Brazilian vehicle sales up 12.0% in December, up 8.6% in 2019 (ANFAVEA)
The Associacao Nacional dos Fabricantes de Veiculos Automotores (ANFAVEA) announced that Brazilian new vehicle sales (including trucks and buses) in December increased 12.0% year-over-year (y/y) to 262,558 units while full-year sales of 2,787,850 vehicles in 2019 were up 8.6% from 2018’s accumulated total.
For all of 2019, passenger car sales increased 7.6% to 2,262,069 units, light commercial vehicles were up 8.1% to 403,514 unites, trucks climbed 33.3% to 101,335 and buses were up 38.8% to 20,932unites.
Among passenger vehicle manufacturers, General Motors sold 431,023 units (19.1% share), VW sold 349,797 units (15.5%), FCA sold 331,298 units (14.6%). Among light commercial vehicle manufacturers, FCA sold 164,782 units (40.8%), VW sold 61,208 units (15.2%), GM sold 44,724 units (11.1%).
The Federacao Nacional da Distribuicao de Veiculos Automotores announced passenger vehicle sales rankings by model for the year. The Chevrolet Onix was the best-selling passenger vehicle in 2019 with 241,214 sales, followed by the Ford Ka with 104,331 sales, Hyundai HB20 with 101,590 sales.
The Fiat Strada was the best-selling LCV in 2019 with 76,223 sales, followed by the Fiat Toro with 65,566 sales, VW Saveiro with 42,270 sales.
In ANFAVEA's sales report by fuel type in 2019, sales of flexible-fuel vehicles was up 7.4% y/y to 2,328,650 units (87.4%), diesel vehicles were up 13.5% from a year ago with 251,222 units (9.4%), gasoline vehicles decreased 9.9% to 73,853 units (2.8%), and hybrid and electric vehicles increased 198.7% to 11,858 units (0.4%).

Brazilian vehicle sales up 4.9% to 242,310 units in November (ANFAVEA)
The Associacao Nacional dos Fabricantes de Veiculos Automotores (ANFAVEA) announced that Brazilian new vehicle sales (including trucks and buses) in November increased 4.9% year-over-year (y/y) to 242,310 units.
Vehicle sales in November consisted of 196,770 passenger cars; 34,820 light commercial vehicles; 9,064 trucks; and 1,656 buses.
Among passenger vehicle manufacturers, General Motors sold 37,650 units (19.1% share), VW sold 31,962 units (16.2%), FCA sold 29,364 units (14.9%), Renault sold 19,219 units (9.8%) and Ford sold 17,481 units (8.9%).
Among light commercial vehicle manufacturers, FCA sold 14,779 units (42.4%), VW sold 4,964 units (14.3%), GM sold 3,711 units (10.7%), Toyota sold 3,225 units (9.3%) and Renault sold 2,047 units (5.9%).

The Chevrolet Onix was the best-selling passenger vehicle in November with 19,184 sales, followed by the Ford KA with 8,968 sales, Fiat Argo with 8,270 sales, Chevrolet Onix Plus with 8,092 sales, Hyundai HB20 with 8,050 sales, VW Polo with 7,168 sales, and VW Gol with 6,573 sales.
The Fiat Strada was the best-selling LCV in November with 6,412 sales, followed by the Fiat Toro with 6,281 sales, VW Saveiro with 3,440 sales, Toyota Hilux with 3,225 sales, and Chevrolet S10 with 2,622 sales.
In ANFAVEA's sales report by fuel type, sales of flexible-fuel vehicles was up 3.0% y/y to 202,685 units (87.5%), diesel vehicles were up 18.2% from a year ago with 21,179 units (9.1%), gasoline vehicles decreased 15.2% to 5,713 units (2.5%), and hybrid and electric vehicles increased 438.2% to 2,013 units.

