Canadian vehicle sales down 8.0% in December, down 2.6% for 2018
Canadian vehicle sales in December fell 8.0% from the same month in 2017, to 114,289 units.
SUV and pickup sales, at 85,565 units, were down 6.5% in December and passenger car sales, at 28,724 units, were down 12.1% compared to December 2017.
Full-year vehicle sales of 1,984,992 units in 2018 were down 2.6% from 2017, with passenger car sales down 9.7% and SUV and pickup sales up 0.6% from 2017 levels.
Combined sales in December for the Detroit Big 3 were down 23.9% to 41,825 units, while sales of all foreign nameplates combined were up 4.6% to 72,464 units.
Of the Big Three manufacturers, GM was down 30.0%, while Ford and FCA were down 8.4% and 32.5%, respectively, from last December.
Among Japanese automakers, Toyota was up 28.0%, Nissan was down 1.6%, Honda was up 11.2% and Subaru sales were up 3.1% in December.
Hyundai and Kia sales were down 5.5% and 4.0%, respectively.
Among German companies, Mercedes-Benz was up 0.1%, BMW brand was down 20.8%, VW brand was up 17.6%, and Audi sales were down 25.6% from December 2017.

Canadian vehicle sales in November decreased 9.4% from the same month in 2017, to 143,668 units.
SUV and pickup sales, at 104,637 units, were down 8.7% in November, while passenger car sales, at 39,031 units, were down 11.4% compared to 2017.
Combined sales in November for the Detroit Big 3 were down 20.4% to 52,875 units, while sales of all foreign nameplates combined were down 1.5% to 90,793 units.
Of the Big Three manufacturers, General Motors sales fell 18.3%, Ford sales fell 10.7%, and FCA sales dropped 35.1% from last November.
Among Japanese automakers, Toyota, Nissan and Subaru sales were up 11.5%, 1.3% and 4.8% respectively, while Honda sales were down 10.2% from last year.
Hyundai sales were up 10.0%, while Kia sales were down 17.3% from last November.
Among German companies, Mercedes-Benz sales were down 15.9%, BMW brand sales were up 4.5%, VW brand sales were down 2.6%, and Audi sales were up 11.8% compared to last November.

Canadian vehicle sales in October decreased 1.9% from the same month in 2017, to 161,125 units.
SUV and pickup sales, at 115,688 units, were up 0.2% in October, while passenger car sales, at 45,437 units, were down 6.9% compared to 2017.
Combined sales in October for the Detroit Big 3 were down 8.7% to 59,457 units, while sales of all foreign nameplates combined were up 2.6% to 101,668 units.
Of the Big Three manufacturers, General Motors sales fell 12.9%, Ford sales increased 1.6%, and FCA sales fell 14.8% from last October.
Among Japanese automakers, Toyota, Nissan and Subaru sales were up 9.9%, 7.7% and 11.1% respectively, while Honda sales were down 8.7% from last year.
Hyundai sales were up 12.0%, while Kia sales were down 4.1% from last October.
Among German companies, Mercedes-Benz sales were down 5.1%, BMW brand sales were down 7.4%, VW brand sales were up 6.3%, and Audi sales were down 1.9% compared to last October.

Canadian vehicle sales in September decreased 7.4% from the same month in 2017, to 172,974 units.
SUV and pickup sales, at 123,696 units, were down 4.7% in September, while passenger car sales, at 49,278 units, were down 13.7% compared to 2017.
Combined sales in September for the Detroit Big 3 were down 8.8% to 69,795 units, while sales of all foreign nameplates combined were down 6.4% to 103,179 units.
Of the Big Three manufacturers, General Motors sales fell 6.1%, Ford sales fell 14.1%, and FCA sales fell 4.0% from last September.
Among Japanese automakers, Toyota, Nissan, and Honda sales were down 8.0%, 2.3%, and 4.3%, respectively, while Subaru sales were up 9.4% from last year.
Hyundai sales were down 2.4%, while Kia sales were down 30.9% from last September.
Among German companies, Mercedes-Benz sales were down 19.1%, BMW brand sales were up 5.5%, VW brand sales were down 12.5%, and Audi sales were up 0.1% compared to last September.

Canadian vehicle sales in August decreased 1.6% from the same month in 2017, to 180,942 units.
SUV and pickup sales, at 128,100 units, were up 2.6% in August, while passenger car sales, at 52,842 units, were down 10.6% compared to 2017.
Combined sales in August for the Detroit Big 3 were down 3.8% to 73,066 units, while sales of all foreign nameplates combined were down 0.1% to 107,876 units.
Of the Big Three manufacturers, General Motors sales fell 10.1%, Ford sales were up 7.1%, and FCA sales were down 9.6% from last August.
Among Japanese automakers, Toyota, Nissan, Honda, and Subaru sales were up 2.4%, 1.5%, and 0.3%, and 1.7%, respectively, from last year.
Hyundai sales were up 9.8%, while Kia sales were down 3.6% from last August.
Among German companies, Mercedes-Benz sales were down 20.5%, BMW brand sales were up 8.2%, VW brand sales were down 22.2%, and Audi sales were down 5.8% compared to last August.

