US rejects India’s WTO consultations on auto tariffs
On June 12, multiple sources reported that the United States rejected India’s request for talks at the WTO (World Trade Organization) over tariffs on automobiles and parts. The US stated the tariffs were needed to protect national security. A 25% tariff on all auto imports has been in place since April 3, 2025.
