Summary

The 2026 Intelligent Vehicle Safety and Security Technology Innovation Forum, held in Shanghai in July 2026, focused on three central themes: Implementation of High-Level Autonomous Driving: Safety and Responsibility, Global Automated Driving Regulatory Trends, and AI-Driven Omnidirectional (All-Domain) Security. It addressed key issues in the commercialization process of autonomous driving, including technology, safety, regulations, and division of responsibility.

This report will cover two keynote presentations on the theme of Implementation of High-Level Autonomous Driving: Safety and Responsibility. Professor Xichan ZHU from the Tongji University College of Automotive and Energy Engineering gave a presentation titled “L2/L3/L4 Mandatory Standards Regulate the Healthy Development of the Intelligent Driving Industry”. Next, Mr. Kang WANG, Director of the Autonomous Driving Center at IM Motors (Zhiji Automotive Technology Co., Ltd.), spoke on the "Practical Implementation of High-Level Autonomous Driving: Safety and Responsibility." The speakers discussed topics such as the safety of autonomous driving, driver monitoring, the development of Chinese national standards, and the practical aspects of product development by automakers (OEMs), verification systems, and safety assurance mechanisms.
