BYD's "Dolphin", a subcompact hatchback EV in the Ocean Series, utilizes an EV-specific e-platform. It was launched in China in August 2021, in Japan in September 2023, and in Thailand and Europe this summer. Annual sales in 2025 totaled 239,000 units in China, 13,000 units in Europe, and 12,000 units in Thailand.
Core components - including the e-Axle, inverter, traction motor, battery management system (BMS), body domain controller, and battery pack - are manufactured in-house by group companies, while major global suppliers are utilized for safety and control systems (e.g., NVIDIA for ADAS chips, Bosch for ABS, and Musashi Seimitsu Industry for suspension control arms).