Canadian vehicle sales fall 3.6% in JulyCanadian vehicle sales in July decreased 3.6% from the same month in 2017, to 175,317 units.
SUV and pickup sales, at 122,299 units, were down 1.1% in July, while passenger car sales, at 53,018 units, were down 9.0% compared to 2017.
Combined sales in July for the Detroit Big 3 were down 10.7% to 68,765 units, while sales of all foreign nameplates combined were up 1.6% to 106,552 units.
Of the Big Three manufacturers, General Motors sales fell 2.4%, Ford sales were up 0.9%, and FCA sales were down 33.3% from last July.
Among Japanese automakers, Toyota, Nissan, and Honda sales were down 0.5%, 1.8%, and 0.9% respectively, while Subaru sales were up 13.2% from last year.
Hyundai sales were up 9.0%, and Kia sales were up 7.9% from last July.
Among German companies, Mercedes-Benz sales, BMW brand sales, VW brand sales, and Audi sales were down 4.4%, 8.2%, 2.9%, and 18.1%, respectively, compared to last July.

SUV and pickup sales, at 139,003 units, were up 1.4% in June, while passenger car sales, at 61,153 units, were down 8.0% compared to 2017.
Combined sales in June for the Detroit Big 3 were down 6.4% to 81,296 units, while sales of all foreign nameplates combined were up 1.9% to 118,860 units.
Of the Big Three manufacturers, Ford sales were down 4.8%, General Motors sales were up 1.8%, and FCA sales were down 16.5% from last June.
Among Japanese automakers, Toyota was down 1.1% and Honda was down 2.4%. While Nissan, Mazda, Subaru, Mitsubishi sales in June were up 0.9%, 7.8%, 5.1%, 18.1%, respectively, from last year.
Hyundai sales were up 5.3%, and Kia sales were up 2.3% from last June.
Among German companies, Mercedes-Benz and BMW brand sales were down 2.4% and 2.6%, respectively, compared to last June.
VW brand sales were up 3.1% in June and Audi sales were up 0.1% compared to the previous year.

Combined sales in May for the Detroit Big 3 were down 4.5% to 94,365 units, while sales of all foreign nameplates combined were up 2.5% to 121,042 units.
Of the Big Three manufacturers, General Motors sales were up 5.4%, Ford sales were down 3.3%, and FCA sales were down 15.0% from last May.

Canadian vehicle sales in April decreased 2.7% from the same month in 2017, to 191,856 units.
SUV and pickup sales, at 133,773 units, were up 2.2% in April, while passenger car sales, at 58,083 units, were down 12.4% compared to 2017.
Combined sales in April for the Detroit Big 3 were down 6.8% to 82,632 units, while sales of all foreign nameplates combined were up 0.7% to 109,224 units.
Of the Big Three manufacturers, General Motors, Ford, and FCA sales were down 4.6%, 1.1% and 15.8%, respectively, from last April.
Among Japanese automakers, Toyota, Nissan, and Subaru sales in April were up 0.9%, 10.9%, 3.4%, respectively, while Honda sales were down 7.1% from last year.
Hyundai sales were down 14.4%, as Kia sales were up 1.3% from last April.
Among German companies, Mercedes-Benz and BMW brand sales were up 8.3% and 10.8%, respectively, compared to last April.
VW brand sales were up 4.4% in April and Audi sales were up 13.9% compared to the previous year.

Canadian vehicle sales in March decreased 0.6% from the same month in 2017, to 186,447 units.
SUV and pickup sales, at 132,515 units, were up 5.2% in March and passenger car sales, at 53,932 units, were down 12.4% compared to 2017.
Combined sales in March for the Detroit Big 3 were down 2.9% to 80,699 units, while sales of all foreign nameplates combined were up 1.3% to 105,748 units.
Of the Big Three manufacturers, GM was up 0.1% from last March, while Ford and FCA were down 1.6% and 7.7%, respectively.
Among Japanese automakers, Toyota, Mazda, Subaru and Mitsubishi sales in March were up 9.7%, 1.5%, 3.8%, and 39.0%, respectively.
Hyundai sales were down 12.2% and Kia sales were up 7.2% from last March.
Among German companies, Mercedes-Benz and BMW brand sales were both down 3.7% compared to last March.
VW brand sales were up 31.8% in March and Audi sales were up 14.0% compared to the previous year.

SUV and pickup sales, at 89,651 units, were up 5.6% in February and passenger car sales, at 35,879 units, were down 6.0% compared to 2017.
Combined sales in February for the Detroit Big 3 were up 1.3% to 55,313 units, while sales of all foreign nameplates combined were up 2.6% to 70,217 units.
Of the Big Three manufacturers, Ford, and FCA were down 2.4% and 1.5%, respectively, while GM was up 8.8% from last February.
Among Japanese automakers, Toyota, Nissan, Honda, and Subaru sales in February were up 0.9%, 3.2%, 2.5%, and 9.7%, respectively.
Hyundai sales were down 11.0% and Kia sales were down 4.3% from last February.
Among German companies, Mercedes-Benz and BMW brand sales were up 0.2% and 6.2%, respectively, compared to last February.
VW brand sales were up 32.3% in February and Audi sales were up 21.9% compared to the previous year.

Canadian vehicle sales in January increased 5.7% from the same month in 2017, to 117,281 units.
SUV and pickup sales, at 85,906 units, were up 9.1% in January and passenger car sales, at 31,375 units, were down 2.6% compared to 2017.
Combined sales in January for the Detroit Big 3 were up 1.5% to 51,013 units, while sales of all foreign nameplates combined were up 9.2% to 66,268 units.
Of the Big Three manufacturers, Ford, and FCA were down 4.4% and 3.7%, respectively, while GM was up 15.0% from last January.
Among Japanese automakers, Toyota, Nissan, Honda, and Subaru sales in January were up 2.8%, 5.3%, 31.5%, and 14.8%, respectively.
Hyundai sales were down 11.6% and Kia sales were down 5.2% from last January.
Among German companies, Mercedes-Benz sales were down 4.6%, while BMW brand sales were up 15.1% from last January.
