CAMPI-TMA’s vehicle sales in Philippines up 21.9% YoY in 2023 with 429,807 units
Reported on January 18, 2024, the joint report recently shared by the Chamber of Automotive Manufacturers of the Philippines Inc. (CAMPI) and Truck Manufacturers Association (TMA) showed that car sales in December 2023 improved 5.1% YoY to reach 39,153 units, including sales of commercial vehicles and passenger cars that reached 29,554 units (up 3.2% YoY) and 9,599 units (up 11.4% YoY), respectively.
In 2023, CAMPI-TMA sales grew 21.9% to reach 429,807 units, exceeding the projection of 423,000 - 425,000 units. Sales of passenger cars in 2023 jumped 27.2% to 109,264 units, while commercial vehicle sales posted a 20.2% growth to 320,543 units.
According to CAMPI president, 2023 was a very strong year for the local automotive market, propelled by sustained consumer demand, easier access to credit, and improved supply conditions across all brands. A positive economic outlook, new model introductions, and the electrification trend are expected to contribute to record-breaking sales in 2024.
In 2023, Toyota led the market with a 46.5% market share, followed by Mitsubishi Motors, Ford, Nissan, and Suzuki.

CAMPI-TMA’s vehicle sales in Philippines up 7.6% YoY in November 2023 with 37,683 units
Reported on December 21, 2023, the joint report recently shared by the Chamber of Automotive Manufacturers of the Philippines Inc. (CAMPI) and Truck Manufacturers Association (TMA) showed that car sales in November 2023 soared 7.6% YoY to reach 37,683 units, including sales of commercial vehicles and passenger cars that reached 28,114 units (up 7.7% YoY) and 9,569 units (up 7.1% YoY), respectively. CAMPI-TMA sales in November decreased slightly from 38,128 units noted in October. This drop followed buyers’ anticipation of year-end promotions that typically close the year. In the month of November, Toyota still led the market, followed by Mitsubishi Motors, Ford, Nissan, and Suzuki.In the first 11 months of 2023, CAMPI-TMA sales climbed 23.9% from the same period in 2022 to reach 390,654 units, of which sales of commercial vehicles reached 290,989 units, while sales of passenger cars reached 99,665 units. The YTD figure has already surpassed 2019’s full year total of 369,941 units (pre-pandemic period).CAMPI added that the year-end 2023 total may even hit 425,000 units, surpassing the forecast of 423,000 units.

CAMPI-TMA’s vehicle sales in Philippines up 18.6% YoY in October 2023 with 38,128 units
Reported on November 24, 2023, the joint report recently shared by the Chamber of Automotive Manufacturers of the Philippines Inc. (CAMPI) and Truck Manufacturers Association (TMA) showed that car sales in October 2023 grew 18.6% YoY to reach 38,128 units, including sales of commercial vehicles and passenger cars that reached 28,041 units (up 17.6% YoY) and 10,087 units (up 21.6% YoY), respectively.
In the first 10 months of 2023, CAMPI-TMA sales soared 25.9% from the same period in 2022 to reach 352,971 units, of which sales of commercial vehicles reached 262,875 units, up 24.0% YoY, while sales of passenger cars jumped 31.8% YoY to 90,096 units.
In the first 10 months of 2023, Toyota Motor Philippines Corp. still led the market as it held a 46.0% market share, followed by Mitsubishi Motors Philippines Corp. (18.5% share) and Ford Motor Co. Phils. Inc with a 7.4% market share.
According to CAMPI president, vehicle sales were sustained by aggressive marketing activities and supply improvement across all brands. The rising demand was also supported by easier access to credit. By the end of October, CAMPI-TMA have already achieved 83% of the 2023 forecast.

