Brazilian vehicle sales down 15.1% in December, up 3.0% in 2021 (ANFAVEA)

The Associacao Nacional dos Fabricantes de Veiculos Automotores (ANFAVEA) announced that Brazilian new vehicle sales (including trucks and buses) in December decreased 15.1% year-over-year (y/y) to 207,053 units and full-year sales of 2,119,851 vehicles in 2021 were up 3.0% from 2020’s accumulated total.
For all of 2021, passenger car sales decreased 3.6% to 1,558,467 units, light commercial vehicles were up 23.5% to 418,643 unites, trucks up 43.5% to 128,679 and buses were up 0.9% to 14,062 unites.
Among passenger vehicle manufacturers, FCA sold 375,402 units (24.1% share), VW sold 267,647 units (17.2%), General Motors sold 204,919 units (13.1%). Among light commercial vehicle manufacturers, FCA sold 205,036 units (49.0%), Toyota sold 45,917 units (11.0%), GM sold 37,278 units (8.9%).
The Federacao Nacional da Distribuicao de Veiculos Automotores announced passenger vehicle sales rankings by model for the year. The Hyundai HB20 was the best-selling passenger vehicle in full-year 2021 with 86,455 sales, followed by Fiat Argo with 84,644 sales, the Jeep Renegade with 73,913 sales, Chevrolet Onix with 73,623 sales, Jeep Compass with 70,906 sales, VW Gol with 66,228 sales, and Fiat Mobi with 65,847 sales.
The Fiat Strada was the best-selling LCV in 2021 with 109,107 sales, followed by the Fiat Toro with 70,890 sales, Toyota Hilux with 45,893 sales, Chevrolet S10 with 35,045 sales, VW Saveiro with 26,751 sales, Fiat Fiorino with 20,602 sales, and Ford Ranger with 20,499 sales.
In ANFAVEA's sales report by fuel type in 2021, sales of flexible-fuel vehicles was down 2.4% y/y to 1,624,348 units (82.2% share), diesel vehicles were up 25.1% from a year ago with 264,185 units (13.4%), gasoline vehicles decreased 9.1% to 53,587 units (2.7%), and hybrid and electric vehicles increased 77.2% to 34,990 units (1.8%).

Brazilian vehicle sales down 23.1% to 172,964 units in November (ANFAVEA)
The Associacao Nacional dos Fabricantes de Veiculos Automores (ANFAVEA) announced that Brazilian vehicle sales (including trucks and buses) in November 2021 of 172,964 units represented a decrease of 23.1% from November 2020.
Vehicle sales in November consisted of 126,102 passenger cars; 35,347 light commercial vehicles; 10,472 trucks; and 1,043 buses.
Among passenger vehicle manufacturers, GM sold 25,317 units (20.1% share), FCA sold 25,039 units (19.9%), VW sold 19,011 units (15.1%), Hyundai sold 13,650 units (10.8%), and Toyota sold 10,217 units (8.1%).
Among light commercial vehicle manufacturers, FCA sold 16,317 vehicles (46.2% share), Toyota sold 4,105 vehicles (11.6%), GM sold 3,118 vehicles (8.8%), VW sold 2,679 units (7.6%) and Renault sold 2,105 units (6.0%).
The Chevrolet Onix was the best-selling passenger vehicle in November with 9,327 sales, followed by the Chevrolet Onix Plus with 7,521 sales, VW Gol with 6,866 sales, Fiat Argo with 6,340 sales, Hyundai Creta with 6,099 sales, and Chevrolet Tracker with 6,073 sales.
The Fiat Strada was the best-selling LCV in November with 8,535 sales, followed by the Fiat Toro with 5,921 sales, Toyota Hilux with 4,103 sales, Chevrolet S10 with 3,103 sales, and VW Saveiro with 2,096 sales.
In ANFAVEA's sales report by fuel type, sales of flexible-fuel vehicles were down 28.5% y/y to 131,895 units (81.7% share), diesel vehicles were up 0.9% from a year ago with 22,171 units (13.7%), gasoline vehicles decreased 32.7% to 3,878 units (2.4%), and hybrid and electric vehicles increased 57.1% to 3,505 units (2.2%).

