According to preliminary data compiled by MarkLines as of September 2, 2026, including estimates for GM and Stellantis, U.S. new-vehicle sales in August 2026 totaled 1,382,819 units, down 6.3% year-over-year. August had 26 selling days, one fewer than in the same month last year.
