2023/01/24

Summary

The semiconductor shortage, which has been an ongoing issue since early 2021, has become a social problem on a global scale and has had a serious impact on the automotive industry. It is no exaggeration to say that no single automaker has been able to manufacture according to plan in the two years since the problem began, up to the present. Although some in the automotive industry are concerned that this situation will continue for the foreseeable future, the author of this report predicts that the issue will finally be resolved and that the shortage will be eliminated by the end of the first half of 2023. Here the reasoning behind this belief shall be presented.