 Brazilian vehicle sales down 24.5% to 162,349 units in October (ANFAVEA)

The Associacao Nacional dos Fabricantes de Veiculos Automores (ANFAVEA) announced that Brazilian vehicle sales (including trucks and buses) in October 2021 of 162,349 units represented a decrease of 24.5% from October 2020.
Vehicle sales in October consisted of 119,328 passenger cars; 31,069 light commercial vehicles; 11,047 trucks; and 905 buses.
Among passenger vehicle manufacturers, FCA sold 29,043 units (24.3% share), VW sold 23,484 units (19.7%), GM sold 15,293 units (12.8%), Hyundai sold 13,052 units (10.9%), and Toyota sold 8,913 units (7.5%).
Among light commercial vehicle manufacturers, FCA sold 13,622 vehicles (43.8% share), Toyota sold 3,814 vehicles (12.3%), GM sold 3,802 vehicles (12.2%), VW sold 2,515 units (8.1%) and Renault sold 1,471 units (4.7%).
The Fiat Argo was the best-selling passenger vehicle in October with 8,381 sales, followed by the Jeep Renegade with 6,723 sales, Jeep Compass with 6,097 sales, VW T-Cross with 6,008 sales, Hyundai HB20 with 5,844 sales, and Hyundai Creta with 5,492 sales.
The Fiat Strada was the best-selling LCV in October with 6,130 sales, followed by the Fiat Toro with 5,187 sales, Toyota Hilux with 3,814 sales, Chevrolet S10 with 3,775 sales, VW Saveiro with 2,174 sales and Fiat Fiorino with 1,775 sales.
In ANFAVEA's sales report by fuel type, sales of flexible-fuel vehicles were down 30.2% y/y to 122,731 units (81.6% share), diesel vehicles were down 3.1% from a year ago with 21,090 units (14.0%), gasoline vehicles decreased 35.9% to 3,789 units (2.5%), and hybrid and electric vehicles increased 22.6% to 2,787 units (1.9%).

Brazilian vehicle sales down 25.3% to 155,075 units in September (ANFAVEA)
The Associacao Nacional dos Fabricantes de Veiculos Automores (ANFAVEA) announced that Brazilian vehicle sales (including trucks and buses) in September 2021 of 155,075 units represented a decrease of 25.3% from September, 2020.
Vehicle sales in September consisted of 109,085 passenger cars; 33,510 light commercial vehicles; 11,626 trucks; and 854 buses.
Among passenger vehicle manufacturers, FCA sold 25,232 units (23.1% share), VW sold 18,791 units (17.2%), Hyundai sold 13,965 units (12.8%), GM sold 13,717 units (12.6%), and Toyota sold 8,243 units (7.6%).
Among light commercial vehicle manufacturers, FCA sold 15,267 vehicles (45.6% share), Toyota sold 4,400 vehicles (13.1%), GM sold 4,267 vehicles (12.7%), VW sold 1,890 units (5.6%), and Ford sold 1,363 units (4.1%).
The Federacao Nacional da Distribuicao de Veiculos Automotores announced passenger vehicle sales rankings by model for the month. The Hyundai HB20 was the best-selling passenger vehicle in September with 7,147 sales, followed by the Jeep Compass with 6,823 sales, VW T-Cross with 5,733 sales, Fiat Argo with 4.911 sales, Fiat Mobi with 4.574 sales, and Hyundai Creta with 4.550 sales.
The Fiat Toro was the best-selling LCV in September with 6,852 sales, followed by the Fiat Strada with 5,772 sales, Toyota Hilux with 4,396 sales, Chevrolet S10 with 4.234 sales, and Fiat Fiorino with 2.316 sales.
In ANFAVEA's sales report by fuel type, sales of flexible-fuel vehicles were down 34.3% y/y to 110,650 units (77.6% share), diesel vehicles were up 12.6% from a year ago with 25,036 units (17.6%), gasoline vehicles decreased 35.7% to 4,153 units (2.9%), and hybrid and electric vehicles increased 30.4% to 2,756 units (1.9%).

