Business Overview

-The Company is a subsidiary of Continental AG, a major automotive part supplier based in Germany that currently owns 28 manufacturing sites, 18 R&D centers and about 24,000 employees in China.

-On March 15, 2019, the Company changed its name from Continental Automotive Holding (Shanghai) Co., Ltd. to Continental Automotive Holding Co., Ltd.

-Continental currently consists of three business groups: Automotive Technologies, Rubber Technologies, and Powertrain Technologies. The Automotive Technology Group consists of two divisions: Autonomous Mobility & Safety (AMS) and Automotive Networking & Information (VNI). The Rubber Technology Group consists of two divisions, Tire and ContiTech. The Powertrain Technology Group will be operated by Vitesco Technologies, a new company established in October 2019 by spinning off the Powertrain division.

-Affected by the spread of the new coronavirus infection, sales in 2020 fell 15.2% year-on-year to € 37.7 billion.

-Starting in 2022, Continental will fully promote carbon neutrality in zero-emission automobiles, buses, trains and other vehicles around the world. By 2040, all of the Company’s production processes will be carbon-neutral, and by 2050 at the latest, all operations companywide will be fully carbon-neutral. By doing so, the Company is aiming be carbon-neutral in the end-to-end value chain.