CAMPI-TMA’s vehicle sales in Philippines up 9.5% YoY in September 2023 with 38,628 units
Reported on October 23, 2023, the latest joint report by the Chamber of Automotive Manufacturers of the Philippines Inc. (CAMPI) and Truck Manufacturers Association (TMA) showed that car sales in September 2023 improved 9.5% YoY to reach 38,628 units, including sales of commercial vehicles and passenger cars that reached 29,070 units (up 6.5% YoY) and 9,558 units (up 19.8% YoY), respectively. In the first 9 months of 2023, CAMPI-TMA sales grew 26.87% from the same period in 2022 to reach 314,843 units, of which sales of commercial vehicles tallied 234,834 units, up 24.8% YoY, while sales of passenger cars surged 33.2% YoY to 80,009 units.
The 2023 CAMPI-TMA vehicle sales projection has been revised to 423,000 units (up 20% from its 2022 actual sales). According to CAMPI president, current trend indicates that the local auto industry will breach the highest pre-pandemic sales performance and achieve full industry recovery in 2023.
In the first 9 months of 2023, Toyota Motor Philippines Corp. continued to lead the market, accounting for a 45.8% market share, followed by Mitsubishi Motors Philippines Corp. (18.4% share) and Ford Motor Co. Phils. Inc with a 7.3% market share.

CAMPI-TMA’s vehicle sales in Philippines up 21.6% YoY in August 2023 with 36,714 units
Reported on September 15, 2023, the recent joint report by the Chamber of Automotive Manufacturers of the Philippines Inc. (CAMPI) and Truck Manufacturers Association (TMA) showed that car sales reached 276,215 units in the first 8 months of 2023, a 29.8% growth from the same period in 2022. The figure is already 70% of the 395,000 sales projection for 2023, said CAMPI president.
In the first 8 months of 2023, sales of commercial vehicles tallied 205,764 units, grew 28.0% YoY, while sales of passenger cars surged 35.3% YoY to 70,451 units.
In August alone, vehicle sales improved by 21.6% YoY to 36,714 units, slightly lower than the 37,086 units sold in July 2023. Sales of commercial vehicles and passenger cars in August reached 26,620 units (up 13.5% YoY) and 10,094 units (up 49.9% YoY), respectively.
According to CAMPI president, amid the challenges brought by high inflation and its effect on the overall consumer confidence particularly for big-ticket items, consumer demand still drives the auto sales further. It is expected that such negative factors will not persist.

CAMPI-TMA’s vehicle sales in Philippines up 33.3% YoY in July 2023 with 37,086 units
Reported on August 16, 2023, the recent joint report by the Chamber of Automotive Manufacturers of the Philippines Inc. (CAMPI) and Truck Manufacturers Association (TMA) showed that car sales in July 2023 reached 37,086 units, increased 33.3% from 27,813 units sold in July 2022. Commercial vehicles contributed 27,577 units sold (up 28.5% YoY), while passenger car sales reached 9,509 units (up 49.8%) in July 2023.
CAMPI-TMA’s sales in January-July 2023 reached 239,501 units, jumped 31.1% YoY (from 182,687 units). This was led by commercial vehicles, with 179,144 units sold, up 30.4% YoY. Passenger car sales also surged by 33.1% YoY to 60,357 units. In the first 7 months of 2023, Toyota remained the market leader with 46.0% market share, followed by Mitsubishi Motors, Ford, Nissan, and Suzuki.
CAMPI president earlier mentioned that positive factors, such as supply that continues to improve and many car models in 2023, would help boost auto sales.

CAMPI-TMA’s vehicle sales in Philippines up 30.7% YoY in H1/2023 with 202,415 units
Reported on July 12, 2023, the recent joint report by the Chamber of Automotive Manufacturers of the Philippines Inc. (CAMPI) and Truck Manufacturers Association (TMA) showed that car sales in June 2023 reached 36,311 units, up 27.0% from 28,601 units sold in June 2022. This was led by commercial vehicles, with 27,325 units sold. Passenger car sales reached 8,986 units in June 2023.
CAMPI-TMA’s sales in January-June 2023 reached 202,415 units, jumped 30.7% YoY (from 154,874 units). This was led by commercial vehicles, with 151,567 units sold, up 30.8%. Passenger car sales also rose by 30.4% to 50,848 units. In the first 6 months of 2023, Toyota remained the market leader with 46.2% market share, followed by Mitsubishi Motors, Ford, Nissan, and Honda.
According to CAMPI president, the double-digit growth in sales in June reflects improved consumer spending for big-ticket items amid the significant market for new motor vehicle sales, the main growth anchor of the industry. The H1 performance sends a strong signal of sustained optimism for the industry for the rest of the year, CAMPI added.