Brazilian vehicle sales down 5.8% to 172,784 units in August (ANFAVEA)
On August 6, the Associacao Nacional dos Fabricantes de Veiculos Automores (ANFAVEA) announced that Brazilian vehicle sales (including trucks and buses) in August 2021 of 172,784 units represented a decrease of 5.8% from August, 2020.
Vehicle sales in August consisted of 119,828 passenger cars; 38,729 light commercial vehicles; 12,951 trucks; and 1,276 buses.
Among passenger vehicle manufacturers, FCA sold 34,715 units (29.0% share), VW sold 20,808 units (17.4%), Hyundai sold 13,813 units (11.5%), Toyota sold 13,112 units (10.9%), and Honda sold 8,074 units (6.7%).
Among light commercial vehicle manufacturers, FCA sold 17,925 vehicles (46.3% share), GM sold 4,832 vehicles (12.5%), Toyota sold 4,364 vehicles (11.3%), VW sold 2,472 units (6.4%), and Ford sold 2,185 units (5.6%).
The Federacao Nacional da Distribuicao de Veiculos Automotores announced passenger vehicle sales rankings by model for the month. The Fiat Argo was the best-selling passenger vehicle in August with 7,711 sales, followed by the Fiat Mobi with 7,538 sales, Jeep Compass with 6,819 sales, Hyundai HB20 with 6,795 sales, Jeep Renegade with 6,710 sales, and VW T-Cross with 6,698 sales.
The Fiat Strada was the best-selling LCV in August with 9,111 sales, followed by the Fiat Toro with 6,685 sales, Chevrolet S10 with 4,798 sales, Toyota Hilux with 4,363 sales, and Ford Ranger with 2,180 sales.
In ANFAVEA's sales report by fuel type, sales of flexible-fuel vehicles were down 17.6% y/y to 122,227 units (77.1% share), diesel vehicles were up 53.0% from a year ago with 27,105 units (17.1%), gasoline vehicles decreased 9.0% to 5,352 units (3.4%), and hybrid and electric vehicles increased 99.3% to 3,873 units (2.4%).

Brazilian vehicle sales up 0.6% to 175,453 units in July (ANFAVEA)
On August 6, the Associacao Nacional dos Fabricantes de Veiculos Automores (ANFAVEA) announced that Brazilian vehicle sales (including trucks and buses) in July 2021 of 175,453 units represented a increase of 0.6% from July, 2020.
Vehicle sales in July consisted of 123,598 passenger cars; 38,608 light commercial vehicles; 11,977 trucks; and 1,270 buses.
Among passenger vehicle manufacturers, FCA (Stellantis)* sold 38,669 units (31.3% share), VW sold 15,420 units (12.5%), Hyundai sold 14,474 units (11.7%), Toyota sold 14,069 units (11.4%), and Renault sold 9,749 units (7.9%).
Among light commercial vehicle manufacturers, FCA sold 18,632 vehicles (48.3% share), Toyota sold 4,577 vehicles (11.9%), GM sold 4,244 vehicles (11.0%), Renault sold 2,593 units (6.7%), and VW sold 2,266 units (5.9%).

The Fiat Strada was the best-selling LCV in July with 9,439 sales, followed by the Fiat Toro with 7,030 sales, Toyota Hilux with 4,576 sales, Chevrolet S10 with 4,142 sales, and Renault Oroch with 1,872 sales.
In ANFAVEA's sales report by fuel type, sales of flexible-fuel vehicles were down 7.4% y/y to 127,771 units (78.8% share), diesel vehicles were up 41.9% from a year ago with 25,381 units (15.6%), gasoline vehicles decreased 6.9% to 5,429 units (3.3%), and hybrid and electric vehicles increased 117.3% to 3,625 units (2.2%).

