.
Nissan sales of 13,975 units in June decreased 19.6% from the same month last year.
General Motors sold 12,712 units in June, an increase of 12.6% from the previous year.
Volkswagen Group sales of 11,800 units in June had increased 0.6% from the same month in 2021.
Kia sold 7,407 units, an increase of 5.2%, and Stellantis sold 7,169 units, a decrease of 1.8%.
Toyota sales decreased 7.6% to 7,047 units, while MG sales increased 150.6% to 4,009 units in June.
Suzuki sold 3,591 units, an increase of 35.7% from the same month last year.
Ford sold 3,506 units in June, an increase of 0.7% from 2021, while Hyundai sales decreased 11.7% to 3,271 units.
Honda sales increased 6.9% to 3,161 units and JAC sold 1,261 vehicles, a 79.1% increase from last June.

Mexican vehicle sales increase 5.2% in May
On June 2, Mexico’s Institito Nacional de Estadistica y Geografia (INEGI) reported sales of 91,215 light vehicles in May, representing a 5.2% increase from the 86,710 sales in May 2021.
General Motors sold 12,282 units in May, an increase of 1.5% from the previous year.
Volkswagen Group sales of 11,163 units in May had decreased 4.6% from the same month in 2021.
Ford sold 3,234 units, an increase of 15.7%, and Stellantis sold 5,122 units, a decrease of 17.0%.
Nissan sales of 14,095 units in May decreased 17.7% from the same month last year.
Toyota sales increased 44.2% to 10,200 units, while Mazda sales decreased 44.7% to 2,138 units in May.
Honda sold 3,134 units, a decrease of 13.5% from the same month last year.
Kia sold 7,411 units in May, an increase of 10.5% from 2021, while Hyundai sales decreased 13.1% to 3,338 units.
MG sales significantly increased 315.1% to 4,350 units and JAC sold 1,258 vehicles, a 213.7% increase from last May.

Mexican vehicle sales almost flat with less than 1.0% decline in April
On May 4, Mexico’s Institito Nacional de Estadistica y Geografia (INEGI) reported sales of 83,459 light vehicles in April, only 829 units less than in April 2021, representing a 1.0% decrease from the 84,288 sales last April.
General Motors sold 13,766 units in April, an increase of 9.1% from the previous year.
Ford sold 2,764 units, a decrease of 16.4%, and Stellantis sold 5,544 units, an increase of 6.1%.
Volkswagen Group sales of 9,242 units in April had decreased 18.8% from the same month in 2021.
Nissan sales of 13,529 units in April decreased 22.1% from the same month last year.
Toyota sales increased 37.2% to 9,478 units, while Mazda sales decreased 88.1% to 533 units in April.
Honda sold 2,204 units, a decrease of 40.6% from the same month last year.
Kia sold 7,003 units in April, an increase of 8.6% from 2021, while Hyundai sales decreased 0.8% to 3,185 units.
JAC sold 1,120 vehicles, an increase of 171.1% from last year.

Mexican vehicle sales decrease 1.2% in March
On April 4, Mexico’s Institito Nacional de Estadistica y Geografia (INEGI) reported sales of 95,199 light vehicles in March, representing a 1.2% decrease from the same month in 2021.
General Motors sold 13,801 units in March, a decrease of 11.2% from the previous year.
Volkswagen Group sales of 9,987 units in March had decreased 18.7% from the same month in 2021.
Ford sold 3,080 units, a decrease of 11.6%, and Stellantis sold 7,897 units, an increase of 27.3%.
Nissan sales of 16,800 units in March decreased 20.0% from the same month last year.
Toyota sold 8,596 units, an increase of 19.0% from March 2021.
Honda sold 4,334 units, an increase of 1.4% from the same month last year, while Mazda sales decreased 17.8% to 3,879 units.
Kia sold 8,155 units in March, an increase of 13.2% from 2021, while Hyundai sales decreased 0.6% to 3,431 units.
With local production at Giant Motors, JAC sold 1,132 units in March, an 83.2% increase from the previous year.

Mexican vehicle sales down 3.9% in February
On March 2, Mexico’s Institito Nacional de Estadistica y Geografia (INEGI) reported 79,600 light vehicles sold in February, representing a 3.9% decrease from the same month in 2021.
General Motors sold 12,244 units in February, an increase of 2.5% from the previous year.
Volkswagen Group sales of 8,885 units in February had decreased 21.2% from the same month in 2021.
Ford sold 3,149 units, an increase of 8.9%, and Stellantis sold 3,647 units, a decrease of 29.5%.
Nissan sales of 15,157 units in February decreased 15.8% from the same month last year.
Toyota sold 6,574 units, a decrease of 3.4% from February 2021.
Honda sold 1,896 units, a decrease of 38.7% from the same month last year, while Mazda sales decreased 5.5% to 4,007 units.
Kia sold 7,018 units in February, an increase of 9.7% from 2021, while Hyundai sales increased 34.3% to 3,879 units.
With local production at Giant Motors, JAC sold 1,085 units in February, a 151.7% increase from the previous year.

Mexican vehicle sales down 3.8% in January
On February 2, Mexico’s Institito Nacional de Estadistica y Geografia (INEGI) reported sales of 78,585 light vehicles in January 2022, representing a 3.8% decrease from the same month in 2021.
General Motors sold 11,615 units in January, a decrease of 1.1% from the previous year.
Volkswagen Group sales of 7,991 units in January had decreased 22.9% from the same month in 2021.
Ford sold 3,323 units, an increase of 12.2%, and Stellantis sold 2,929 units, a decrease of 40.4%.
Nissan sales of 14,016 units in January decreased 20.9% from the same month last year.
Toyota sold 8,533 units, an increase of 8.9% from 2021, and Honda sold 3,348 units, a decrease of 3.0% from January 2021.
Mazda sales decreased by 7.8% compared to January 2021 to 3,474 units.
Kia sold 7,355 units in January, an increase of 9.8% from 2021, while Hyundai sales increased 6.5% to 2,801 units.
JAC sold 1,083 units in Mexico in January, 181.3% more than the same month in 2021.
