 The 2013 Shanghai Motor Show (The 15th Shanghai International Automobile Industry Exhibition) was held in Shanghai through 21-29, April 2013 (Press day on the 20th). This is the first of three-part series of MarkLines' reports covering new models that is planned to be launched in 2013 and later, including 111 models and concept cars of production models.


This report is the first report that summarizes the details of new models that were showcased by seven major state-run OEMs - SAIC Motor Corp., Dongfeng Motor Corp., FAW Group, Changan Automobile Group, BAIC Group (Beijing Automobile), GAC Group (Guangzhou Automobile) and Fujian Motor Group.


The second report summarizes the exhibition by major emerging Chinese OEMs including Chery Automobile, Geely Holding Group (Geely Automobile), Great Wall Motor, BYD Auto, Brilliance Auto and Jianghuai Automobile Group (JAC). Lastly, the third report summarizes the details of exhibition by each foreign OEM - major Japanese, US, European and Korean OEMs including Toyota, Nissan, Honda, VW, GM and Hyundai.

SAIC Motor unveils Roewe new strategic sedan and a concept car of MG's first production SUV

OEM Model Summary
SAIC Motor Passenger Vehicle MG CS  The MG CS is a concept car of the production model of MG's first urban SUV which made its debut in Shanghai Motor Show 2013. The model is designed by featuring the following characteristics: "Britishness", "Precise", and "Fashionable" and MG-ness. Its body design is said to refer to the Range Rover Evoque. The MG CS is developed based on SAIC's global strategic platform, Global A.
 The production model comes with SAIC Motor Passenger Vehicle's original 1.5 and 2.0-liter high-performance turbo engine in combination with a 6-speed AT. The targeted users are mainly new-generation fashionable young customers living in urban areas. The model is scheduled to be launched in the second half of 2014. The selling price is about 140,000-200,000 RMB.
2nd-generation
Roewe 550
 The remodeled Roewe 550 is the 2nd-generation of the latest strategic sedan in the Roewe series, A+ class. The model is SAIC Motor Passenger Vehicle's first original model that is developed on a new development system, DIS(Digital Image System). The main target-users are young customers born in the 1980s. The model made its debut in Shanghai Motor Show 2013 and is scheduled to be launched in May 2013.
 The new power system consists of a 1.8-liter turbo gasoline engine, a start/stop system (STT), a regenerative braking system, and a 6-speed DCT.
 The model comes with an electric parking brake (EPB), a smart electronic parking system, a head combination/rear/daytime running LED lamp, digital instrumental panel, neck protection seat as standard equipment. It is equipped with a car navigation system that features "Cortex A8" high-performance CPU and 512MB DDR memory.

