Brazilian vehicle sales up 10.3% in December, up 14.6% in 2018 (ANFAVEA)
The Associacao Nacional dos Fabricantes de Veiculos Automotores (ANFAVEA) announced that Brazilian new vehicle sales (including trucks and buses) in December increased 10.3% year-over-year (y/y) to 234,531 units.
2018 full year Brazilian vehicle sales increased 14.6% to 2,566,433 units.
Among by maker sales of passenger vehicles in 2018, General Motors saw an increase of 11.7% to 389,531 units. VW sales increased 38.8% to 302,205 units. FCA’s sales increased 11.4% to 290,712 units. For light commercial vehicles, FCA’s sales increased 19.7% to 142,402 units, VW's sales increased 18.9% to 64,708 units, and GM’s sales decreased 0.9% to 44,899 units.
The Federacao Nacional da Distribuicao de Veiculos Automotores announced passenger vehicle sales rankings by model for the year. The GM Onix took the top spot with sales of 210,458 units. The Hyundai HB20 was number 2 with 105,506 units, followed by the Ford KA with 103,286 units. For LCVs, the Fiat Strada took the top spot with sales of 67,227 units, followed by the Fiat Toro with 58,477 units, and the VW Saveiro was number 3 with 45,920 units.
In ANFAVEA’s sales report by fuel type for the year, sales of flexible-fuel vehicles increased 12.5% y/y to 2,168,183 units (market share of 87.6%), diesel vehicles rose 25.3% to 221,279 units (market share of 8.9%), gasoline vehicles increased 18.9% to 81,933 units (market share of 3.3%), and hybrid and electric vehicles increased 20.4% to 3,970 units.

Brazilian vehicle sales up 13.1% to 230,945 units in November (ANFAVEA)
The Associacao Nacional dos Fabricantes de Veiculos Automotores (ANFAVEA) announced that Brazilian new vehicle sales (including trucks and buses) in November increased 13.1% year-over-year (y/y) to 230,945 units.
Vehicle sales in November consisted of 191,849 passenger cars; 29,960 light commercial vehicles; 7,679 trucks; and 1,457 buses.
Among passenger vehicle manufacturers, General Motors sold 41,352 units (21.6% share), VW sold 28,013 units (14.6% share), FCA sold 25,296 units (13.2%), Renault sold 18,456 units (9.6%), Ford sold 17,088 units (8.9% share), and Hyundai sold 16,090 units (8.4%).
Among light commercial vehicle manufacturers, FCA sold 10,459 vehicles (34.9% share), VW sold 5,057 vehicles (16.9% share), GM sold 3,921 vehicles (13.1% share), Toyota sold 3,385 vehicles (11.3% share), Renault sold 1,836 vehicles (6.1%), and Ford sold 1,579 vehicles (5.3% share).
The Federacao Nacional da Distribuicao de Veiculos Automotores announced passenger vehicle sales rankings by model for the month. The GM Onix was the best-selling passenger vehicle in November with 22,277 sales followed by the VW Gol with 8,836 sales, Ford Ka with 8,834 sales, Hyundai HB20 with 8,395 sales, and GM Prisma with 7,598 sales.
The Fiat Strada was the best-selling LCV in November with 5,158 sales, followed by the Fiat Toro with 3,922 sales, and VW Saveiro with 3,516 sales.
In ANFAVEA's sales report by fuel type, sales of flexible-fuel vehicles was up 12.2% y/y to 196,776 units (market share of 88.7%), diesel vehicles were up 11.9% from a year ago with 17,921 units (market share of 8.1%), gasoline vehicles increased 13.0% to 6,738 units (market share of 3.0%), and hybrid and electric vehicles increased 55.8% to 374 units.

