History

Oct. 1948	Started business as a manufacturer producing and selling synthetic resin parts.
Oct. 1948	Started selling synthetic resin parts to Nissan's Yoshiwara Works.
May, 1950	Received the first order for steering wheels from Nissan and started delivering the products in September.
Aug. 1958	Opened the Tokyo Branch in Minato-ku, Tokyo. The functions of the branch have since been taken over by two branches, Atsugi and Tochigi branches.
July, 1960	Constructed a new headquarters with production facilities in Yoshiwara, Shizuoka.
May, 1965	Capitalization increased to 45 million yen with Nissan holding 20% of shares.
Oct. 1965	Concluded a technical licensing agreement with Petri in West Germany and started producing rubber-made steering wheels.
June, 1968	Start doing business with Honda.
Sep. 1998	Entered into a business alliance with Kansei, currently Calsonic-Kansei Corp.
May, 1999	Established NP Service Co., Ltd. in Fuji, Shizuoka
Apr. 2000	Aquired Prostec Co. Ltd. (of the Prostec Group), Fuji Technical Center, and Daiei.
Apr. 2000	Established Neaton Rome Incorporated (hereinafter referred to as Neaton Rome) in Georgia, U.S.A., with Neaton Auto Products holding 100% of the shares.
July, 2000	Finalized a commercial agreement with MollerGroup GmbH & Co.KG of Germany to conduct business in the automotive interior and exterior parts area. Formed a capital alliance agreement with its subsidiary, MollerTech International GmbH.
July, 2000	Finalized a commercial agreement with Dalphi Metal Espana SA. of Spain to deal in products involving automotive safety. Formed a capital alliance agreement with the company in November, 2000.
Oct. 2000	Announced a capital tie-up agreement with Madrid-based Dalphi Metal, a Spanish automotive component supplier. On November 2, 2000, Dalphi Metal acquired some Nihon Plast stakes from Nissan for more than 1biliion yen, to become the largest shareholder of Nihon Plast, owning 14% of all issued stock. At the same time, Nihon Plast acquired a 10% stake of Dalphi's shares under an allocation of stock offered to third-parties. Since then, the two companies have been jointly cooperating on the development and production of steering wheels and air-bag units.
Nov. 2000	NP Kouki and Prostec Group merged under the name of Prostec Co. Ltd.
Nov. 2000	Consolidated four subsidiaries producing resin parts and dies. These companies were PROSTEC Group, two other wholly-owned subsidiaries and NP Koki Co., Ltd (a 57.4% owned subsidiary).
Feb. 2003	Established Zhongshan Plast Industry Co., Ltd. jointly with Itochu corporation in Zhongshan City, Guangdong province in China.
Mar. 2004	Issued and allocated one million new shares to a third party, and thereby increased its capital by two billion yen.
Nov. 2004	Established Nihon Plast (Thailand) Co., Ltd in Rayong, Thailand.
Dec. 2004	Delisted from the over-the-counter market of the Japan Securities Dealers Association and listed on the Jasdaq Security Exchange.
Jul. 2005	Honda Motor Co., Ltd. made a 20.6% investment in the Company, thereby the Company became a Honda' affiliate.
Jan. 2006	Established a second technical center at Fujinomiya, Shizuoka Prefecture, Japan..
Apr. 2007	Established Nihon Magnesio S.A.de C.V. in Queretaro, Mexico, together with Nihon Plast Mexicana S.A.de C.V. and Neaton Auto Products.
Nov. 2007	Established Technical Center 3 in Kawanarijima, Fuji, Shizuoka Prefecture.
Mar. 2008	Company's stock listed on the Second Section of the Tokyo Stock Exchange
Aug. 2008	Established Wuhan Plast Auto Parts Co., Ltd. in Wuhan, Hubei Province, China
Jan. 2010	Moved its headquarters to the premises of the Company's technical center in Fujinomiya City, Shizuoka Prefecture.
Nov. 2010	Nihon Plast Mexicana S.A.de C.V. and Neaton Auto Products Mfg., Inc. jointly established Neaton Auto Mexicana, S.A de C.V. in Queretaro, Mexico.
2013	Ended capital relationship with Honda.
Nov. 2013	Opened China Technical Center in Zhongshan, Guangdong, China.
Dec. 2017	Listed on the first section of the Tokyo Stock Exchange.
Mar. 2018	Nihon Plast Mexicana S.A.de C.V. and Nihon Magnesio S.A. de C.V. jointly established Nihon Plast Mexicana de Temascalcingo, S.A. de C.V.
Mar. 2019	Established Nihon Plast Vietnam Co., Ltd. in Vĩnh Phúc, Vietnam.
