The China Passenger Car Association (CPCA) announced the production and sales volumes of passenger cars (including sedans, SUVs, and MPVs, excluding minivans) for August 2026.
Retail
August retail sales volumes of passenger cars totaled 1.541 million units, down 23.6% year-over-year (y/y).
New Energy Vehicles (NEVs)
In August, new energy passenger car retail sales volume was 1.005 million units, down 10.1% y/y.