Brazilian vehicle sales up 25.6% to 254,732 units in October (ANFAVEA)
The Associacao Nacional dos Fabricantes de Veiculos Automotores (ANFAVEA) announced that Brazilian new vehicle sales (including trucks and buses) in October increased 25.6% year-over-year (y/y) to 254,732 units.
Vehicle sales in October consisted of 208,565 passenger cars; 36,597 light commercial vehicles; 7,894 trucks; and 1,676 buses.
Among by maker sales of passenger vehicles, General Motors saw an increase of 24.2% to 40,033 units. VW's sales increased 76.4% to 31,534 units. Fiat Chrysler's sales increased 28.1% to 29,344 units. For light commercial vehicles, FCA's sales increased 38.1% to 14,939 units. VW's sales decreased 1.7% to 5,695 units. GM's sales decreased 5.1% to 4,055 units.
The Federacao Nacional da Distribuicao de Veiculos Automotores announced passenger vehicle sales rankings by model for the month.The GM Onix took the top spot with sales of 22,324 units. The Ford KA was number 2 with 10,461 units, followed by the Hyundai HB20 with 9,361 units. For LCVs, the Fiat Strada took the top spot with sales of 7,199 units, followed by the Fiat Toro with 5,659 units, and the VW Saveiro was number 3 with 4,083 units.
In ANFAVEA's sales report by fuel type, sales of flexible-fuel vehicles was up 24.3% y/y to 216,671 units (market share of 88.4%), diesel vehicles were up 25.5% from a year ago with 20,730 units (market share of 8.5%), gasoline vehicles increased 26.6% to 7,356 units (market share of 3.0%), and hybrid and electric vehicles increased 66.7% to 405 units.

Brazilian vehicle sales up 7.1% to 213,339 units in September (ANFAVEA)
The Associacao Nacional dos Fabricantes de Veiculos Automotores (ANFAVEA) announced that Brazilian new vehicle sales (including trucks and buses) in September increased 7.1% year-over-year (y/y) to 213,339 units.
Vehicle sales in September consisted of 172,892 passenger cars; 32,242 light commercial vehicles; 6,707 trucks; and 1,498 buses.
Among by maker sales of passenger vehicles, General Motors saw an increase of 5.4% to 32,648 units. Fiat Chrysler's sales increased 11.2% to 25,255 units. VW's sales increased 29.9% to 24,633 units. For light commercial vehicles, FCA's sales increased 11.7% to 10,889 units. VW's sales increased 59.5% to 6,842 units. GM's sales decreased 12.2% to 3,744 units.

The Ford KA was number 2 with 8,680 units, followed by the Hyundai HB20 with 8,626 units. For LCVs, the Fiat Strada took the top spot with sales of 4,696 units, followed by the Fiat Toro with 4,575 units, and the VW Saveiro was number 3 with 4,334 units.
In ANFAVEA's sales report by fuel type, sales of flexible-fuel vehicles was up 3.6% y/y to 179,813 units (market share of 87.7%), diesel vehicles were up 39.3% from a year ago with 19,128 units (market share of 9.3%), gasoline vehicles decreased 2.6% to 5,907 units (market share of 2.9%), and hybrid and electric vehicles decreased 25.5% to 286 units.

Brazilian vehicle sales up 14.8% to 248,623 units in August
The Associacao Nacional dos Fabricantes de Veiculos Automotores (ANFAVEA) announced that Brazilian new vehicle sales (including trucks and buses) in August increased 14.8% year-over-year (y/y) to 248,623 units.
Vehicle sales in August consisted of 203,748 passenger cars; 35,851 light commercial vehicles; 7,456 trucks; and 1,568 buses.
Among by maker sales of passenger vehicles, General Motors saw an increase of 9.4% to 37,544 units. Fiat Chrysler's sales increased 12.9% to 30,651 units. VW's sales increased 33.7% to 28,034 units. For light commercial vehicles, FCA's sales increased 28.1% to 14,096 units. VW's sales increased 13.1% to 5,958 units. GM's sales increased 1.6% to 4,048 units.
The Federacao Nacional da Distribuicao de Veiculos Automotores announced passenger vehicle sales rankings by model for the month. The GM Onix took the top spot with sales of 21,763 units. The Hyundai HB20 was number 2 with 10,589 units, followed by the Ford KA with 10,118 units. For LCVs, the Fiat Toro took the top spot with sales of 6,172 units, followed by the Fiat Strada with 6,119 units, and the VW Saveiro was number 3 with 4,237 units.
In ANFAVEA's sales report by fuel type, sales of flexible-fuel vehicles was up 13.3% y/y to 211,318 units (market share of 88.2%), diesel vehicles were up 25.1% from a year ago with 20,379 units (market share of 8.5%), gasoline vehicles increased 13.3% to 7,640 units (market share of 3.2%), and hybrid and electric vehicles decreased 58.2% to 262 units.

