・The Japan Automobile Manufacturers Association, Inc. will open the Japan Mobility Show 2023 (JMS 2023) from Thursday, October 26 through Sunday, November 5. Press days are October 25 and 26, with the Show open to the general public from October 28. The event will be held throughout the Tokyo Big Sight international exhibition center.

・The name of the show has been changed from "Tokyo Motor Show" to "Japan Mobility Show," and exhibitors will include companies from other industries and start-ups beyond the automotive industry. The number of participating companies is 475 (as of the October 4 announcement), a significant increase from the 192 companies at the previous 2019 Tokyo Motor Show.

・Among Japanese automakers, Toyota is exhibiting its FT-3e electric SUV concept car, the FT-Se EV sports car, the Land Cruiser Se electric SUV with 3-row seating, and the EPU electric pickup concept. In addition to EV concept cars, Nissan will exhibit special edition reference products. Suzuki will exhibit the eVX electric SUV and the eWX mini-wagon EV concept vehicles. Also, exhibiting for the first time, Sony Honda Mobility is showing the AFEELA Prototype making its public debut in Japan.

・Three overseas automakers, Mercedes-Benz, BMW, and BYD, will be exhibiting at the Show. BYD will exhibit the U8 electric off-road SUV under its premium brand Yangwang, as well as the D9 MPV, a product of the BYD and Mercedes-Benz joint venture high-end sub-brand Denza, both models making their Japan debuts. BMW's all-new C-segment electric SUV, the iX2, will also make its world premiere.

・Besides automakers, the MIH (Mobility in Harmony) Consortium, which is aiming for EV industry innovation and is led by Hon Hai Precision Industry Co., Ltd. (Foxconn), will present concept cars optimized for urban shared mobility and fleet solutions for smart logistics as its business strategy.
