  Auto Shanghai 2023 (Shanghai International Automobile Industry Exhibition), was the first international-class motor show in China since 2021, and opened at the Shanghai National Exhibition and Convention Center. Chinese domestic and international media were invited for press days on April 18-19, followed by industry days on April 20-21 and public days on April 22-27. According to an official announcement, the total exhibition space was 360,000 square meters, with 1,413 vehicles on display in the finished vehicle display areas. There were world premieres of 93 vehicles, 64 concept cars, and 513 vehicles of 271 New Energy Vehicle models. This report focuses on the electric vehicle models of non-Chinese manufacturers that were on display at Auto Shanghai 2023.

  In addition to the world premiere of two concept models of the bZ series and the Lexus LM, Toyota emphasized its commitment to cooperate with progressive local companies to introduce products that meet the needs of Chinese users. Honda held the world premiere of two Prototype models, the second set of the e:N series scheduled for launch in early 2024, and the third in the series, the e:N SUV Xu. Nissan has unveiled the Arizon, an electric vehicle developed to meet the diverse lifestyles and needs of China.

  Volkswagen held the world premiere of the ID.7 Vizzion. It has a fastback design and is scheduled for release in the second half of 2023. In addition, a new concept model from the ID. family, ID. NEXT, was also unveiled. VW will launch more than 30 electric vehicle models in the Chinese market by 2030. From the Audi brand, the Audi urbansphere EV concept model, developed with input from Chinese users, made its debut in China. Mercedes-Benz, which will introduce six xEV models to the Chinese market by the end of 2023, unveiled a luxury SUV model. The smart brand had the world premiere of the "smart #3," the brand's first electric coupe SUV, which will go on sale starting in China. BMW unveiled a high-performance BEV full-size sedan, a PHV full-size SUV, and a China-exclusive model.