Brazilian vehicle sales up 17.7% to 217,509 units in July
The Associacao Nacional dos Fabricantes de Veiculos Automotores (ANFAVEA) announced that Brazilian new vehicle sales (including trucks and buses) in July increased 17.7% year-over-year (y/y) to 217,509 units.
Vehicle sales in July consisted of 175,856 passenger cars; 33,218 light commercial vehicles; 6,591 trucks; and 1,844 buses.
Among by maker sales of passenger vehicles, General Motors saw an increase of 5.6% to 31,043 units. VW's sales increased 47.7% to 26,163 units. Fiat Chrysler's sales increased 10.2% to 24,620 units. For light commercial vehicles, FCA's sales increased 33.5% to 13,086 units. VW's sales increased 4.4% to 5,265 units. GM's sales decreased 1.0% to 4,052 units.

The Ford KA was number 2 with 9,558 units, followed by the Hyundai HB20 with 9,124 units. For LCVs, the Fiat Toro took the top spot with sales of 6,226 units, followed by the Fiat Strada with 5,765 units, and the VW Saveiro was number 3 with 3,635 units.
In ANFAVEA's sales report by fuel type, sales of flexible-fuel vehicles was up 15.5% y/y to 181,446 units (market share of 86.8%), diesel vehicles were up 26.6% from a year ago with 20,321 units (market share of 9.7%), gasoline vehicles increased 25.6% to 7,045 units (market share of 3.4%), and hybrid and electric vehicles decreased 2.2% to 262 units.

Brazilian vehicle sales up 3.6% to 201,982 units in June
The Associacao Nacional dos Fabricantes de Veiculos Automotores (ANFAVEA) announced that Brazilian new vehicle sales (including trucks and buses) in June increased 3.6% year-over-year (y/y) to 201,982 units.
Vehicle sales in June consisted of 163,413 passenger cars; 31,957 light commercial vehicles; 5,703 trucks; and 909 buses.
Among by maker sales of passenger vehicles, General Motors saw a decrease of 3.1% to 28,244 units. Fiat Chrysler's sales decreased 1.4% to 23,858 units. VW's sales increased 31.5% to 23,697 units. For light commercial vehicles, FCA's sales increased 15.1% to 12,359 units. VW's sales increased 6.8% to 5,225 units. GM's sales decreased 6.2% to 4,181 units.
The Federacao Nacional da Distribuicao de Veiculos Automotores announced passenger vehicle sales rankings by model for the month. The GM Onix took the top spot with sales of 16,218 units. The Hyundai HB20 was number 2 with 8,292 units, followed by the Ford KA with 7,833 units. For LCVs, the Fiat Toro took the top spot with sales of 5,500 units, followed by the Fiat Strada with 5,474 units, and the VW Saveiro was number 3 with 3,745 units.
In ANFAVEA's sales report by fuel type, sales of flexible-fuel vehicles was up 0.2% y/y to 168,803 units (market share of 86.4%), diesel vehicles were up 24.3% from a year ago with 18,714 units (market share of 9.6%), gasoline vehicles increased 28.8% to 7,471 units (market share of 3.8%), and hybrid and electric vehicles increased 60.5% to 382 units.