Brazilian vehicle sales up 37.4% to 182,453 units in June (ANFAVEA)
On July 7, the Associacao Nacional dos Fabricantes de Veiculos Automores (ANFAVEA) announced that Brazilian vehicle sales (including trucks and buses) in June 2021 of 182,453 units represented a decrease of 37.4% from June, 2020.
Vehicle sales in June consisted of 133,332 passenger cars; 36,319 light commercial vehicles; 11,372 trucks; and 1,430 buses.
Among passenger vehicle manufacturers, FCA (Stellantis)* sold 40,163 units (30.1% share), VW sold 18,822 units (14.1%), Hyundai sold 16,090 units (12.1%), Toyota sold 12,953 units (9.7%), and Renault sold 11,253 units (8.4%).
Among light commercial vehicle manufacturers, FCA sold 17,955 vehicles (49.4% share), VW sold 3,876 vehicles (10.7%), GM sold 3,560 vehicles (9.8%), Toyota sold 3,535 units (9.7%), and Renault sold 1,841 units (5.1%).
The Federacao Nacional da Distribuicao de Veiculos Automotores announced passenger vehicle sales rankings by model for the month. The Fiat Argo was the best-selling passenger vehicle in June with 9,382 sales, followed by the Hyundai HB20 with 7,609 sales, Fiat Mobi with 7,529 sales, Jeep Renegade with 7,504 sales, Renault Kwid with 6,083 sales, Jeep Compass with 6,046 sales, and Hyundai Creta with 5,902 sales.
The Fiat Strada was the best-selling LCV in June with 9,697 sales, followed by the Fiat Toro with 5,909 sales, Toyota Hilux with 3,535 sales, Chevrolet S10 with 3,321 sales, and VW Saveiro with 2,932 sales.
In ANFAVEA's sales report by fuel type, sales of flexible-fuel vehicles were up 36.2% y/y to 139,318 units (82.1% share), diesel vehicles were up 52.5% from a year ago with 21,058 units (12.4%), gasoline vehicles increased 7.0% to 5,768 units (3.4%), and hybrid and electric vehicles increased 162.9% to 3,507 units (2.1%).

Brazilian vehicle sales up 203.4% to 188,678 units in May (ANFAVEA)
The Associacao Nacional dos Fabricantes de Veiculos Automotores (ANFAVEA) announced that Brazilian new vehicle sales (including trucks and buses) in May increased 203.4% year-over-year (y/y) to 188,678 units.
Vehicle sales in May consisted of 142,701 passenger cars; 32,873 light commercial vehicles; 11,497 trucks; and 1,607 buses.
Among passenger vehicle manufacturers, FCA (Stellantis)* sold 38,226 units (26.8% share), VW sold 25,400 units (17.8%), Hyundai sold 16,206 units (11.4%), GM sold 14,826 units (10.4%), and Toyota sold 12,433 units (8.7%).
Among light commercial vehicle manufacturers, FCA sold 15,978 vehicles (48.6% share), VW sold 3,561 vehicles (10.8%), Toyota sold 3,133 vehicles (9.5%), GM sold 2,470 units (7.5%), and Renault sold 1,784 units (5.4%).
The Federacao Nacional da Distribuicao de Veiculos Automotores announced passenger vehicle sales rankings by model for the month. The Fiat Argo was the best-selling passenger vehicle in May with 10,929 sales, followed by the Fiat Mobi with 7,443 sales, Jeep Renegade with 7,361 sales, Hyundai HB20 with 7,290 sales, Hyundai Creta with 6,983 sales, VW Gol with 6,795 sales, and Jeep Compass with 6,135 sales.
The Fiat Strada was the best-selling LCV in May with 9,918 sales, followed by the Fiat Toro with 3,942 sales, Toyota Hilux with 3,132 sales, VW Saveiro with 2,457 sales, and Chevrolet S10 with 1,946 sales.
In ANFAVEA's sales report by fuel type, sales of flexible-fuel vehicles were up 228.6% y/y to 147,002 units (83.7% share), diesel vehicles were up 127.8% from a year ago with 20,547 units (11.7%), gasoline vehicles increased 109.6% to 4,923 units (2.8%), and hybrid and electric vehicles increased 416.1% to 3,102 units (1.8%).

