Isuzu mu-X (Thailand) Supplier & Supply Chain Information

The Thailand-produced Isuzu mu-X is a global 7-passenger midsize SUV that shares its ladder frame with the D-MAX. Production began at the Samrong plant in October 2013, and the current model was launched in November 2020. In June 2024, a facelift was implemented, refreshing both the interior and exterior. In December 2025, Isuzu Thailand announced that cumulative exports of the Thailand-produced D-MAX and mu-X had exceeded approximately 3 million units. Key suppliers include NHK Spring (Thailand) for seats, Seiren (Thailand) for seat fabric, Stanley Electric (Thailand) for head lamps, Autoliv (Thailand) for seat belts, Astemo for stereo cameras, Tsubakimoto Chain (Thailand) for timing chains, Musashi Seimitsu Industry (Thailand) for timing gears, and Transtron (Thailand) for the 3.0L diesel engine ECU.

Launch Schedules for the Isuzu mu-X and Toyota Fortuner: As the mu-X sales approach those of the Fortuner, Toyota plans to introduce an all-new Fortuner in 2027.

BYD Racco Mini EV

On July 28, BYD launched the "Racco"—the first Kei (micro-mini) BEV from an overseas manufacturer—in Japan. It is available in three trim levels, with prices starting at JPY 2.15 million; factoring in the JPY 150,000 CEV subsidy, the starting price is approximately JPY 1.99 million. The company plans to sell 10,000 units annually. Billed as the "world's first SDV (Software-Defined Vehicle) Kei car," it allows for software updates via an onboard SIM. It also marks the first use of the "X-PACK" architecture, which integrates the battery with its control components.