Brazilian vehicle sales up 3.2% to 201,897 units in May
The Associacao Nacional dos Fabricantes de Veiculos Automotores (ANFAVEA) announced that Brazilian new vehicle sales (including trucks and buses) in May increased 3.2% year-over-year (y/y) to 201,897 units.
Vehicle sales in May consisted of 164,306 passenger cars; 30,985 light commercial vehicles; 5,626 trucks; and 980 buses.
Among by maker sales of passenger vehicles, General Motors saw a decrease of 6.5% to 28,307 units. Fiat Chrysler's sales increased 7.9% to 24,901 units. VW's sales increased 23.1% to 23,944 units. For light commercial vehicles, FCA's sales increased 14.7% to 11,832 units. VW's sales increased 14.7% to 5,675 units. GM's sales increased 17.9% to 3,984 units.
The Federacao Nacional da Distribuicao de Veiculos Automotores announced passenger vehicle sales rankings by model for the month. The GM Onix took the top spot with sales of 15,015 units. The Hyundai HB20 was number 2 with 8,513 units, followed by the Ford KA with 7,639 units. For LCVs, the Fiat Strada took the top spot with sales of 5,581 units, followed by the Fiat Toro with 4,983 units, and the VW Saveiro was number 3 with 4,179 units.
In ANFAVEA's sales report by fuel type, sales of flexible-fuel vehicles was flat y/y to 169,788 units (market share of 86.9%), diesel vehicles were up 23.4% from a year ago with 17,825 units (market share of 9.1%), gasoline vehicles increased 23.9% to 7,376 units (market share of 3.8%), and hybrid and electric vehicles increased 45.2% to 302 units.

Brazilian vehicle sales up 38.5% to 217,340 units in April
The Associacao Nacional dos Fabricantes de Veiculos Automotores (ANFAVEA) announced that Brazilian new vehicle sales (including trucks and buses) in April increased 38.5% year-over-year (y/y) to 217,340 units.
Vehicle sales in April consisted of 178,705 passenger cars; 31,545 light commercial vehicles; 6,164 trucks; and 926 buses.
Among by maker sales of passenger vehicles, General Motors saw an increase of 29.8% to 31,012 units. Fiat Chrysler's sales increased 37.2% to 24,395 units. VW's sales increased 59.6% to 24,298 units. For light commercial vehicles, FCA's sales increased 70.8% to 12,932 units. VW's sales increased 68.7% to 6,031 units. Toyota's sales increased 27.2% to 3,202 units.
The Federacao Nacional da Distribuicao de Veiculos Automotores announced passenger vehicle sales rankings by model for the month. The GM Onix took the top spot with sales of 16,617 units. The Hyundai HB20 was number 2 with 9,606 units, followed by the Ford KA with 8,764 units. For LCVs, the Fiat Strada took the top spot with sales of 6,357 units, followed by the Fiat Toro with 5,141 units, and the VW Saveiro was number 3 with 4,490 units.
In ANFAVEA's sales report by fuel type, sales of flexible-fuel vehicles increased 37.2% y/y to 184,677 units (market share of 87.8%), diesel vehicles were up 41.0% from a year ago with 18,067 units (market share of 8.6%), gasoline vehicles increased 40.4% to 7,139 units (market share of 3.4%), and hybrid and electric vehicles jumped 108.5% to 367 units.

Brazilian vehicle sales up 9.6% in March, production up 13.5%
The Associacao Nacional dos Fabricantes de Veiculos Automotores (ANFAVEA) announced that Brazilian new vehicle sales (including trucks and buses) in March increased 9.6% year-over-year (y/y) to 207,365 units.
Among by maker sales of passenger vehicles, General Motors saw an increase of 0.1% to 27,509 units. VW's sales increased 25.6% to 24,136 units. Fiat Chrysler's sales increased 4.7% to 22,300 units. For light commercial vehicles, FCA's sales decreased 1.3% to 9,949 units. VW's sales increased 11.8% to 4,735 units. Toyota's sales increased 14.0% to 3,228 units.

