Mexican production up 4.9%, exports up 12.0% in June

The Asociacion Mexicana de la Industria Automotriz (AMIA) released June 2017 figures on July 10.
Production of 334,606 light vehicles in June was up 4.9% from the 319,122 units produced in the same month last year.
Productions by manufacture are as follows: Nissan was down 0.2% to 77,992 units, GM was up 17.0% to 70,452 units, FCA was up 28.0% to 59,340 units, VW was down 0.5% to 40,753 units, and Ford was down 17.9% to 29,312 units.

Exports in June of 276,626 light vehicles showed an increase of 12.0% compared to the number of vehicles exported last June.
Exports by manufactures are as follows: GM was up 40.4% to 60,439 units, FCA was up 40.6% to 53,106 units, Nissan was up 2.9% to 46,457 units, VW was up 8.1% to 36,087 units, and Ford was down 22.4% to 29,060 units.
The destination of first six month export volumes indicates that the majority of exports, 76.8%, went to the U.S. The North America region accounted for 85.2% of the total exports.