SAIC Motor Passenger Vehicle Roewe e50
(EV)
 The Roewe e50 is Roewe's first production EV model (2-door, hatchback). Dimensions: overall length: 3569mm; overall width: 1551mm; height: 1540; wheelbase: 2305mm. The vehicle weight is 1,080 kg. It was launched in December 2012 (The new car registration began in January 2013). The selling price is 234,900 RMB (consisting of 106,900 RMB, covered by the government's incentives for individual users, and 128,000 RMB, which the users actually pay).
 *Note: In December 2012, 238 units were produced/sold(shipment basis). In January-March 2013, 15 units were produced, but none were sold.
 The maximum speed is 130km/h. The cruising range is up to 180km at a constant speed of 60km/h. The 0→50km/h acceleration time is 5.3 seconds and the 0→100km/h acceleration time is 14.6 seconds. It takes six hours to fully charge the battery from a 220V outlet. It takes 30 minutes to charge from 10% to 80% on a special charging stand.
 The power system combines an iron phosphate lithium-ion battery (capacity: 18kWh), made by Shanghai Advanced Traction Battery Systems - a joint venture with US-based A123 Systems LLC (the former A123 Systems Inc.), which Wanxiang Group had acquired, with a permanent magnet synchronous motor (rated output/maximum output: 28kW/52kW, maximum torque: 155Nm). A reverse radar warning system is available as optional equipment.
New Roewe
550 Hybrid
(PHV)
 The New Roewe 550 Hybrid is the latest model of a PHV sedan based on the Roewe 550. Dimensions: overall length: 4648mm; overall width: 1827mm; height: 1479mm; wheelbase: 2705mm. The vehicle weight is 1,699kg. It is scheduled to be launched by the end of 2013.
 Concerning drive modes, an engine mode and series/parallel/series-parallel modes are available. The fuel consumption is 2.3L/100km (the former model: 2.5L/100km) in NEDC mode. The cruising range in EV mode is up to 58km in NEDC mode and up to 88km at a constant speed of 60km/h. The maximum speed is 203km/h. It takes six to eight hours to fully charge the battery from a standard household outlet.
 The power system consists of a permanent magnet synchronous motor, a 1.5-liter gasoline engine, an iron phosphate lithium-ion battery (capacity: 40Ah/maximum output: 11.8kWh) made by Shanghai Advanced Traction Battery Systems, ISG(Integrated Starter Generator), and a transmission.
Shanghai FCV
3rd-generation
(FCV)
 The Shanghai FCV 3rd-generation is the fuel-cell passenger car, Shanghai FCV's latest model (a 3rd-generation sedan) that is developed based on the Roewe750. Dimensions: overall length: 4865mm; overall width: 1765mm; height: 1422mm; wheelbase: 2849mm. The cruising range is up to 405km at a constant speed of 60km/h. The maximum speed is 150km/h. The fuel consumption (hydrogen consumption) is 0.91kg/100km at a constant speed of 60km/h. The launch schedule has yet to be decided.
 The vehicle weight is 1,725kg, which is lighter than the former model. Composite lightweight materials are mainly used - PP/glass fiber (GF)/carbon fiber (CF) for engine cover/roof/trunk cover, and magnesium alloy for under the floor.
 The power system consists of (1) a fuel cell (PEMFC: Proton Exchange Membrane Fuel Cell) (rated output: 36kW/normal operating temperature: -10℃ to +45℃), (2) a permanent magnet synchronous motor (rated output: 42kW/4000rpm, maximum output: 90kW/11500rpm, rated torque: 100Nm, maximum torque: 210Nm), (3) an iron phosphate lithium-ion battery (capacity: 16Ah), (4) a hydrogen tank (pressure resistance: 350bar).

Dongfeng Motor exhibits new Future SUV/MPV and three new-energy models planned for commercial production

OEM Model Summary
Dongfeng Liuzhou Motor Future Jingyi X5  The Future Jingyi X5 is a new SUV in the Future series. 4382/1828/1739 with a wheelbase of 2690mm. The maximum speed is 190km/h. The fuel consumption announced by Dongfeng Liuzhou Motor is 8.7L/100km. The model is scheduled to be launched in May 2013. The selling price is 80,000-100,000 RMB.
 The high-end version comes with a 1.8-liter 18K4G Rover-model turbo engine (maximum output: 118kW/maximum torque: 215Nm). The Future Jingyi X5 comes with two front-seat airbags, ABS + EBD (Electronic Brake-force Distributor), electronic stability program (ESP), a reverse radar warning system and an immobilizer as standard equipment.
Future CM7  The Future CM7, which made its debut in Shanghai Motor Show 2013, is a high-end MPV (7-seat) for commercial and public vehicle use. Dimensions: Overall length: 5150mm; overall width: 1920mm; height: 1925mm; wheelbase: 3200mm. The overall width and the wheelbase are larger than those of the same-type model including Buick GL8/Honda Elysion. The Future CM7 is independently developed by a global development team in the Group. The model is scheduled to be launched in September 2013. The selling price is about 150,000-250,000 RMB.
 The model comes with a 2.4-liter Mitsubishi 4G69 engine (maximum output: 121kW/maximum torque: 210Nm). It features 14 types of safety equipment including two front-seat airbags, a reverse monitor/radar, adaptive cruise control (ACC), ABS+EBD, a car navigation system, electronic stability program (ESP=ESC). The model is equipped with an electric sunroof and an electric car air conditioner with a digital panel.
Dongfeng Yu'an Dongfeng Xiaokang
(DFXK)