In ANFAVEA's sales report by fuel type, sales of flexible-fuel vehicles increased 7.4% y/y to 176,364 units (market share of 88.0%), diesel vehicles were up 20.4% from a year ago with 16,717 units (market share of 8.3%), gasoline vehicles increased 18.3% to 6,946 units (market share of 3.5%), and hybrid and electric vehicles jumped 61.7% to 367 units.
As for March production figures (excluding CKD production), units produced increased 13.5% to 267,460 units. Exports in March decreased 2.6% to 67,488 units.

Brazilian vehicle sales up 15.7% in February, production up 6.2%
The Associacao Nacional dos Fabricantes de Veiculos Automotores (ANFAVEA) announced that Brazilian new vehicle sales (including trucks and buses) in February increased 15.7% year-over-year (y/y) to 156,905 units.
Among by maker sales of passenger vehicles, General Motors saw an increase of 18.5% to 24,403 units. VW's sales increased 31.7% to 18,030 units. Fiat Chrysler's sales decreased 7.8% to 15,573 units. For light commercial vehicles, FCA's sales decreased 1.0% to 7,765 units. VW's sales increased 19.0% to 4,231 units. GM's sales increased 13.8% to 2,991 units.
The Federacao Nacional da Distribuicao de Veiculos Automotores announced passenger vehicle sales rankings by model for the month. The GM Onix took the top spot with sales of 12,797 units. The Hyundai HB20 was number 2 with 7,364 units, followed by the Ford KA with 6,570 units. For LCVs, the Fiat Strada took the top spot with sales of 4,137 units, followed by the Fiat Toro with 3,052 units, and the VW Saveiro was number 3 with 2,957 units.
In ANFAVEA's sales report by fuel type, sales of flexible-fuel vehicles increased 13.2% y/y to 133,063 units (market share of 87.5%), diesel vehicles were up 25.4% from a year ago with 13,331 units (market share of 8.8%), gasoline vehicles increased 23.3% to 5,346 units (market share of 3.5%), and hybrid and electric vehicles jumped 61.8% to 254 units.
As for February production figures (excluding CKD production), units produced increased 6.2% to 213,480 units. Exports in February decreased 1.2% to 66,314 units.

Brazilian vehicle sales up 23.1% in January, production up 24.6%
The Associacao Nacional dos Fabricantes de Veiculos Automotores (ANFAVEA) announced that Brazilian new vehicle sales (including trucks and buses) in January increased 23.1% year-over-year (y/y) to 181,266 units.
Among by maker sales of passenger vehicles, General Motors saw an increase of 24.3% to 30,246 units. VW's sales increased 51.1% to 22,077 units. Fiat Chrysler's sales increased 16.9% to 20,455 units. For light commercial vehicles, FCA's sales increased 20.5% to 10,050 units. VW's sales increased 21.1% to 4,266 units. GM's sales increased 10.3% to 3,658 units.

The Federacao Nacional da Distribuicao de Veiculos Automotores announced passenger vehicle sales rankings by model for the month. The GM Onix took the top spot with sales of 16,058 units. The Ford KA was number 2 with 7,656 units, followed by the Hyundai HB20 with 7,436 units. For LCVs, the Fiat Strada took the top spot with sales of 5,372 units, followed by the Fiat Toro with 3,893 units, and the VW Saveiro was number 3 with 3,155 units.
In ANFAVEA's sales report by fuel type, sales of flexible-fuel vehicles increased 21.4% y/y to 154,302 units (market share of 87.7%), diesel vehicles were up 30.0% from a year ago with 15,345 units (market share of 8.7%), gasoline vehicles increased 26.9% to 5,938 units (market share of 3.4%), and hybrid and electric vehicles jumped 52.8% to 272 units.

As for January production figures (excluding CKD production), units produced increased 24.6% to 216,834 units. Exports in January increased 23.6% to 47,029 units.
