Summary

  The local automotive market was once again enlivened before the year's end with the 39th Thailand International Motor Expo, held in Bangkok from December 1-12, 2022, under the concept of “It's TIME…Come Touch the FUTURE”. The event brought together 35 car brands and 17 motorcycle makers from 8 countries, including Audi, Bentley, BMW, BYD, Ford, Great Wall Motor, Honda, Hyundai, Isuzu, Jeep, Kia, Lamborghini, Lexus, Maserati, Mazda, Mercedes-Benz, MG, MINE, MINI, Mitsubishi, Moke, Neta, Nissan, Peugeot, POCCO, Porsche, Subaru, Suzuki, Toyota, Volt, Volvo, (as well as BMW M Performance, Carlsson, M'Z Speed, and Swift), along with Alpha Volantis, BMW Motorrad, Ducati, EM, Felo, Harley-Davidson, Thai Honda, Husqvarna, Kawasaki, KTM, Lambretta, Royal Enfield, Scomadi, Solar, Suzuki, Triumph, and Yamaha.

  The parade of pure electric models at the show included BYD ATTO 3, Mercedes-Benz EQS 500 4MATIC AMG Premium, MG4, MINE EV Mini Truck MT30, MINI Cooper SE, NETA V, ORA Grand Cat, POCCO, Toyota BZ4X, VOLT City EV, Volvo C40 Recharge Pure Electric. Other exhibited models were Honda SUV E: Prototype, Audi Q5 Sportback 55 TFSI E, Bentley Hybrid, BMW 3 Series LCI, Ford Ranger, Hyundai Stargazer, Isuzu V-CROSS 4x4 Magic Eyes, JEEP Gladiator Rubicon, KIA Carnival, Mazda Carbon Edition, Mitsubishi Pajero Sport, Lamborghini Urus Performante, Maserati Grecale, Nissan Kicks E-Power, Peugeot 2008 SUV, Porsche Panamera Platinum Edition, Subaru Forester, and Suzuki Ertiga Smart Hybrid.

  The 12-day event was projected to generate around THB 45-50 billion. Bookings of both cars and motorcycles were forecast to reach 42,000 units. In addition, the Motor Expo Online Platform and Motor Expo Touch application were made available to support visitors virtually.
