Presentation of the Commercial Vehicle Carbon Neutrality Technology Roadmap 1.0

The 30th China Society of Automotive Engineers Conference and Exhibition (SAECCE 2023) was held in Beijing from October 25-27, 2023. The conference was held under the six major themes of Energy-saving Powertrains, New Energy, Chassis Systems, Intelligent Connected, Vehicle Integration and Performance, and Common Technologies, and included one plenary session, two main forums, and three Chinese Academy of Engineering member forums. More than 60 sessions, including 19 technical sessions and 42 thematic sessions, were held. More than 150 companies and brands participated in the technical exhibition held concurrently, covering 15,000 square meters of exhibition space and attracting about 10,000 visitors.

Mr. Kaiguo LI, Chairman of the Supervisory Board of the China Society of Automotive Engineers and Director of the Expert Committee of the Commercial Vehicle Carbon-neutral Platform (CVCP), released the research results of "Commercial Vehicle Carbon Neutrality Technology Roadmap 1.0" at the SAECCE 2023 Plenary Session on October 25, 2023. In terms of China's technology roadmap, by 2030 commercial vehicles will focus on the development of energy-saving and low-carbon internal combustion engines and the gradual popularization of NEV (New Energy Vehicles: BEVs (battery electric vehicles), PHV (plug-in hybrids), and FCV (fuel cell vehicles)) commercial vehicles. In addition, after 2030, the development of NEV commercial vehicles will accelerate rapidly, and eventually NEV commercial vehicles will become the main focus. Zero-carbon conventional-fuel engines will develop in energy-rich areas, and internal combustion engines will exist in small quantities. From the perspective of energy supply, zero-carbon energy such as green electricity and green hydrogen will gradually become the main energy supply source. The battery charging and swapping network and hydrogen stations would gradually become the main energy supply facilities, while other zero-carbon conventional-fuel supply stations would be developed intensively in energy-rich areas. This report briefly summarizes the presentation on the research results of the "Commercial Vehicle Carbon Neutrality Technology Roadmap 1.0".
