China B-segment (Small Car) Market Launch Schedules
China's B-segment passenger car market (excluding SUVs and covering sedans and hatchbacks) is the smallest among the A- to D-segment markets, reflecting the continued expansion of SUV demand. In recent years, the segment has been led by affordable EVs priced below CNY 100,000, including the BYD Dolphin, Geely Galaxy Xingyuan, and Wuling Bingo. Chinese automakers are expected to further accelerate the globalization of B-segment EVs.

Supply chain: Geely "Xingyuan" Small Hatchback EV
Geely's Galaxy-branded B-segment hatchback EV, the Xingyuan, was launched in China in October 2024 and is now sold in ASEAN, South America, and Europe. Alongside BYD's A-segment hatchback "Dolphin Mini" and SAIC-GM-Wuling's A-segment hatchback EV "Hongguang MINI", it has become one of the most popular models in the global small EV market. From January to June 2026, monthly sales averaged approximately 42,000 units in China, 2,100 units in ASEAN, and 2,500 units in Brazil. The Xingyuan is produced at Geely's Xiangtan Plant and Chengdu BMA Plant in China, as well as at the Handal plant in Purwakarta, Indonesia.
The 11-in-1 electric drive system is supplied by Geely-affiliated companies Global Intelligent Power Technologies and InfiMotion Technology. Drive batteries are supplied by CATL and EVE Power, brake systems by Zhejiang Shuangli Automobile Intelligent Technology, and ADAS by Chongqing Qianli Zhijia Technology, reflecting Geely's reliance on leading Chinese suppliers for key components.
