On January 5, Mexico’s Institito Nacional de Estadistica y Geografia (INEGI) reported sales of 97,365 light vehicles in December 2021, representing a 7.8% decrease from the 105,603 sales in December 2020.
In 2021, Mexican light vehicle sales increased 6.8% to 1,014,681 unites.
In 2021, Nissan sold 203,918 units, an increase of 4.9% from the previous year.
Volkswagen Group sales of 130,116 units in 2021 had increased 3.4% from 2020.
General Motors sold 127,300 units, a decrease of 15.3%, and Toyota sold 91,090 units, an increase of 19.0%.
Kia sales of 82,040 units in 2021 increased 11.4% from the last year.
Stellantis sales increased 12.2% to 65,909 units, while Mazda sales increased 1.7% to 46,901 units in 2021.
Honda sold 42,819 units, a decrease of 10.8% from the last year.
Ford Motor sales increased 9.7% to 40,763 units, while Hyundai sales increased 15.4% to 37,209 units in 2021.
BAIC sales were up 31.6% to 2,032 units in 2021, while JAC sales were up 92.1% to 8,203 vehicles, built by Giant Motors.

Mexican vehicle sales fall 13.5% in November
On December 2, Mexico’s Institito Nacional de Estadistica y Geografia (INEGI) reported sales of 82,829 light vehicles in November, representing a 13.5% decrease from the 95,707 sales in November 2020.
General Motors sold 7,651 units in November, a decrease of 45.8% from the previous year. Volkswagen Group sales of 10,510 units in November had decreased 18.2% from the same month in 2020.
Ford sold 4,314 units, an increase of 24.7%, and Stellantis sold 4,456 units, a decrease of 28.4%.
Nissan sales of 14,525 units in November decreased 21.2% from the same month last year.
Toyota sales decreased 3.4% to 7,496 units, while Mazda sales decreased 16.5% to 4,815 units in November.
Honda sold 4,050 units, a decrease of 5.3% from the same month last year.
Kia sold 6,800 units in November, a decrease of 13.0% from 2020, while Hyundai sales decreased 12.6% to 2,869 units.
JAC sold 903 units in November, a 96.3% increase from the same month in 2020.

Mexican vehicle sales decrease 9.1% in October
On November 4, Mexico’s Institito Nacional de Estadistica y Geografia (INEGI) reported sales of 76,640 light vehicles in October, representing a 9.1% decrease from the 84,351 sales in October 2020.
General Motors sold 7,065 units in October, a decrease of 42.1% from the previous year. Volkswagen Group sales of 10,418 units in October had decreased 13.3% from the same month in 2020.
Ford sold 3,664 units, a increase of 10.3%, and Stellantis sold 5,274 units, an increase of 5.8%.
Nissan sales of 15,391 units in October decreased 14.3% from the same month last year.
Toyota sales decreased 4.6% to 5,157 units, while Mazda sales decreased 0.3% to 4,416 units in October.
Honda sold 3,263 units, a decrease of 30.6% from the same month last year.
Kia sold 7,039 units in October, a decrease of 4.9% from 2020, while Hyundai sales decreased 17.8% to 2,195 units.

Mexican vehicle sales fall 1.1% in September
On October 5, Mexico’s Institito Nacional de Estadistica y Geografia (INEGI) reported sales of 76,930 light vehicles in September, representing a 1.1% decrease from the 77,808 sales in September 2020.
Nissan sold 14,819 units in September, a decrease of 13.2% from the previous year.
Volkswagen Group sales of 10,387 units in September had decreased 0.5% from the same month in 2020.
Toyota sold 7,681 units, an increase of 55.6%, General Motors and sold 7,222 units, a decrease of 29.8%. Kia sales increased 4.6% to 7,119 units, while Stellantis sales increased 18.2% to 5,825 units in September.
Honda sold 3,912 units, a decrease of 16.2% from the same month last year.
Ford sold 2,983 units in September, a decrease of 1.1% from 2020, while Hyundai sales increased 7.7% to 2,650 units.
JAC sold 220 vehicles, a 59.4% increase from last September.