 The Dongfeng Xiaokang DFXK Fengguang is a 7-seat minivan (a compact car for commercial use) that Dongfeng Yu'an classifies as its new main model. Dimensions: overall length: 4365mm; overall width: 1720mm; height: 1790mm; wheelbase: 2725mm. The model has a front face with a European taste. The vehicle weight is 1,235kg (total weight: 1,835kg). The maximum speed is 165km/h. The Chongqing plant produces the model, which is scheduled to be launched in 2013. The selling price is 45,000-65,000 RMB.
 The model comes with a 1.5-liter engine (D-VVT DK15, maximum output: 85kW, fuel consumption announced by Dongfeng Yu'an is 7.1L/100km), a 1.3-liter (DK13-08, fuel consumption announced by Dongfeng Yu'an is 70.5kW) water-cooled 4-cylinder Dongfeng Yu'an's original gasoline engine, or a 1.3-liter (SFD12B, maximum output: 55kW, fuel consumption announced by Dongfeng Yu'an is 5.2L/100km) 4-cylinder Dongfeng Yu'an's original diesel engine, and a 5-speed MT.
 The mode is equipped with a car navigation system, a reverse monitoring system and 8-direction adjustable leather seat. The diesel model improves fuel consumption by 30% compared to the same-type gasoline model.

Note: At this Shanghai Motor Show, Dongfeng Motor announced that Zhengzhou Nissan's own brand was "(Dongfeng) Fengdu".

Dongfeng Motor Corp. Passenger Vehicle Fengshen E30L
(EV)
 The Fengshen E30L is a new EV hatchback (4-seat, A00-segment that is smaller than the A-segment) under Fengshen own brand. Dimensions: overall length: 2995mm; overall width: 1560mm; height: 1595mm; wheelbase: 2160mm. The vehicle weight is 995kg (total weight: 1,295kg). The maximum speed is 80km/h. The 0→50km/h acceleration time is 8.2 seconds. The cruising range is 160km at a constant speed of 60km/h. It takes 30 minutes on a quick charge (96A power source) and eight hours on a standard charging (8A power source). Commercial production is scheduled at the end of 2013.
 The power system consists of a permanent magnet synchronous motor (rated output: 16kW/maximum output: 25kW, rated torque: 60Nm/maximum torque: 95Nm), an iron phosphate lithium-ion battery unit (voltage: 307V/capacity: 18.3kWh), EMT transmission, and a DC-DC converter. The model features ABS, EPS, an electric car air conditioner, a regenerative braking system, an electric vacuum booster as standard equipment.
Fengshen
A60 ISG
(HV)
 The Fengshen A60 ISG is a series HV sedan (currently being developed) in the Fengshen A60, which was developed based on the platform of the former Nissan Sylphy. Dimensions: overall length: 4680mm; overall width: 1720mm; height: 1515mm; wheelbase: 2700mm. As a first mass-produced HV sedan in the Fengshen series, commercial production and marketing is scheduled to begin as early as in 2014.
 The vehicle weight is 1,280kg (total weight: 1,655kg). The maximum speed is 190km/h. The 0→100km/h acceleration time is 11.8 seconds. The fuel consumption announced by Dongfeng Motor Corp. Passenger Vehicle is 5.7L/100km. The model features systems including regenerative braking.
 The power system consists of a 1.6-liter (1556cc) DFMA16 gasoline engine that Dongfeng Motor Corp. Passenger Vehicle independently developed, a permanent magnet synchronous motor (rated output: 10kW/maximum output: 15kW, rated torque: 57Nm/maximum torque: 90Nm) (maximum revolution speed: 6500rpm, air-cooled type), a Li-ion battery unit (voltage: 144V/total capacity: 0.72kWh), ISG power generator, AMT transmission, and a DC-DC converter. The model features ABS/EPS and a digital instrumental panel as standard equipment. Sunroof is available as optional equipment.
Fengshen
S30 PHEV
 The Fengshen S30 PHEV is a PHV sedan (currently being developed) that is developed based on the Fengshen S30. Dimensions: overall length: 4526mm; overall width: 1740mm; height: 1465mm; wheelbase: 2610mm. The vehicle weight is 1,400kg (total weight: 1,700kg). Commercial production is scheduled to begin as early as in 2014.
 The maximum speed is 150km/h. The 0→100km/h acceleration time is 13.8 seconds. The fuel consumption announced by Dongfeng Motor Corp. Passenger Vehicle is 3.65L/100km. Two-drive modes are available - HV/EV. The cruising range in EV mode is up to 30km. It takes eight hours to charge the battery only from a standard power source.
 The power system consists of a 1.3-liter independently-developed engine (DFMA13), a permanent magnet synchronous motor (main motor) (rated output: 20kW/maximum output: 50kW, rated torque: 60Nm/maximum torque: 150Nm), a Li-ion battery unit (voltage: 345V/total capacity: 8.28kWh), ISG, and a DC-DC converter.
 The model features EPS, ABS, an electric car air conditioner, an electric vacuum booster, and a digital liquid crystal instrumental panel as standard equipment. A multi-functional steering wheel and electric sunroof are available as optional equipment.