Passenger car sales also rose by 32.7% to 41,862 units. In the first 5 months of 2023, Toyota remained the market leader with 46.5% market share, followed by Mitsubishi Motors, Ford, Nissan, and Honda.
CAMPI president earlier explained that the optimistic outlook for 2023 is pushed by the pent-up demand for new vehicles and improving supply. Moreover, many upcoming new models will really help boost sales.

CAMPI-TMA’s combined vehicle sales in Philippines up 21.8% to 30,643 units in April
Reported on May 16, 2023, the recent joint report by the Chamber of Automotive Manufacturers of the Philippines Inc. (CAMPI) and Truck Manufacturers Association (TMA) showed that car sales in April 2023 improved 21.8% YoY to 30,643 units, of which passenger cars sold 7,317 units (up 16.9% YoY) and commercial vehicle sales reached 23,326 units, up 23.5% YoY.
CAMPI-TMA’s sales in the first 4 months of 2023 reached 127,927 units, grew 28.1% YoY. This was led by commercial vehicles, with 95,857 units sold, up 27.3%. Passenger car sales also jumped by 30.5% to 32,070 units.
The improving economic indicators that remain favorable until the end of the year is a critical metric for the continued growth of the auto industry, said CAMPI president, who also pointed that this is perfectly timed with the market availability of a wider range of motor vehicle models being offered by CAMPI-TMA members, meeting with the rising needs of customers. The auto industry has already recorded this growth trajectory in the past 4 months compared with the 2019 levels.
In the first 4 months of 2023, Toyota remained the market leader with over 46% market share, followed by Mitsubishi Motors and Nissan.

CAMPI-TMA’s combined vehicle sales in Philippines up 30.1% to 97,284 units in Q1/2023
Reported on April 12, 2023, according to a joint report by the Chamber of Automotive Manufacturers of the Philippines Inc. (CAMPI) and Truck Manufacturers Association (TMA), car sales in March 2023 reached 36,880 units, supported greatly by the domestic economy’s full reopening. This March sales figure is also the second highest monthly performance in a post-pandemic time, after the more than 37,000-unit sales level recorded in December 2022, said CAMPI President.
CAMPI-TMA’s sales in Q1/2023 reached 97,284 units, up 30.1% YoY. CAMPI president added that favorable economic conditions are also an important driving factor for sustained growth.
In the month of March 2023 alone, sales of passenger cars contributed 27.3% to reach 10,058 units. Commercial vehicle sales accounted for 72.7% with 26,822 units.

CAMPI-TMA’s combined vehicle sales in Philippines up 27.2% to 30,905 units in February 2023
Reported on March 14, 2023, the Chamber of Automotive Manufacturers of the Philippines Inc. (CAMPI) and the Truck Manufacturers Association (TMA)’s latest joint report noted a 34.0% growth in new motor vehicle sales in the first 2 months of 2023 that reach 60,404 units.
Commercial vehicle sales led the growth, increasing 37% YoY to 45,709 units. Meanwhile, passenger car sales grew by 25.6% to 14,695 units.
Sales in the month of February alone reached 30,905 units, up 27.2%.
This was led by commercial vehicles, with 23,716 units sold, up 29%. Passenger car sales also increased by 21.6 % to 7,189 units.
The growth reflects a continuously progressing auto industry from the course of the pandemic, according to CAMPI president.
CAMPI-TMA sales in 2023 are projected to improve by 10-15% YoY to reach around 395,000 units, thanks to various favorable economic indicators thar are prevailing, leading to improving overall outlook for the economy alongside increasing consumer demand for new motor vehicles.

Reported on February 14, 2023, according to the latest data from Chamber of Automotive Manufacturers of the Philippines Inc. (CAMPI) and the Truck Manufacturers Association (TMA), new motor vehicle sales in the Philippines surged 42.1% YoY to reach 29,499 units, recorded in the first month of 2023. The top 3 brands were Toyota, Mitsubishi Motors, and Ford, holding a market share of 45.52%, 17.05%, and 7.14%, respectively.
In the month of January 2023, sales of commercial vehicles sales noted a 46.8% increase YoY with 21,993 units. Passenger vehicle car sales, meanwhile, jumped 29.8% to 7,506 units.
The auto industry is optimistic of its continued expansion from the demand-side standpoint driven by the growing domestic consumer market, said CAMPI president. However, the supply-side challenges may hamper the industry growth. CAMPI projected a 10-15% sales growth in 2023.