Brazilian vehicle sales up 214.2% to 175,116 units in April (ANFAVEA)
The Associacao Nacional dos Fabricantes de Veiculos Automotores (ANFAVEA) announced that Brazilian new vehicle sales (including trucks and buses) in April increased 214.2% year-over-year (y/y) to 175,116 units.
Vehicle sales in April consisted of 127,463 passenger cars; 36,694 light commercial vehicles; 9,785 trucks; and 1,174 buses.
Among passenger vehicle manufacturers, FCA (Stellantis)* sold 27,817 units (21.8% share), VW sold 24,530 units (19.2%), GM sold 18,420 units (14.5%), Hyundai sold 14,114 units (11.1%), and Toyota sold 10,080 units (7.9%).
Among light commercial vehicle manufacturers, FCA sold 20,776 vehicles (56.6% share), Toyota sold 3,375 vehicles (9.2%), VW sold 3,120 vehicles (8.5%), GM sold 2,472 units (6.7%), and Ford sold 2,007 units (5.5%).

The Fiat Strada was the best-selling LCV in April with 12,581 sales, followed by the Fiat Toro with 6,682 sales, Toyota Hilux with 3,373 sales, VW Saveiro with 2,253 sales, and Ford Ranger with 2,007 sales.
In ANFAVEA's sales report by fuel type, sales of flexible-fuel vehicles were up 231.4% y/y to 136,352 units (83.1% share), diesel vehicles were up 144.0% from a year ago with 20,955 units (12.8%), gasoline vehicles increased 220.6% to 4,142 units (2.5%), and hybrid and electric vehicles increased 512.7% to 2,708 units (1.6%).

Brazilian vehicle sales up 15.7% to 189,389 units in March (ANFAVEA)
The Associacao Nacional dos Fabricantes de Veiculos Automotores (ANFAVEA) announced that Brazilian new vehicle sales (including trucks and buses) in March increased 15.7% year-over-year (y/y) to 189,389 units.
Vehicle sales in March consisted of 141,952 passenger cars; 35,498 light commercial vehicles; 10,759 trucks; and 1,180 buses.
Among passenger vehicle manufacturers, FCA (Stellantis)* sold 30,301 units (21.3% share), VW sold 29,560 units (20.8%), GM sold 21,499 units (15.1%), Hyundai sold 16,195 units (11.4%), and Renault sold 10,495 units (7.4%).
Among light commercial vehicle manufacturers, FCA sold 19,139 vehicles (53.9% share), Toyota sold 3,236 vehicles (9.1%), VW sold 3,082 vehicles (8.7%), Ford sold 2,388 units (6.7%), and GM sold 1,739 units (4.9%).
The Federacao Nacional da Distribuicao de Veiculos Automotores announced passenger vehicle sales rankings by model for the month. The Hyundai HB20 was the best-selling passenger vehicle in March with 8,012 sales, followed by the Chevrolet Onix with 7,933 sales, VW Gol with 6,891 sales, Fiat Mobi with 6,275 sales, GM Tracker with 6,410 sales, Jeep Renegade with 6,186 sales, and Hyundai Creta with 6,173 sales.
The Fiat Strada was the best-selling LCV in March with 10,268 sales, followed by the Fiat Toro with 6,708 sales, Toyota Hilux with 3,233 sales, VW Saveiro with 2,910 sales, and Ford Ranger with 2,386 sales.
In ANFAVEA's sales report by fuel type, sales of flexible-fuel vehicles were up 12.6% y/y to 152,104 units (85.7% share), diesel vehicles were up 24.6% from a year ago with 19,549 units (11.0%), gasoline vehicles decreased 2.0% to 3,925 units (2.2%), and hybrid and electric vehicles increased 19.2% to 1,872 units (1.1%).