Note: Dongfeng Motor Corp. Passenger Vehicle also exhibited the Fengshen S30 STT, which features a start/stop system that employs a lead-acid battery. The Fengshen S30 STT improves fuel consumption by 10% as compared to the same-type standard model.

FAW Group exhibits the first Besturn, Xiali SUVs and an EV version of Weizhi

OEM Model Summary
FAW Car Besturn X80  The Besturn X80 is the first production SUV (compact model) in the Besturn series. Dimensions: overall length: 4586mm; overall width: 1820mm; height: 1662mm; wheelbase: 2675mm. The model uses FAW Car's original platform M1 (3H body frame structure). It mainly competes with Toyota RAV4, Trumpchi GS5, Hover H6 and Haima
*Qishi. The model is scheduled to be launched in May 2013. The selling price is about 120,000-180,000 RMB.
 The model combines a 2.0-liter (maximum output: 146ps (107kW)/maximum torque: 183Nm) or a 2.3-liter (154ps (113kW)/205Nm) engine with a MT/AT. A 2.3-liter model comes with F21 6-speed AT (with manual mode) made by AISHIN. FAW Car also plans to introduce a 1.8-liter turbo gasoline engine model.
Oley 2box  The Oley 2box is the first hatchback in the Oley series. Dimensions: overall length: 4200mm; overall width: 1660mm; height:1465mm; wheelbase: 2525mm. The maximum speed is 170km/h. The model is scheduled to be launched in 2013. The selling price is expected to be about the same level as the sedan version currently marketed (62,800-89,800 RMB).
 The model meets Euro4 emission standards. It features a 4-cylinder VCT-i engine (displacement: 1.5L, maximum output: 75kW) in the ET1 series that FAW Car independently developed and a 5-speed MT/4-speed AT. It is equipped with ABS + EBD, a total of four front-seat SRS/side airbags, electric sunroof, reverse radar, and an immobilizer.
Hongqi H7  The Hongqi H7 is a new high-end sedan (Hongqi strategic high-end model) that is developed based on the former Hongqi Shengshi. Dimensions: overall length: 5095mm; overall width: 1875mm; height: 1485mm; wheelbase: 2970mm. The maximum speed is 215km/h. The fuel consumption announced by FAW Car is 7.1-7.2L/100km. The model is scheduled to be launched in May 2013 (mainly for fleet users). The standard price is reported to be 379,800-524,800 RMB.
 *Note: In April 2013, FAW Car already delivered 500 units in a trial marketing as public vehicles of the Chinese government public office.
 The model uses FAW Car's original H platform. Many of the designs of the side of the body and the rear lamp seem to refer to Audi A6L/Toyota Crown. The model features more specifications including a spacious interior and safety/comfort-related equipment than the same class models (middle-class/high-end models) of German OEM and Japanese OEMs in order to improve its competitiveness. The model achieved a five-star rating in Euro-NCAP (2012+).
 The model comes with three independently-developed engines that meet Euro5 emission standards - a 2.0-liter 4-cylinder (turbo-charged CA4GC20T)/2.5-liter V6 (CA6GV2)/3.0-liter (CA6GV1) V6 - and a 6-speed AT with manual mode.
 It is equipped with eight airbags, adaptive cruise control (ACC), a car navigation system, a power seat with memory, (all) seats with a heater (ventilation type, rear seats with massage functions), and a cleaning device for front main lamp/head lamp.
Tianjin FAW Xiali Xiali N7  The Xiali N7 is a compact SUV, which is a production model of the Xiali R008 concept car that was unveiled in April 2012. The model mainly competes with Geely Jinying/ Changan CX20/ Jianghuai Tongyue RS/Great Wall C20R. Dimensions: overall length: 3950mm; overall width: 1650mm; height: 1505mm; wheelbase: 2410mm. The Xiali N7 (with a wheelbase 5mm larger than that of the Xiali N5) was independently developed based on the platform of the Xiali N5. The vehicle weight of the Xiali N7 is 945kg. The total fuel economy announced by Tianjin FAW Xiali is 5.3L/100km. The maximum speed is 166km/h. The model was launched in March 2013. The standard price is 45,900-53,900 RMB.
 The model comes with a 1.3-liter 4-cylinder VCT-i engine "CA4GA1" (rated output: 67kW/maximum torque: 120Nm) and a 5-speed MT. It is equipped with ABS+EBD, brake override system (BOS), two driver's airbags and tire pressure monitoring system (TPMS) as standard equipment. An idling- stop system (ISS) is available as optional equipment.
FAW Jilin Automobile Jiabao V80  The Jiabao V80 is FAW minivan (also called MPV). Dimensions: overall length: 4205mm; overall width: 1685mm; height: 1910mm; wheelbase: 2700mm. The model is larger than the Jiabao V70 (Dimensions: overall length: 3930mm; overall width: 1585mm; height: 1857mm; wheelbase: 2500mm). The maximum speed is 140km/h. The fuel consumption is 6.9L/100km (announced by FAW Jilin Automobile). The model was launched in April 2013. The selling price is 45,000-50,000 RMB.
 The model comes with a 1.3-liter inline 4-cylinder gasoline engine (maximum output 65kW/maximum torque: 120Nm) and a 5-speed MT. FAW Jilin Automobile plans to add models for commercial use/distribution use/special purpose. The Jiabao V80 is equipped with airbags, ABS + EBD, EPS and front/roof air conditioner as standard equipment.

