Summary
A press conference on the adoption of RISC-V (reduced instruction set computer) for next-generation in-vehicle microcontrollers, organized by Infineon Technologies Japan K.K., was held at the company's headquarters in April 2025.
Infineon Technologies AG (Infineon) announced in March this year in Germany that in addition to its existing automotive microcontroller portfolio, it will launch a "RISC-V-based automotive microcontroller" that supports Software Defined Vehicles (SDV) to become an open standard in the automotive industry within the next few years, leading the market.