Brazilian vehicle sales down 0.5% to 253,361 units in October (ANFAVEA)
The Associacao Nacional dos Fabricantes de Veiculos Automotores (ANFAVEA) announced that Brazilian new vehicle sales (including trucks and buses) in October decreased 0.5% year-over-year (y/y) to 253,361 units.
Vehicle sales in October consisted of 204,532 passenger cars; 37,254 light commercial vehicles; 9,418 trucks; and 2,157 buses.
Among passenger vehicle manufacturers, General Motors sold 39,686 units (19.4% share), VW sold 31,696 units (15.5%), FCA sold 31,205 units (15.3%), Ford sold 18,492 units (9.0%), Renault sold 17,649 units (8.6%).
Among light commercial vehicle manufacturers, FCA sold 15,744 units (42.3%), VW sold 5,676 units (15.2%), GM sold 3,610 units (9.7%), Toyota sold 3,395 units (9.1%), Ford sold 2,341 units (6.3%).
The Federacao Nacional da Distribuicao de Veiculos Automotores announced passenger vehicle sales rankings by model for the month. The Chevrolet Onix was the best-selling passenger vehicle in October with 21,198 sales, followed by the Ford KA with 9,691 sales, Hyundai HB20 with 8,332 sales, Fiat Argo with 7,586 sales, VW Polo with 7,245 sales, Chevrolet Onix Plus with 7,140 sales, and Jeep Renegade with 6,680 sales.
The Fiat Strada was the best-selling LCV in October with 6,958 sales, followed by the Fiat Toro with 6,914 sales, VW Saveiro with 4,503 sales, Toyota Hilux with 3,397 sales, and Chevrolet S10 with 2,633 sales.
In ANFAVEA's sales report by fuel type, sales of flexible-fuel vehicles was down 2.9% y/y to 210,454 units (87.0%), diesel vehicles were up 10.8% from a year ago with 22,965 units (9.5%), gasoline vehicles decreased 13.3% to 6,378 units (2.6%), and hybrid and electric vehicles increased 391.1% to 1,989 units.

Brazilian vehicle sales up 10.1% to 234,848 units in September (ANFAVEA)
The Associacao Nacional dos Fabricantes de Veiculos Automotores (ANFAVEA) announced that Brazilian new vehicle sales (including trucks and buses) in September increased 10.1% year-over-year (y/y) to 234,848 units.
Vehicle sales in September consisted of 187,818 passenger cars; 36,196 light commercial vehicles; 9,098 trucks; and 1,736 buses.
Among passenger vehicle manufacturers, General Motors sold 36,724 units (19.6% share), VW sold 29,351 units (15.6%), FCA sold 26,256 units (14.0% share), Renault sold 20,986 units (11.2%), Ford sold 15,903 units (8.5% share).
Among light commercial vehicle manufacturers, FCA sold 14,449 units (39.9% share), VW sold 6,036 units (16.7% share), GM sold 4,113 units (11.4% share), Toyota sold 3,189 units (8.8% share), Ford sold 2,114 units (5.8%).

The Fiat Strada was the best-selling LCV in September with 6,573 sales, followed by the Fiat Toro with 5,697 sales, VW Saveiro with 4,247 sales, Toyota Hilux with 3,187 sales, and Chevrolet S10 with 2,957 sales.
In ANFAVEA's sales report by fuel type, sales of flexible-fuel vehicles was up 8.3% y/y to 194,701 units (market share of 86.9%), diesel vehicles were up 12.5% from a year ago with 21,516 units (market share of 9.6%), gasoline vehicles increased 10.6% to 6,533 units (market share of 2.9%), and hybrid and electric vehicles increased 342.0% to 1,264 units.

Brazilian vehicle sales down 2.3% to 242,985 units in August (ANFAVEA)
The Associacao Nacional dos Fabricantes de Veiculos Automotores (ANFAVEA) announced that Brazilian new vehicle sales (including trucks and buses) in August decreased 2.3% year-over-year (y/y) to 242,985 units.
Vehicle sales in August consisted of 195,917 passenger cars; 35,605 light commercial vehicles; 9,433 trucks; and 2,030 buses.
Among passenger vehicle manufacturers, General Motors sold 38,042 units (19.4% share), VW sold 33,030 units (16.9%), FCA sold 27,606 units (14.1% share), Renault sold 18,413 units (9.4%), Hyundai sold 18,365 units (9.4% share).
Among light commercial vehicle manufacturers, FCA sold 13,919 units (39.1% share), VW sold 5,876 units (16.5% share), GM sold 4,332 units (12.2% share), Toyota sold 3,306 units (9.3% share), Ford sold 2,135 units (6.0%).
The Federacao Nacional da Distribuicao de Veiculos Automotores announced passenger vehicle sales rankings by model for the month. The Chevrolet Onix was the best-selling passenger vehicle in August with 22,396 sales, followed by the Ford Ka with 9,140 sales, Hyundai HB20 with 8,187 sales, VW Gol with 7,848 sales, Renault Kwid with 7,455, Chevrolet Prisma with 7,251 sales.
The Fiat Strada was the best-selling LCV in August with 6,725 sales, followed by the Fiat Toro with 5,382 sales, VW Saveiro with 4,235 sales, Toyota Hilux with 3,300 sales, and Chevrolet S10 with 3,053 sales.
In ANFAVEA's sales report by fuel type, sales of flexible-fuel vehicles was down 4.5% y/y to 201,840 units (market share of 87.2%), diesel vehicles were up 9.6% from a year ago with 22,345 units (market share of 9.7%), gasoline vehicles decreased 15.2% to 6,481 units (market share of 2.8%), and hybrid and electric vehicles increased 226.7% to 856 units.

