Business Overview

-The Company is the Chinese subsidiary of the German mega-supplier Schaeffler and has operated in China since 1995, when the Company started production there. Currently, Schaeffler has 13,031 employees in China, two R&D centers in Anting, Shanghai and Changsha, Hunan, and 13 plants in Taicang, Suzhou, Yinchuan, Nanjing, Xiangtan and other cities.

Division	Business Activities
Automotive Technologies	Development and production of solutions for internal combustion engines and for hybrid and electric vehicles. Development and production of parts and systems for engines, transmissions, and chassis.
Automotive Aftermarket	The Company produces products under four brands: LuK, INA, FAG, and Ruville, delivering clutch-release systems as well as products for engines, transmissions and chassis.
Industrial	The Company produces bearings also, such as ball bearings, plain bearings, as well as liners and direct-drive technologies and services, with a focus on intelligent products and connected components.

-Orders in the Electric Drive sector increased EUR 5.1, significantly exceeding expectations.

-Sales in the Chassis sector grew sharply, up 24.1%, with Europe and China the main contributors. The group's four main regions all grew, with China up 2.0%.

- Sales in the Automotive Aftersales division rose 11.8% at fixed exchange rates to EUR 2.253 billion. The group's four main regions all performed well, especially in China, where sales were up 28.7%, mainly due to strong growth in the e-commerce business.

-In November 2023, the Company launched a public tender offer for all outstanding shares in Vitesco Technologies Group AG, with the tender offer concluding in January 2024.

History

1995	Ina Bearing (China) Co., Ltd. was established in Taicang, Jiangsu and changed its name into Schaeffler (China) Co., Ltd.
1997	Raybestos Friction Products (Suzhou) Co., Ltd. was established. Later, it was merged into Schaeffler Group and changed its name into Schaeffler Friction Products (Suzhou) Co., Ltd.
1998	Ina Bearing (China) Co., Ltd. Taicang Plant I came into operation.
2001	Ningxia Fu An Jie Northwest Railway Bearing Co., Ltd. was established in Yinchuan, Ningxia. Later, it was merged into Schaeffler Group and changed its name into Schaeffler (Ningxia) Co., Ltd.
2004	Schaeffler Asia Management (Shanghai) Co., Ltd. was established, later it was renamed as Schaeffler Holding (China) Co., Ltd. to manage investment and business in China.
2006	Schaeffler (China) Co., Ltd. Plant II and Plant III came into operation.
2007	Shanghai Anting Schaeffler R&D Center was established.
2011	Schaeffler (Nanjing) Co., Ltd. was established.
2012	Schaeffler (Ningxia) Co., Ltd. opened new plant to expand production.
	Schaeffler Friction Products (Suzhou) Co., Ltd. moved into new plant, thus, production capacity improved.
	Schaeffler (China) Co., Ltd. Plant IV came into operation.
2014	Schaeffler (Nanjing) Co., Ltd. came into operation.
	Schaeffler (China) Co., Ltd. Plant II restructured.
	Schaeffler (China) Co., Ltd. Plant III No. 5 plant put into operation.
Jun. 2015	Schaeffler AG announced that its Nanjing Plant will start producing truck wheel bearings.
Aug. 2016	Schaeffler AG announced that it will invest in a new production base in Xiangtan, Hunan Province, China.
Oct. 2016	Schaeffler (Nanjing) Co., Ltd. held an inauguration ceremony to celebrate the official opening of Hall 3, its new production facility in Nanjing, China.
Nov. 2017	The Schaeffler Xiangtan Manufacturing Base was officially laid.
Mar. 2018	Schaeffler's first global P2 Hybrid Module was officially put into production at the Taicang Manufacturing Base.
Sep. 2018	Schaeffler Friction Products (Suzhou) Co., Ltd. completed the construction of its continuously variable transmission (CVT) chain production line in Suzhou.
May. 2021	Launched operations at Schaeffler (Nanjing) Co., Ltd.’s fourth plant.
