Indonesian automobile manufacturers association (Gaikindo) and other sources reported that Indonesian vehicle sales in December 2019 were 87,664 units, decreased 0.2% over the same month in 2018.
Total sales in 2019 totaled 1,030,126 units, a 10.5% decrease from that of 2018.
In 2019, Toyota sales decreased 5.8% to 331,797 units (32.2% market share), Daihatsu sales decreased 12.6% to 177,284 units (17.2% market share), Honda decreased 15.3% to 137,339 units (13.3% market share), Mitsubishi decreased 16.7% to 119,011 units (11.6% market share), and Suzuki decreased 14.9% to 100,383 units (9.7% market share).

Indonesian sales down 9.9% in November
Indonesian automobile manufacturers association (Gaikindo) and other sources reported that Indonesian vehicle sales in November 2019 were 90,798 units, down 9.9% year over year.
January - November sales were down 11.6% to 940,362 units.
By automaker sales in November, Toyota fell 9.4% y/y to 28,970 units and a 31.9% market share. Daihatsu was down 11.2% to 15,911 units and a 17.5% market share. Honda decreased 16.6% to 13,210 units and a 14.5% market share. Suzuki was down 0.3% to 10,077 units and a 11.1% market share. Mitsubishi fell 12.4% to 8,883 units and a 9.8% market share.

Indonesian sales down 9.5% in October
Indonesian automobile manufacturers association (Gaikindo) and other sources reported that Indonesian vehicle sales in October 2019 were 96,030 units, down 9.5% year over year.
January - October sales were down 11.8% to 849,609 units.
By automaker sales in October, Toyota was down 14.3% y/y to 30,944 units and a 32.2% market share. Daihatsu was down 16.6% to 17,530 units and a 18.3% market share. Honda was down 6.4% to 14,503 units and a 15.1% market share. Suzuki was up 2.4% to 8,721 units and a 9.1% market share. Mitsubishi was down 23.1% to 8,569 units and a 8.9% market share.

Indonesian sales down 0.4% in September
Indonesian automobile manufacturers association (Gaikindo) and other sources reported that Indonesian vehicle sales in September 2019 were 92,943 units, down 0.4% year over year. Although it was negative growth for 3 consecutive months on y/y basis, it improved from the last month’s figure.
January - September sales were down 12.0% to 753,594 units.
By automaker sales in September, Toyota was up 6.7% y/y to 31,831 units and a 34.2% market share. Daihatsu was up 2.5% to 17,537 units and a 18.9% market share. Honda was up 13.4% to 12,431 units and a 13.4% market share. Mitsubishi was down 28.5% to 8,534 units and a 9.2% market share. Suzuki was down 8.6% to 8,118 units and a 8.7% market share.
In September, Gaikindo has revised its 2019 auto sales target down to 1 million units due to myriad factors including condition of the automobile industry which is still experiencing a slowdown, rising interest rates and the exchange rate of the rupiah which continues to weaken against the United States dollar. It also estimated that sales in the last 3 months of 2019 could reach another 250,000 units.

By automaker sales in August, Toyota was down 7.1% y/y to 28,933 units and Daihatsu was down 12.0% to 15,415 units. Honda was down 19.9% to 11,909 units. Mitsubishi was down 21.1% to 10,477 units as well. Suzuki was down 19.9% to 8,622 units.

Indonesian automobile manufacturers association (Gaikindo) and other sources reported that Indonesian vehicle sales in May 2019 were 84,146 units, down 16.3% year over year.
January - May sales were down 14.7% to 422,038 units.
By automaker sales in May, Toyota was up 0.6% y/y to 29,128 units and Daihatsu was down 20.0% to 14,178 units. Honda was down 22.9% to 11,048 units. Mitsubishi was down 28.2% to 9,228 units as well. Suzuki was down 30.1% to 8,775 units.

Indonesian sales down 17.8% in April
Indonesian automobile manufacturers association (Gaikindo) and other sources reported that Indonesian vehicle sales in April 2019 were 84,029 units, down 17.8% year over year.
January - April sales were down 14.3% to 337,892 units.
By automaker sales in April, Toyota was up 0.2% y/y to 29,424 units and Daihatsu was down 14.5% to 16,126 units. Honda was down 31.6% to 11,631 units. Mitsubishi was down 37.7% to 7,832 units as well. Suzuki was down 9.7% to 7,677 units.
Gaikindo said, consumers are holding back spending because they are still seeing developments in the political situation.

Indonesian sales down 11.4% in March
Indonesian automobile manufacturers association (Gaikindo) and other sources reported that Indonesian vehicle sales in March 2019 were 90,189 units, down 11.4% year over year.
January - March sales were down 13.1% to 253,863 units.
By automaker sales in March, Toyota was down 8.6% y/y to 28,725 units and Daihatsu was up 14.4% to 19,625 units. Mitsubishi was down 5.8% to 13,164 units. Honda was down 24.5% to 8,144 units as well. Suzuki was down 35.3% to 6,291 units.
Gaikindo is still optimistic that the vehicle sales target of 1.1 million units in 2019 can be achievded.

January - February sales were down 14.0% to 163,675 units.
By automaker sales in February, Toyota was down 15.2% y/y to 23,449 units and Daihatsu was up 4.1% to 16,305 units. Mitsubishi was down 23.6% to 10,704 units. Honda was down 10.6% to 10,637 units as well. Suzuki was down 25.3% to 8,307 units.
Gaikindo projected car sales in Indonesia to stay at 1.1 million units in 2019.
