CES 2026: In-vehicle Entertainment Solutions
BMW, Mercedes show infotainment functions; suppliers show display and sound systems

CES 2026 took place from January 6 through January 9, 2026 in Las Vegas, Nevada, U.S. across multiple venues. More than 148,000 people attended the event, representing a 4% attendance increase compared to 2025 and making CES 2026 the largest post-pandemic CES. In contrast, the number of exhibitors at CES 2026 declined from 4,500 in 2025 to 4,100.
As automotive technology progresses, in-vehicle entertainment options have become increasingly flexible and capable, especially with advancements in software. At CES 2026, BMW and Mercedes-Benz highlighted various entertainment options for the BMW iX3, Mercedes-Benz GLC and CLA. Afeela showed a new production prototype of its Afeela 1 and a conceptual SUV, both showcasing Sony's expertise in audio and video.
Several suppliers also displayed systems and technologies enhancing the in-vehicle experience. Aumovio (previously known as Continental) showed multiple display and cockpit solutions, while LG Electronics demonstrated three AI-powered display concepts. QNX and Pioneer hosted demonstrations of software-based in-vehicle audio solutions, designed to provide improved audio experiences without extensive hardware. Amazon gave a demonstration of an in-vehicle assistant powered by Alexa+.
This report is the first in a series which highlights automotive content shown at CES 2026. This report will focus on entertainment technologies in vehicles from BMW, Mercedes-Benz, and Afeela. It will also cover infotainment solutions showcased by suppliers including Aumovio, LG Electronics, QNX, Pioneer, and Amazon.