Brazilian vehicle sales up 12.0% to 243,614 units in July (ANFAVEA)
The Associacao Nacional dos Fabricantes de Veiculos Automotores (ANFAVEA) announced that Brazilian new vehicle sales (including trucks and buses) in July increased 12.0% year-over-year (y/y) to 243,614 units.
Vehicle sales in July consisted of 195,851 passenger cars; 37,011 light commercial vehicles; 8,941 trucks; and 1,811 buses.
Among passenger vehicle manufacturers, General Motors sold 36,355 units (18.6% share), VW sold 30,545 units (15.6%), FCA sold 28,840 units (14.7% share), Hyundai sold 17,912 units (9.1%), Toyota sold 16,876 units (8.6% share).
Among light commercial vehicle manufacturers, FCA sold 15,657 units (42.3% share), VW sold 5,170 units (14.0% share), GM sold 4,168 units (11.3% share), Toyota sold 3,857 units (10.4% share), Renault sold 1,880 units (5.1%).

The Fiat Strada was the best-selling LCV in July with 7,021 sales, followed by the Fiat Toro with 6,212 sales, Toyota Hilux with 3,855 sales, VW Saveiro with 3,500 sales, and Chevrolet S10 with 3,093 sales.
In ANFAVEA's sales report by fuel type, sales of flexible-fuel vehicles was up 11.7% y/y to 202,674 units (market share of 87.0%), diesel vehicles were up 14.5% from a year ago with 23,266 units (market share of 10.0%), gasoline vehicles decreased 15.4% to 5,962 units (market share of 2.6%), and hybrid and electric vehicles increased 266.4% to 960 units.

Brazilian vehicle sales up 10.5% to 223,198 units in June (ANFAVEA)
The Associacao Nacional dos Fabricantes de Veiculos Automotores (ANFAVEA) announced that Brazilian new vehicle sales (including trucks and buses) in June increased 10.5% year-over-year (y/y) to 223,198 units.
Vehicle sales in June consisted of 181,297 passenger cars; 32,700 light commercial vehicles; 7,686 trucks; and 1,515 buses.
Among passenger vehicle manufacturers, General Motors sold 32,576 units (18.0% share), FCA sold 28,883 units (15.9%), VW sold 27,748 units (15.3% share), Renault sold 19,435 units (10.7%), Hyundai sold 15,409 units (8.5% share).
Among light commercial vehicle manufacturers, FCA sold 13,115 units (40.1% share), VW sold 4,768 units (14.6% share), GM sold 3,936 units (12.0% share), Toyota sold 3,045 units (9.3% share), Renault sold 1,945 units (5.9%).
The Federacao Nacional da Distribuicao de Veiculos Automotores announced passenger vehicle sales rankings by model for the month. The Chevrolet Onix was the best-selling passenger vehicle in June with 19,500 sales, followed by the Ford Ka with 8,398 sales, Hyundai HB20 with 8,147 sales, Renault Kwid with 7,882 sales, and Fiat Argo with 7,539 sales.
The Fiat Strada was the best-selling LCV in June with 6,147 sales, followed by the Fiat Toro with 4,923 sales, VW Saveiro with 3,257 sales, Toyota Hilux with 3,043 sales, and Chevrolet S10 with 2,871 sales.
In ANFAVEA's sales report by fuel type, sales of flexible-fuel vehicles was up 10.5% y/y to 186,549 units (market share of 87.2%), diesel vehicles were up 11.1% from a year ago with 20,786 units (market share of 9.7%), gasoline vehicles decreased 20.4% to 5,946 units (market share of 2.8%), and hybrid and electric vehicles increased 87.4% to 716 units.

