Awards

-The Company was awarded "2009 Preferred Supplier Award" by Canadian fuel cell manufacturer Ballard Power Systems Inc. Ballad recognized Ogura's hydrogen circulation pump for fuel cell units, which were used on shuttle buses for 2010 Vancouver Winter Olympics. (From a press release on September 3, 2010)

Transportation Equipment Business
-Total R&D expenses in the Transportation Equipment Business were 171 million yen.
-The R&D 2nd Section of the Transportation Equipment Business conducted R&D activities on automotive climate-control clutches. The Company predicts that there will be market demand for its products in connection with forecast changes being made to automobiles in the future, so is working to develop lighter, quieter, energy-efficient, and low-power clutches; torque limiters for external-control compressors; and other products.
-The Company is carrying out R&D activities on super-charge clutches, automotive power-slide door clutches, power rear-door clutches, power luggage-door clutches, locking differential (diff-lock) clutches and brakes, water-pump clutches, and other products.

Transportation Equipment Business
-The Company made capital improvements to its Akabori and Korin Plants to enhance and rationalize the production facilities and equipment and make them environmentally compliant, in addition to investing in dies needed for its various products.