Mexican vehicle sales jump 1.4% in August
On September 2, Mexico’s Institito Nacional de Estadistica y Geografia (INEGI) reported sales of 78,235 light vehicles in August, representing a 1.4% increase from the 77,120 sales in August 2020.
General Motors sold 7,508 units in August, a decrease of 38.0% from the previous year.
Volkswagen Group sales of 9,989 units in August had increased 4.5% from the same month in 2020.
Ford sold 2,602 units, a decrease of 6.6%, and Stellantis sold 4,922 units, a increase of 21.4%.
Nissan sales of 16,788 units in August increased 1.5% from the same month last year.
Toyota sales increased 25.8% to 8,220 units, while Mazda sales decreased 7.4% to 2,931 units in August.
Honda sold 4,010 units, a decrease of 5.2% from the same month last year.
Kia sold 7,021 units in August, an increase of 11.3% from 2020, while Hyundai sales increased 9.7% to 2,976 units.
JAC sold 820 vehicles, a 106.0% increase from last August.

Mexican vehicle sales jump 12.7% in July
On August 4, Mexico’s Institito Nacional de Estadistica y Geografia (INEGI) reported sales of 82,157 light vehicles in July, representing a 12.7% increase from the 72,897 sales in July 2020.
General Motors sold 9,085 units in July, a decrease of 24.3% from the previous year.
Volkswagen Group sales of 10,621 units in July had increased 14.4% from the same month in 2020.
Ford sold 2,425 units, a decrease of 51.1%, and FCA sold 3,520 units, a decrease of 28.9%.
Nissan sales of 16,362 units in July increased 9.9% from the same month last year.
Toyota sales increased 35.2% to 8,587 units, while Mazda sales increased 56.5% to 3,950 units in July.
Honda sold 2,994 units, a decrease of 16.3% from the same month last year.
Kia sold 7,059 units in July, an increase of 25.9% from 2020, while Hyundai sales increased 28.4% to 3,562 units.
JAC sold 612 vehicles, a 96.2% increase from last July.

Mexican vehicle sales jump 38.5% in June
On July 2, Mexico’s Institute Nacional de Estadistica y Geografia (INEGI) reported sales of 87,088 light vehicles in June, representing a 38.5% increase from the 62,861 sales in June 2020.
General Motors sold 11,287 units in June, an increase of 11.8% from the previous year.
Volkswagen Group sales of 11,724 units in June had increased 62.2% from the same month in 2020.
Ford sold 3,482 units, an increase of 25.8%, and Stellantis sold 7,301 units, an increase of 60.4%.
Nissan sales of 17,383 units in June increased 49.3 % from the same month last year.
Toyota sales increased 40.5% to 7,626 units, while Mazda sales decreased 19.6% to 3,324 units in June.
Honda sold 2,958 units, an increase of 8.7% from the same month last year.
Kia sold 7,043 units in June, an increase of 54.8% from 2020, while Hyundai sales increased 59.8% to 3,703 units.
JAC sold 704 vehicles built in Mexico by Giant Motors, a 158.8% increase from one year ago.

Mexican vehicle sales up 103.8% in May
On June 4, Mexico’s Institito Nacional de Estadistica y Geografia (INEGI) reported sales of 85,662 light vehicles in May, representing a 103.8% increase from the 42,034 sales hit by coronavirus pandemic in May 2020.
General Motors sold 12,103 units in May, an increase of 108.2% from the previous year.
Volkswagen Group sales of 11,702 units in May had increased 180.6% from the same month in 2020.
Ford sold 2,796 units, an increase of 15.9%, and Stellantis sold 6,169 units, an increase of 121.6%.
Nissan sales of 17,120 units in May increased 95.6% from the same month last year.
Toyota sales increased 71.2% to 7,072 units, while Mazda sales increased 66.4% to 3,867 units in May.
Honda sold 3,622 units, an increase of 86.4% from the same month last year.
Kia sold 6,706 units in May, an increase of 139.9% from 2020, while Hyundai sales increased 127.9% to 3,843 units.
JAC sold 401 vehicles, a 125.3% increase from last May.

