Running from March 23 - April 3, 2022, Thailand's 43rd Bangkok International Motor Show (BIMS 43), in an exhibition space of 170,960 square meters, was held under the theme concept of "Keep Moving Forward Together." Exhibitors included leading international automotive and motorcycle brands such as Ford, BMW, MINI, Mercedes-Benz, Great Wall Motors, Rolls-Royce, Aston Martin, Maserati, Peugeot, Jeep, Toyota, Lexus, MG, Mazda, Suzuki, Isuzu, Hyundai, Audi, Honda, Mitsubishi, Nissan, Volvo, Porsche, Bentley, Kia, Subaru, Takano, Thai Honda Manufacturing, Suzuki Motosales, Yamaha, BMW Motorrad, Harley-Davidson, Ducati, Bajaj, KTM, and Husqvarna. This event is expected to result in THB 30 billion in circulation.
Models showcased at the event included the BMW i4, BMW X4 M Competition, Mercedes-Benz C 220 d AMG, Mercedes-Benz C 43 4MATIC Coupé, the next generation Ford (Ranger, Ranger Raptor, Everest), GWM's TANK 300 HEV and ORA Good Cat GT, Toyota Veloz, Toyota bZ4X Concept, Toyota e-Palette Concept, Lexus UX 300e, Lexus NX450h+, Honda HR-V e:HEV, MG ZS EV, MG HS, MG HS PHEV, Nissan Almera, Mazda 3, Porsche Taycan Cross Turismo, Volvo XC40 Pure Electric, and Volvo C40 Pure Electric models.
Like the 2021 BIMS, the "EV Smart City" zone of the venue presented innovations in electrified vehicles and electronic equipment. This year, eight BEV and PHEV models from leading manufacturers, including BMW, Great Wall Motor, MG, MINI, Mitsubishi Motors, Nissan, Porsche, and Volvo, were displayed in this zone.
Introduced in 2019, the "Car Buddy by GPI" app is still available on the Mac App Store to support visitors with information about cars, maintenance, and roadside assistance as well as offering campaigns and promotions from many car brands.
Amidst the prolonged pandemic, the enforcement of strict COVID-19 preventive measures in conformance with government policy was in force to reduce the risk of exposure. All visitors were required to present proof of at least 2 doses of any COVID vaccine and to always wear a face mask at all times while visiting the show and sterilize their hands with hand sanitizer before entering an exhibit vehicle.