FAW Car New Besturn B50 EV  The New Besturn B50 EV is an EV sedan that is based on the New Besturn B50. Dimensions: overall length: 4600mm; overall width: 1785mm; height: 1435mm; wheelbase: 2675mm. The vehicle weigh is 1,550kg. It takes seven hours to charge the battery from a standard household outlet and half an hour on a special charging stand. The electric consumption is 15kWh/100km h in NEDC mode. The maximum speed is 150km/h. The cruising range is 120 km at a constant speed of 60km/h.
 The power system combines a permanent magnet synchronous motor (maximum output: 90kW/maximum torque: 210Nm) with a high-capacity (60Ah/20kWh) lightweight Li-ion battery unit. The model features ABS, EPS, multi-information digital panel, a reverse radar, an electric rear mirror/car air conditioner/leather seat.
Hongqi NewH7 PHEV  The New Hongqi H7 PHEV is the latest model (C-class) of a high-end PHV sedan that is based on the Hongqi H7. The model uses FAW Car's own H platform. Dimensions: overall length: 5093mm; overall width: 1873mm; height: 1485mm; wheelbase: 2970mm. The vehicle weight is 2,000kg (the former model weighs 1,990kg). The maximum speed is 209km/h (the former model: 220km/h). The cruising range in EV mode is 30km (the former model: 25.1km) in ECE mode. The fuel consumption per 100km is 3.5 liters in NEDC mode (the former model: 3.7 liter). The gasoline tank capacity is 70L. FAW Car plans to market the model mainly for public vehicle use.
 The power system, FAW Car's original plug-in hybrid system "BlueWay" consists of a permanent magnet synchronous motor (maximum output: 45kW/maximum torque: 280Nm), a 2.0-liter direct-injection 4-cylinder turbo engine, a Li-ion battery (capacity: 8.25kWh) (the capacity of the former model is 20Ah), and a 7-speed DCT.
 The model is equipped with six airbags, ESP, TCS, brake assist system (BAS), push-button parking brake (Auto Hold), electric parking brake (EPB), automatic glare-proof rear-view mirror, a reverse assist motor, a multi-information display panel, and front-end/reverse parking radar.
Tianjin FAW Xiali Weizhi V5 EV  The Weizhi V5 EV is a compact EV sedan which made its debut in Shanghai Motor Show 2013. Dimensions: overall length: 4290mm; overall width: 1680mm; height: 1500mm; wheelbase; 2425mm. The vehicle weight is 1,150kg. Changan Automobile Group unveils a HV sedan to be launched in 2013 and a HV version of a full-size SUV

