This marks a 5% improvement on the pandemic-struck 2020 result, though is still 10% down on 2019, with 2021 punctuated by restrictions earlier in the year followed by supply-chain bottlenecks impacting sales over the second half.
- The latest result monthly result, December 2021, showed further slow improvement in the selling rate from the September low, at 81 mn units/year, though still reflected the ongoing impact of the global supply crisis that will remain a drag during 2022.
