Supply chain: BYD "Sealion 6" PHEV

BYD's C-segment SUV plug-in hybrid (PHEV), the "Sealion 6" (known as the "Song Plus" in China), combines a 1.5L 4-cylinder gasoline engine with a single drive motor. The system's maximum output is 238 kW, and maximum torque is 550 Nm. It was launched in China in March 2021. Overseas, it is sold in South America, including Brazil, and was launched in Japan in December 2025. Global sales totaled approximately 160,000 units from January to June 2026, of which about 30,000 were sold outside China. In Japan, 1,254 units were sold. Production takes place at facilities such as the Xi'an plant in China. Local production is scheduled to begin in 2026 at the Camaçari plant in Brazil. In addition to in-house production of core components such as the e-Axle, engine, and battery, the VCU (Vehicle control unit) is supplied by United Automotive Electronic Systems, and the window glass is supplied by Fuyao glass, among major domestic suppliers in China. Meanwhile, the vehicle also incorporates components from global suppliers, such as the occupant detection system from Valeo and the monocular camera from Bosch.

BYD's Suppliers in China (including indirect transactions)
The key characteristics of Chinese suppliers doing business with BYD are a hybrid structure that combines a strong in-house, vertically integrated supply system centered on “FinDreams” with active sales to global automakers, including competitors. This enables BYD to enhance its cost competitiveness, while allowing its suppliers to achieve economies of scale and gain technical and product-development feedback through supplying other automakers.

Exploring Suppliers of Heater-Related Components

The Parts Manufacturer Database can be used not only to research company information, but also to identify potential new business partners. Here, we introduce how the Parts Manufacturer Database can be used to explore suppliers, using automotive heaters as an example. In addition to searching by module, the database allows searches at the component level, including heater cores and heater control units. It also enables users to specify heaters for electrified vehicles, such as PTC heaters. By combining criteria such as region, customers, and country of capital, users can efficiently identify suppliers that meet their specific requirements. The Parts Manufacturer Database can support sales and research activities, including new customer development and market research.
