Presentations by experts of the China Academy of Engineering

 The Society of Automotive Engineers (SAE) of China Congress & Exhibition (SAECCE2019) was held at the Shanghai Automobile Exhibition Center from October 22 to 24, 2019. This second report is the sequel to the SAE China 2019 (1) report created by MarkLines, and covers the details of the forum technical session presentations given by members of the Chinese Academy of Engineering.

 Connected, autonomous driving, and NEVs (new energy vehicles) have become important topics in the automotive industry in recent years and at the SAECCE2019 many presentations centering on these themes were given, followed by detailed discussions. At the macro-level, Mr. Jun LI, a member of the China Academy of Engineering (and President of the China SAE), proposed a new technological concept related to the development of connected car technology in China, and Professor Zhenpo WANG of the Beijing Institute of Technology gave a presentation on the development direction of NEV technologies. The latest research results by industry experts, university researchers and professors were introduced in concrete terms on the themes of connected car sensing, decision making, technology commercialization, and connected car human-machine interaction, which included presentations on Beijing Autoroad Technology Co., Ltd.’s millimeter wave radar and systems, presentations by representatives of Bosch, ZF, and Faurecia, a presentation on the in-vehicle software and high-precision map development efforts of Wuhan Kotei Informatics Co., Ltd., and presentations by Seikisui Chemical Co., Ltd., Shanghai Jiao Tong University, and Nanyang Technological University in Singapore. This report covers the details of the presentations given that are related to the aforementioned themes.
