Summary

The "27th Automotive Engineering Exposition 2018 Yokohama" (Sponsored by the Society of Automotive Engineers of Japan, Inc., held at the PACIFICO Yokohama exhibition center from May 23 to 25, 2018) was the largest ever with a record number of 597 exhibitors. The exhibition is directed towards technical experts working in the automotive industry to which automakers, parts suppliers, and materials suppliers showcased their latest technologies. Similar to last year's event, many of the products related to electrification. This report focuses on the processing and materials technologies geared towards weight reduction that is becoming increasingly important with regards to vehicle electrification and reducing fuel consumption.
