  In 2022, among the sales of New Energy Vehicles, sales of EVs (electric vehicles) reached 4,284,000 units, up 68.0% year-over-year (y/y); 1,262,000 units of PHVs (plug-in hybrid electric vehicles) were sold, reflecting an increase of 139.5% y/y; and 5,005 units of fuel cell vehicles (FCVs) were sold in 2022, reflecting a 163.8% y/y increase. EVs and PHVs accounted for 77.2% and 22.7% of total NEV sales volumes, respectively.

  By province, sales in 2022 were 828,000 units in Guangdong, up 82.1% y/y. 635,000 units were sold in 2022 in Zhejiang, up 98.4% y/y, and 502,000 units were sold in Jiangsu, reflecting an increase of 98.4% y/y. By city, sales in Shanghai were 350,000 units, up 39.3% y/y; in Shenzhen, sales were 251,000 units, up 49.2% y/y; and in Hangzhou, sales were up 79.4% to 216,000 units.