Changan Automobile Chana Zunxing  The Chana Zunxing is Changan Automobile's global strategic model (9+1 to 14+1 seat high-end small bus). The model made its debut in Shanghai Motor Show 2013. The model is compared to a Changan Automobile version of the Hiace, a model between Brilliance Auto and Toyota. Dimensions: overall length: 5520mm; overall width: 1880mm; height: 2280mm; wheelbase: 3110mm. The Baoding plant in Hebei Province produces the model, which is scheduled to be launched in 2013. The selling price is about 150,000-200,000 RMB.
 The model was jointly developed for 3 years among Changan Automobile Group's nine global development centers. It is mainly for fleet users including the government office/large and medium-sized corporations, and for commuting and traveling. The maximum speed is 100km/h. The fuel consumption announced by Changan Automobile is 12.5L/100km.
 The model meets Euro5 emission standards. It comes with a 2.7-liter VVT-i DOHC engine (3TZ: maximum output: 120kW/maximum torque: 256Nm) and the 038H5 MT made by AISHIN. It is equipped with a DVD navigation system.

The cargo space is 505 liters, which is large among the same type of models. The total fuel consumption announced by Changan Automobile is 8.4L/100km. The model was launched in April 2013. The standard price is 109,800-200,800 RMB.
 The model combines a 1.8-liter turbo (made by US-based BorgWarner) gasoline engine with a 6-speed AT or a 2.0-liter VVT gasoline engine with a 6-speed AT (with manual mode. made by AISHIN AW)/6-speed MT. It comes with a new power system under Changan Automobile's original Blue Core brand. The model achieved an air resistance coefficient of 0.29 in Pininfarina wind tunnel test (nearly the level of Audi A6L).
 The model features 16 new functions and new equipment including four front-seat, side SRS airbags, side curtain SRS airbag, electric parking brake, Electronically Controlled Deceleration (ECD), tire pressure monitoring system (TPMS) and push-button parking brake (Auto-hold).
Chana Eulove  The Eulove is a 5-seat European-style wagon. Changan Automobile invested 3 billion RMB and spent three years developing it respectively. The total fuel consumption announced by Changan Automobile is 6.0L/100km. The maximum speed is 165km/h. The Chongqing plant produces the model, which was launched in April 2013. The standard price is 47,900-55,900 RMB.

Chana Eado Zhishang XT  The Eado Zhishang XT is Eado's sports hatchback which made its debut in Shanghai Motor Show 2013. Changan Automobile's development center in Europe mainly designed the model. The model features a touch panel for steering which responds to the change of feelings/in-vehicle Wi-Fi.
Chana Grand Raeton Hybrid  The Grand Raeton HV is a long-wheel version hybrid model of Changan Automobile's first middle-class/high-end sedan, the Raeton. BAIC Group exhibits 11 new models including Senova sedan based on the Saab 9-5 and SUVs

