The fourth CAR Battery Day 2024, organized by CAR - Center Automotive Research, Duisburg - was held from October 1st to 2nd at the OSTRA-DOME in Dresden, Germany.

On the 1st of October the event kicked off with a factory tour at BASF Schwarzheide GmbH, enabled by BASF Battery Materials, and was closed by the CAR Battery Night with high class podium talks on topics such as regional resource extraction, political awareness, China investment opportunities, and competitiveness levers.

The second day was packed with a wide range of lectures covering the whole value chain from cell chemistry and battery materials, over battery components, intelligent manufacturing and last but not least battery lifecycle management and recycling.

During the whole event participants were offered plenty of networking opportunities.

This short event report provides an insight into the BASF Schwarzheide GmbH plant and summarizes a selection of the conference presentations.