Brazilian vehicle sales up 21.6% to 245,440 units in May (ANFAVEA)
The Associacao Nacional dos Fabricantes de Veiculos Automotores (ANFAVEA) announced that Brazilian new vehicle sales (including trucks and buses) in May increased 21.6% year-over-year (y/y) to 245,440 units.
Vehicle sales in May consisted of 198,776 passenger cars; 35,824 light commercial vehicles; 9,127 trucks; and 1,713 buses.
Among passenger vehicle manufacturers, General Motors sold 36,871 units (18.5% share), VW sold 32,818 units (16.5% share), FCA sold 27,674 units (13.9%), Renault sold 19,101 units (9.6%), Hyundai sold 18,047 units (9.1% share).
Among light commercial vehicle manufacturers, FCA sold 14,702 units (41.0% share), VW sold 5,437 units (15.2% share), GM sold 4,269 units (11.9% share), Toyota sold 3,679 units (10.3% share), Ford sold 1,895 units (5.3%).

In ANFAVEA's sales report by fuel type, sales of flexible-fuel vehicles was up 21.6% y/y to 206,391 units (market share of 88.0%), diesel vehicles were up 21.5% from a year ago with 21,656 units (market share of 9.2%), gasoline vehicles decreased 16.0% to 6,196 units (market share of 2.6%), and hybrid and electric vehicles increased 18.2% to 357 units.

Brazilian vehicle sales up 6.7% to 231,936 units in April (ANFAVEA)
The Associacao Nacional dos Fabricantes de Veiculos Automotores (ANFAVEA) announced that Brazilian new vehicle sales (including trucks and buses) in April increased 6.7% year-over-year (y/y) to 231,936 units.
Vehicle sales in April consisted of 188,667 passenger cars; 33,052 light commercial vehicles; 8,502 trucks; and 1,715 buses.
Among passenger vehicle manufacturers, General Motors sold 34,577 units (18.3% share), FCA sold 27,958 units (14.8%), VW sold 27,661 units (14.7% share), Hyundai sold 17,888 units (9.5%), Ford sold 17,781 units (9.4% share).
Among light commercial vehicle manufacturers, FCA sold 12,957 units (39.2% share), VW sold 5,190 units (15.7% share), Toyota sold 3,847 units (11.6% share), GM sold 3,414 units (10.3% share), Renault sold 2,208 units (6.7%).
The Federacao Nacional da Distribuicao de Veiculos Automotores announced passenger vehicle sales rankings by model for the month. The Chevrolet Onix was the best-selling passenger vehicle in April with 19,619 units followed by the Hyundai HB20 with 10,386 units, Ford Ka with 8,722 units, Renault Kwid with 7,319 units, and VW Gol with 7,180 units.
The Fiat Strada was the best-selling LCV in April with 6,128 units, followed by the Fiat Toro with 5,478 units, Toyota Hilux with 3,846 units, VW Saveiro with 3,341 units, and Chevrolet S10 with 2,292 units.
In ANFAVEA's sales report by fuel type, sales of flexible-fuel vehicles was up 5.3% y/y to 194,518 units (market share of 87.7%), diesel vehicles were up 14.0% from a year ago with 20,600 units (market share of 9.3%), gasoline vehicles decreased 11.6% to 6,311 units (market share of 2.8%), and hybrid and electric vehicles decreased 21.0% to 290 units.

Brazilian vehicle sales up 0.9% to 209,165 units in March (ANFAVEA)
The Associacao Nacional dos Fabricantes de Veiculos Automotores (ANFAVEA) announced that Brazilian new vehicle sales (including trucks and buses) in March increased 0.9% year-over-year (y/y) to 209,165 units.
Vehicle sales in March consisted of 170,148 passenger cars; 29,826 light commercial vehicles; 7,601 trucks; and 1,590 buses.
Among passenger vehicle manufacturers, General Motors sold 33,320 units (19.6% share), VW sold 24,334 units (14.3%), FCA sold 22,253 units (13.1% share), Renault sold 17,287 units (10.2%), Hyundai sold 15,029 units (8.8% share).
Among light commercial vehicle manufacturers, FCA sold 12,381 units (41.5% share), VW sold 4,484 units (15.0% share), Toyota sold 3,094 units (10.4% share), GM sold 3,011 units (10.1% share), Renault sold 1,767 units (5.9%).
The Federacao Nacional da Distribuicao de Veiculos Automotores announced passenger vehicle sales rankings by model for the month. The Chevrolet Onix was the best-selling passenger vehicle in March with 18,279 sales followed by the Hyundai HB20 with 9,051 sales, Ford Ka with 8,341 sales, Chevrolet Prisma with 7,122 sales, and VW Gol with 6,620 sales.
The Fiat Strada was the best-selling LCV in March with 5,286 sales, followed by the Fiat Toro with 4,955 sales, Toyota Hilux with 3,093 sales, VW Saveiro with 2,927 sales, and Chevrolet S10 with 1,865 sales.
In ANFAVEA's sales report by fuel type, sales of flexible-fuel vehicles was down 0.4% y/y to 175,578 units (market share of 87.8%), diesel vehicles were up 9.5% from a year ago with 18,310 units (market share of 9.2%), gasoline vehicles decreased 17.2% to 5,750 units (market share of 2.9%), and hybrid and electric vehicles decreased 8.4% to 336 units.