Mexican vehicle sales rise 139.4% in April
On May 4, Mexico’s Institito Nacional de Estadistica y Geografia (INEGI) reported sales of 83,612 light vehicles in April, representing a 139.4% increase from the 34,927 sales in April 2020, which were disrupted from the coronavirus pandemic.
General Motors sold 12,616 units in April, an increase of 120.7% from the previous year.
Ford sold 3,306 units, an increase of 60.8%, and FCA sold 4,401 units, an increase of 149.9%.
Volkswagen Group sales of 11,387 units in April had increased 138.3% from the same month in 2020.
Nissan sales of 17,393 units in April increased 151.4% from the same month last year.
Toyota sales increased 104.0% to 6,908 units, while Mazda sales increased 133.4% to 4,482 units in April.
Honda sold 3,709 units, an increase of 207.5% from the same month last year.
Kia sold 6,451 units in April, an increase of 206.8% from 2020, while Hyundai sales increased 209.0% to 3,211 units.
JAC sold 450 vehicles, an increase of 179.5% from last year.

Mexican vehicle sales up 9.1% in March
On April 6, Mexico’s Institito Nacional de Estadistica y Geografia (INEGI) reported sales of 95,513 light vehicles in March, representing a 9.1% increase from the same month in 2020.
General Motors sold 15,544 units in March, a decrease of 6.0% from the previous year.
Volkswagen Group sales of 12,285 units in March had increased 3.1% from the same month in 2020.
Ford sold 3,484 units, an increase of 17.4%, and FCA (Stellantis)* sold 5,158 units, an increase of 16.5%.
Nissan sales of 20,987 units in March increased 19.8% from the same month last year.
Toyota sold 7,223 units, a decrease of 12.8% from March 2020.
Honda sold 4,275 units, an increase of 12.9% from the same month last year, while Mazda sales increased 37.5% to 4,720 units.
Kia sold 7,204 units in March, an increase of 3.0% from 2020, while Hyundai sales increased 47.7% to 3,453 units.
China’s BAIC sold 133 vehicles in March, 9.9% more than the same month in 2020.
With local production at Giant Motors, JAC sold 618 units in March, a 128.0% increase from the previous year.

Mexican vehicle sales fall 21.1% in February
On March 3, Mexico’s Institito Nacional de Estadistica y Geografia (INEGI) reported sales of light vehicles in February, representing a 21.1% decrease from the same month in 2020.
General Motors sold 11,940 units in February, a decrease of 31.6% from the previous year.
Volkswagen Group sales of 11,147 units in February had decreased 20.0% from the same month in 2020.
Ford sold 2,891 units, a decrease of 24.5%, and FCA(Stellantis)* sold 4,122 units, a decrease of 23.9%.
Nissan sales of 18,001 units in February decreased 19.2% from the same month last year.
Toyota sold 6,804 units, a decrease of 13.3% from February 2020.
Honda sold 3,095 units, a decrease of 42.3% from the same month last year, while Mazda sales decreased 9.9% to 4,240 units.
Kia sold 6,395 units in February, a decrease of 18.4% from 2020, while Hyundai sales decreased 19.8% to 2,889 units.
China’s BAIC sold 145 vehicles in February, 25.6% less than the same month in 2020.
With local production at Giant Motors, JAC sold 431 units in February, a 6.2% decrease from the previous year.

Mexican vehicle sales fall 22.5% in January
On February 4, Mexico’s Institito Nacional de Estadistica y Geografia (INEGI) reported sales of 81,203 light vehicles in January 2021, representing a 22.5% decrease from the same month in 2020.
General Motors sold 11,745 units in January, a decrease of 28.2% from the previous year.
Volkswagen Group sales of 10,254 units in January had decreased 32.4% from the same month in 2020.
Ford sold 2,962 units, a decrease of 29.0%, and FCA(Stellantis)* sold 3,879 units, a decrease of 17.3%.
Nissan sales of 17,716 units in January decreased 15.3% from the same month last year.
Toyota sold 7,836 units, a decrease of 3.6% from 2020, and Honda sold 3,451 units, a decrease of 48.1% from January 2020.
Mazda sales decreased by 21.2% compared to January 2020 to 3,769 units.
Kia sold 6,701 units in January, a decrease of 13.6% from 2019, while Hyundai sales decreased 34.3% to 2,630 units.
China’s BAIC sales of 162 units in January represented a 22.5% decrease from the same month in 2020.
JAC sold 385 units in Mexico in January, 7.9% less than the same month in 2020.
