Indonesian sales up 17.7% in December, up 4.7% in 2016
Indonesian automobile manufacturers association (Gaikindo) and other sources reported that Indonesian vehicle sales in December were 86,234 units up 17.7% year over year. It was the 9th consecutive month of increases.
The 2016 full year sales were up 4.7% to 1,061,015 units.
By automaker sales in 2016, Toyota was up 18.6% y/y to 382,651 units and Honda was up 25.2% to 199,364 units. Daihatsu was up 13.0% to 189,683 units. Mitsubishi was down 13.1% to 97,761 units. Suzuki was down 23.7% to 92,950 units.
Toyota, Daihatsu, Honda sales were very strong with recently launched new models.
Gaikindo forecasts that 2017 sales will reach 1.1 million units. It sees that infrastructure projects and rising prices of commodities will help to increase automobile demand.

Indonesian sales up 15.2% in November
Indonesian automobile manufacturers association (Gaikindo) and other sources reported that Indonesian vehicle sales in November were 100,125 units up 15.2% year over year. It was the 8th consecutive month of increases this year.
January - November sales were up 3.7% to 974,972 units.
By automaker sales in November, Toyota was up 36.8% y/y to 40,515 units and Daihatsu was up 42.2% to 20,107 units. Honda was up 10.6% to 16,501 units. Suzuki was down 7.8% to 8,568 units. Mitsubishi was down 9.6% to 7,887 units.
Toyota, Daihatsu sales were very strong with recently launched new models (Toyota Cayla and Daihatsu Sigra).

Indonesian sales up 3.9% in October
Indonesian automobile manufacturers association (Gaikindo) and other sources reported that Indonesian vehicle sales in October were 91,846 units up 3.9% year over year. It was the 7th consecutive month of increases this year.
January - October sales were up 2.5% to 874,703 units.
By automaker sales in October, Toyota was up 14.4% y/y to 34,120 units and Daihatsu was up 37.0% to 19,177 units. Honda was up 17.0% to 17,088 units. Mitsubishi was down 17.3% to 8,138 units. Suzuki was down 23.4% to 7,200 units.
Toyota, Daihatsu, Honda sales were very strong with recently launched new models.

Indonesian automobile manufacturers association (Gaikindo) and other sources reported that Indonesian vehicle sales in September were 93,136 units up 0.1% year over year. It was the sixth consecutive month of increases this year.
January - September sales were up 2.5% to 783,450 units.
By automaker sales in September, Toyota was up 14.2% y/y to 36,995 units and Daihatsu was up 24.6% to 16,557 units. Honda was up 10.0% to 15,791 units. Mitsubishi was down 15.0% to 8,975 units. Suzuki was down 34.2% to 6,595 units.
Toyota, Daihatsu, Honda sales were very strong with recently launched new models.

Indonesian sales up 6.4% in August
Indonesian automobile manufacturers association (Gaikindo) and other sources reported that Indonesian vehicle sales in August were 96,294 units up 6.4% year over year. It was the fifth consecutive month of increases this year.
January - August sales were up 2.9% to 691,042 units.
By automaker sales in August, Toyota was up 21.3% y/y to 38,815 units and Honda was up 29.2% to 17,088 units. Daihatsu was up 6.3% to 16,800 units. Mitsubishi was down 12.3% to 8,255 units. Suzuki was down 34.9% to 6,453 units.
Toyota said that the 2016 annual sales will exceed the 2015 sales of 1,013,291 units by close to 5% since the market has been recovering thanks to stable economy and new product launches.

Indonesian sales up 12.5% in July
Indonesian automobile manufacturers association (Gaikindo) and other sources reported that Indonesian vehicle sales in July were 62,585 units up 12.5% year over year. It was the fourth consecutive month of increases this year.
January - July sales were up 2.3% to 594,514 units.
By automaker sales in July, Toyota (excluding Lexus) was up 88.4% y/y to 25,430 units and Daihatsu was up 22.2% to 10,689 units. Honda was up 5.0% to 9,308 units. Mitsubishi was down 19.9% to 5,678 units. Suzuki was down 48.6% to 5,040 units.
Gaikindo announced that the 2016 annual sales will exceed the 2015 sales of 1,013,291 units since the market has been recovering.

Indonesian automobile manufacturers association (Gaikindo) and other sources reported that Indonesian vehicle sales in May were 88,520 units up 11.5% year over year. It was the second consecutive month of increases this year.
January - May sales were down 0.6% to 440,466 units.
By automaker sales in May, Toyota (excluding Lexus) was up 36.3% y/y to 31,664 units and Honda was up 54.2% to 17,427 units. Daihatsu was up 10.0% to 15,928 units. Mitsubishi was down 13.1% to 7,935 units. Suzuki was down 38.4% to 6,172 units. Toyota and Honda showed strong growth thanks to new models in May.

Indonesian sales up 3.8% in April
Indonesian automobile manufacturers association (Gaikindo) and other sources reported that Indonesian vehicle sales in April were 84,703 units up 3.8% year over year. January - April sales were down 3.3% to 351,947 units. The new vehicle market in Indonesia expanded for the first time since August 2014.
By automaker sales in April, Toyota (excluding Lexus) was up 3.4% y/y to 31,060 units and Daihatsu was down 3.0% to 14,402 units. Honda was up 35.9% to 14,384 units. Suzuki sold the same 8,019 units. Mitsubishi was down 18.1% to 7,917 units. Honda continued to enjoy strong growth thanks to new models such as the BR-V and the popularity of its Mobilio MPV and HR-V small SUV.
Gaikindo is forecasting 2016 annual sales to be up 5% y/y to 1.05 million units due to stronger second half sales.

Indonesian sales drop 5.5% in March
Indonesian automobile manufacturers association (Gaikindo) and other sources reported that Indonesian vehicle sales in March were 93,990 units down 5.5% year over year. January - March sales were down 5.4% to 267,227 units.
By automaker sales in March, Toyota (excluding Lexus) was down 5.7% y/y to 29,996 units and Honda was up 46.8% to 20,475 units. Daihatsu was down 10.8% to 14,504 units. Mitsubishi was down 8.4% to 9,355 units, and Suzuki was down 26.5% to 9,099 units.
Gaikindo sees the improvement of purchasing power compared to last year, and it is forecasting 2016 annual sales to be up 5% y/y due to stronger second half sales.

Indonesian sales drop 0.6% in February
Indonesian automobile manufacturers association (Gaikindo) and other sources reported that Indonesian vehicle sales in February were 88,238 units down 0.6% year over year. January - February sales were down 5.3% to 173,252 units.
By automaker sales in February, Toyota (excluding Lexus) was down 4.8% y/y to 25,447 units and Honda was up 35.2% to 18,500 units. Daihatsu was up 1.7% to 14,764 units. Mitsubishi was down 4.8% to 10,678 units, and Suzuki was down 7.4% to 9,275 units.
February was the 18th consecutive month of contracting sales on an annual basis, but last month's percentage fall was the slowest since August 2014.

Indonesian sales drop 9.9% in January
Indonesian automobile manufactures association (Gaikindo) and other sources reported that Indonesian vehicle sales in January were 84,885 units down 9.9% year over year.
By automaker sales, Toyota (excluding Lexus) was down 8.5% y/y to 24,860 units and Honda was up 15.1% to 19,404 units. Daihatsu, Suzuki, and Mitsubishi sales decreased by 9.3%, 17.3%, and 32.5% respectively.
Gaikindo predicts total car sales will grow 5 percent to approximately 1.1 million units in 2016 if the economy grows above 5 percent as estimated by the government.