Brazilian vehicle sales up 26.6% to 198,641 units in February (ANFAVEA)
The Associacao Nacional dos Fabricantes de Veiculos Automotores (ANFAVEA) announced that Brazilian new vehicle sales (including trucks and buses) in February increased 26.6% year-over-year (y/y) to 198,641 units.
Vehicle sales in February consisted of 162,116 passenger cars; 28,157 light commercial vehicles; 6,876 trucks; and 1,492 buses.
Among passenger vehicle manufacturers, General Motors sold 31,052 units (19.2% share), FCA sold 26,516 units (16.4%), VW sold 21,307 units (13.1% share), Hyundai sold 14,155 units (8.7%), Ford sold 14,125 units (8.7% share), Renault sold 13,875 units (8.6%), and Toyota sold 11,395 units (7.0%).
Among light commercial vehicle manufacturers, FCA sold 11,327 units (40.2% share), VW sold 4,272 units (15.2% share), Toyota sold 2,902 units (10.3% share), GM sold 2,820 units (10.0% share), Renault sold 1,993 units (7.1%), and Ford sold 1,401 units (5.0% share).

The Fiat Strada was the best-selling LCV in February with 6,553 units, followed by the Fiat Toro with 3,361 units, VW Saveiro with 2,928 units, Toyota Hilux with 2,882 units and Chevrolet S10 with 1,907 units.
In ANFAVEA's sales report by fuel type, sales of flexible-fuel vehicles was up 26.1% y/y to 167,760 units (market share of 88.2%), diesel vehicles were up 21.3% from a year ago with 16,173 units (market share of 8.5%), gasoline vehicles increased 13.2% to 6,053 units (market share of 3.2%), and hybrid and electric vehicles increased 13.0% to 287 units.

Brazilian vehicle sales up 10.2% to 199,794 units in January (ANFAVEA)
The Associacao Nacional dos Fabricantes de Veiculos Automotores (ANFAVEA) announced that Brazilian new vehicle sales (including trucks and buses) in January increased 10.2% year-over-year (y/y) to 199,794 units.
Vehicle sales in January consisted of 163,414 passenger cars; 27,795 light commercial vehicles; 6,987 trucks; and 1,598 buses.
Among passenger vehicle manufacturers, General Motors sold 33,133 units (20.3% share), FCA sold 24,793 units (15.2%), VW sold 23,610 units (14.4% share), Ford sold 14,723 units (9.0% share), Renault sold 14,172 units (8.7%), and Toyota sold 13,221 units (8.1%).
Among light commercial vehicle manufacturers, FCA sold 10,314 vehicles (37.1% share), VW sold 4,281 vehicles (15.4% share), Toyota sold 3,257 vehicles (11.7% share), GM sold 3,083 vehicles (11.1% share), Renault sold 2,169 vehicles (7.8%), and Ford sold 1,532 vehicles (5.5% share).
The Federacao Nacional da Distribuicao de Veiculos Automotores announced passenger vehicle sales rankings by model for the month. The GM Onix was the best-selling passenger vehicle in January with 18,842 sales followed by the Ford Ka with 8,023 sales, Hyundai HB20 with 7,249 sales, GM Prisma with 6,924 sales, and VW Polo with 5,433 sales.
The Fiat Strada was the best-selling LCV in January with 4,790 sales, followed by the Fiat Toro with 4,033 sales, and Toyota Hilux with 3,257 sales.
In ANFAVEA's sales report by fuel type, sales of flexible-fuel vehicles was up 8.5% y/y to 167,381 units (market share of 87.5%), diesel vehicles were up 14.9% from a year ago with 17,626 units (market share of 9.2%), gasoline vehicles decreased 1.8% to 5,832 units (market share of 3.1%), and hybrid and electric vehicles increased 36.0% to 370 units.