OEM Model Summary
BAIC Motor Senova sedan  The Senova sedan, premiered in Shanghai Motor Show 2013, is the first production model (The C70G concept, a B-segment strategic sedan, is a base model) in the D series under Senova`s own brand. This is also the first model that uses the "M-trix" platform that is independently developed based on Saab 9-5. The model inherits Saab's DNA including a turbo engine, a lightweight platform, and a body design with an image of the antler of reindeer.
 Dimensions: overall length: 4861mm; overall width: 1820mm; height: 1462mm; wheelbase: 2755mm. The power system combines a 1.8-, 2.0- and 2.3-liter turbo engines with a 5-speed AT. The 1.8-liter model also aims to be used as a public vehicle for the Chinese government's public office. BAIC Motor plans to start selling a limited number (10,000 units) in May 2013.
 In the meantime, BAIC Motor also exhibited the Senova Aero, which is a sports version (modified vehicle) of the Senova sedan. The air resistance coefficient of this model (maximum output: 257kW/maximum torque: 500Nm) is 0.28 (which is smaller than the base model by 0.01. The Senova Aero comes with a 2.3-liter turbo engine. The acceleration performance is nearly the same as BMW 740/Benz SLK/Audi S5 (The 0→100km/h acceleration time is about 6 seconds), which is said to be the highest among vehicles made in China.
 *Note: Nicolas Cage, a famous US actor, is an image character of the Senova. BAIC Group will press ahead with the export of completed Senova passenger cars and with its plan to build a wholly-owned plant abroad.
Senova CUV  The Senova CUV is a production model (development code: C51X) of an urban SUV in the Senova series. Dimensions: overall length: 4398mm; overall width: 1794mm; height: 1645mm; wheelbase: 2650mm. The model is scheduled to be launched in 2014.
Beijing B40  The Beijing B40 is an off-road SUV (4WD, 2-door, 4-seat), which is one of its main models. Dimensions: overall length: 4200mm; overall width: 1800mm; height: 1750mm; wheelbase: 2400mm. The maximum speed is over 150km/h. The fuel consumption is less than 10.6L/100km at a constant speed of 90km/h. The model is scheduled to be launched in September 2013. The selling price is about 130,000-180,000 RMB.
 The model uses an independently-developed new platform. The power system combines a 2.4-liter inline 4-cylinder engine (BNX795QA/G4CA-C06) (maximum output: 105kW/maximum torque: 217Nm) with a 5-speed MT. The detachable hard top is used. The front seats are equipped with two airbags.
Beijing E150 3box  The Beijing E150 3box, premiered in Shanghai Motor Show 2013, is a smaller-class sedan than A-segment in the E series. Dimensions: overall length: 4310mm; overall width; 1720mm; height: 1503mm; wheelbase: 2500mm (The Beijing E150 2box: Dimensions: overall length: 3998mm; overall width: 1720mm; height: 1503mm; wheelbase: 2500mm). The model is scheduled to be launched as early as in May 2013. The selling price is about 70,000-90,000 RMB.
 The model comes with a 1.3-liter (maximum output: 73kW) or a 1.5-liter (maximum output: 83kW/maximum torque: 143Nm) VVT gasoline engine (4A9-type made by Mitsubishi's Shenyang plant) in combination with a 5-speed MT/AISHI's 4-speed AT. The model meets Euro 4/5 emission standards.
Beijing E series Cross  The Beijing E series Cross is the first crossover in the Beijing E series. The model features the front face of the Beijing E150 2box. Dimensions: overall length: 3998mm; overall width: 1720mm; height: 1503mm; wheelbase: 2500mm. The model is scheduled to be launched in 2013. The selling price is about 60,000-80,000 RMB.
 The model comes with a 1.3-liter (maximum output: 73kW/maximum torque: 124Nm) or a 1.5-liter (83kW/143Nm) VVT gasoline engine. The model meets Euro 4/5 emission standards.
Beijing concept 500  The Beijing concept 500 is a concept car that is independently developed by BAIC Group based on the Beijing 212, which is an off-road vehicle under its former own brand. Details are unknown.
Beiqi Foton Motor Foton MPX S  The Foton MPX S, premiered in Shanghai Motor Show 2013, is an S-class MPV (9 to 14-seat, Beiqi Foton Motor plans to add a 17-seat version). Dimensions: overall length: 5380mm; overall width: 1920mm; height: 2285mm; wheelbase: 3110mm. The model is smaller than the former model (MPX: Dimensions: overall length: 4800mm; overall width: 1825mm; height: 1950mm; wheelbase: 2985mm) in the E-class The model is scheduled to be launched in April 2013. The standard price is 138,800-408,800 RMB.
 The model comes with a 2.4-liter Mitsubishi 4G69S4N VVT gasoline engine, a 2.0-liter 4Gi-VVT (also known as "M004EV20") gasoline engine (output: 95k to 125kW), which employs the technology used for Benz (M112EV32 engine) and which is jointly developed with Bosch and the UK-based Lotus, or a 2.8-liter ISF2.8 common rail diesel engine made by Beijing Cummins in combination with a 5-speed MT. The Foton MPX S meets Euro4 emission standards. The model features two airbags, a car navigation system, and a reverse monitor.