Brazilian vehicle sales down 16.7% to 167,391 units in February (ANFAVEA)
The Associacao Nacional dos Fabricantes de Veiculos Automotores (ANFAVEA) announced that Brazilian new vehicle sales (including trucks and buses) in February decreased 16.7% year-over-year (y/y) to 167,391 units.
Vehicle sales in February consisted of 128,111 passenger cars; 30,377 light commercial vehicles; 7,781 trucks; and 1,122 buses.
Among passenger vehicle manufacturers, FCA(Stellantis)* sold 26,760 units (20.9% share), VW sold 24,238 units (18.9%), GM sold 23,068 units (18.0%), Hyundai sold 14,477 units (11.3%), and Renault sold 9,067 units (7.1%).
Among light commercial vehicle manufacturers, FCA sold 17,212 vehicles (56.7% share), Toyota sold 2,664 vehicles (8.8%), VW sold 2,549 vehicles (8.4%), GM sold 1,894 units (6.2%), and Renault sold 1,537 units (5.1%).

The Fiat Strada was the best-selling LCV in February with 9,371 sales, followed by the Fiat Toro with 5,626 sales, Toyota Hilux with 2,663 sales, VW Saveiro with 2,523 sales, and Fiat Fiorino with 2,053 sales.
In ANFAVEA's sales report by fuel type, sales of flexible-fuel vehicles were down 17.8% y/y to 137,582 units (86.8% share), diesel vehicles were down 14.6% from a year ago with 15,780 units (10.0%), gasoline vehicles decreased 30.6% to 3,737 units (2.4%), and hybrid and electric vehicles decreased 32.3% to 1,389 units (0.9%).

Brazilian vehicle sales down 11.5% to 171,146 units in January (ANFAVEA)
The Associacao Nacional dos Fabricantes de Veiculos Automotores (ANFAVEA) announced that Brazilian new vehicle sales (including trucks and buses) in January decreased 11.5% year-over-year (y/y) to 171,146 units due to the coronavirus.
Vehicle sales in January consistesd of 130,804 passenger cars; 31,783 light commercial vehicles; 7,538 trucks; and 1,021 buses.
Among passenger vehicle manufacturers, FCA sold 26,640 units (20.4% share), GM sold 23,972 units (18.3%), VW sold 23,891 units (18.3%), Hyundai sold 13,880 units (10.6%), and Renault sold 8,928 units (6.8%).
Among light commercial vehicle manufacturers, *FCA(Stellantis) sold 16,374 vehicles (51.5% share), Toyota sold 3,304 vehicles (10.4%), VW sold 2,685 vehi
cles (8.4%), GM sold 2,642 units (8.3%), and Ford sold 1,927 units (6.1%).
The Federacao Nacional da Distribuicao de Veiculos Automotores announced passenger vehicle sales rankings by model for the month. The Chevrolet Onix was the best-selling passenger vehicle in January with 10,567 sales, followed by the Hyundai HB20 with 7,936 sales, Chevrolet Onix Plus with 7,139 sales, Jeep Renegade with 7,091 sales, VW Gol with 6,277 sales, VW T-Cross with 5,241 sales, and Jeep Compass with 5,029 sales.
The Fiat Strada was the best-selling LCV in January with 9,232 sales, followed by the Fiat Toro with 5,233 sales, Toyota Hilux with 3,301 sales, Chevrolet S10 with 2,520 sales, and VW Saveiro with 2,497 sales.
In ANFAVEA's sales report by fuel type in January, sales of flexible-fuel vehicles was down 12.9% y/y to 138,279 units (85.0% share), diesel vehicles were down 3.4% from a year ago with 19,097 units (11.7%), gasoline vehicles decreased 16.0% to 3,890 units (2.4%), and hybrid and electric vehicles decreased 15.8% to 1,321 units (0.8%).