In January 2013, the model was purchased in large volume as an urban public bus in South Africa.

 The Beijing concept 900 is a concept car of a 2-door, 4-seat HV sports sedan with a gull-wing door made of carbon fiber. Leonardo Fioravanti, a famous designer in Italy, designed the model. Dimensions: overall length: 5035mm; overall width: 1400mm; height: 1990mm; wheelbase: 3100mm. The grill reflects an image of three-dimensional wavelike form.
 The power system has not been unveiled, but Beijing Electric Vehicle plans to use one with Mercedes-Benz's technology. A panoramic sunroof is used. The model is equipped with a monitoring system with two cameras. Manually-operated devices such as interior lamps and wipers are all replaced with automatic control systems including a touch panel operation.

Note: BAIC Group plans to sell/run 5,000 EVs in 2013 including 3,000 passenger cars for individual customers and over 1,000 units for public service including taxis.

GAC Group unveils a global strategic sedan, the Trumpchi, which is scheduled to be launched in 2013, and a hybrid SUV

GAC Motor Trumpchi GA3  The Trumpchi GA3, premiered in Shanghai Motor Show 2013, is a new global strategic sedan (modern, compact midsize sedan) in the Trumpchi series, which is based on the E-jet concept - an independently-developed concept car that uses an innovative midsize platform. Porsche adjusted the platform to be suitable for the model. Dimensions: overall length: 4570mm; overall width: 1790mm; height: 1490mm; wheelbase: 2620mm. The vehicle weight of the MT version is 1,235kg and that of the AT version is 1,265kg. The maximum speed is 190km/h. The model is scheduled to be launched in July 2013. The selling price starts at about 90,000 RMB.
 The model comes with a 1.3-liter turbo engine or an independently-developed 1.6-liter gasoline engine (4B16, maximum output: 90kW/maximum torque: 158Nm) and a 5-speed MT/4-speed AT. It features Bosch ESP and also enhances an in-vehicle communications network, enabling interlink of a cell phone and some of the functions of the vehicle and starting/stopping of the engine and the car air conditioner with a cell phone.

 The Trumpchi GS5 Hybrid is said to be China's first 4WD strong hybrid SUV (urban SUV). The Trumpchi GS5, which uses the platform of the Alfa Romeo 166, is the base model. The fuel consumption is improved by more than 30% compared to the gasoline version of the same model. It has yet to be decided when the model will be launched. *Note: GAC Group will start a test run of the HVs in Guangzhou in 2013 with a plan to introduce 200 units of its original Trumpchi Hybrid. It also plans to additionally introduce a PHV, an EV and a range extended gradually in the next few years.
 The hybrid power system consists of a 1.8-liter naturally-aspirated gasoline engine (maximum output: 106kW(144ps)/maximum torque: 167Nm), a 5-speed AT with manual mode, a permanent magnet synchronous motor for rear wheel drive, ISG power generator, and a Li-ion battery unit. Various modes including EV, start/stop system (STT), and regenerative braking/power up, and 2WD/4WD can be shifted continuously and smoothly.

Fujian Motor Group launches Soueast Motor's first global strategic hatchback and unveils a sports concept car
