History

1995	Entered into a joint venture with Johnson Controls Holding Company Inc., USA for designing, developing, engineering, manufacturing in India and selling complete automotive seating for customers in India and abroad.
1997	Formed the following joint venture companies; -Tata Toyo Radiator Pvt. Ltd. with Toyo Radiator Co., Ltd. (Currently T. RAD) and Mitsubishi Corp. -Tata Yazaki AutoComp Pvt. Ltd. with Yazaki Corp. Japan. -Tata Nifco Fasteners Pvt. Ltd. with Nifco Inc.
1997	Invested in JBM Tools Ltd. (jointly with Tata Industries Ltd.) with Mr. S.K. Arya, the promoter of JBM Tools Ltd. The Company was renamed Automotive Stampings and Assemblies Ltd. on August 1, 2003.
2000	Automotive Composite Systems (International Pvt. Ltd.)* was incorporated as a joint venture with Owens Corning, USA. This Company is currently a subsidiary of the Company and has been renamed TACOCL on March 5, 2010.
2000	Entered into a joint venture with Yutaka Giken, Japan and incorporated Tata Yutaka AutoComp Pvt. Ltd. for the business of complete solution in design development and manufacture of exhaust systems to the entire automotive industry.
2002	Entered into a joint venture with Knorr Bremse Far East Ltd., China for the manufacture of air braking systems in the company, Knorr Bremse Systems for Commercial Vehicles (India) Pvt. Ltd.
2004	Formed a joint venture with Faurecia Automotive Holdings, France and incorporated TACO Faurecia Design Center Pvt. Ltd. for providing design services for interior system components in automotive sector.
2004	Pursuant to a scheme of arrangement and amalgamation, Tata Auto Plastic Systems Ltd., a wholly subsidiary was amalgamated into the Company with effect from April 1, 2004.
2005	Acquired of Wundsch Weidinger GmbH, Germany.
2005	Entered into a joint venture with MobiApps Holdings Pvt. Ltd., Singapore and incorporated a company named TACO MobiApps Telematics Ltd. on February 25, 2005.
2005	Entered into a joint venture with Visteon International Holding Inc., USA and incorporated Tata Visteon Automotive Pvt. Ltd. and TACO Visteon Engineering Pvt. Ltd. both on June 21, 2005 for manufacturing and dealing in powertrain and lighting products and design and development of automotive components respectively.
2005	Entered into a joint venture with GS Yuasa International Ltd., Japan and incorporated Tata AutoComp GY Batteries Pvt. Ltd. on October 10, 2005.
2006	Entered a joint venture with Hendrickson International Corporation, USA and incorporated of TACO Hendrickson Suspensions Pvt. Ltd. on June 23, 2006.
2006	Gestamp Servicios, S.L. invested in Automotive Stampings and Assemblies Ltd.
2006	Sold the entire stake held by the Company in Tata Yutaka AutoComp Pvt. Ltd. to Yutaka Giken, Japan.
2006	Pursuant to the resolution dated October 26, 2006 passed by the member of Tata Nifco Fasteners Ltd. (TNFL), TNFL decided to voluntarily wind up under the provisions of the Companies Act on account of suspension of its business since 2006.
2008	One of the Company's joint ventures, TJCAL entered into a joint venture with ISRINGHAUSEN GmbH & Co. KG and incorporated ISRI TJC Pvt. Ltd. on October 16, 2008.
2009	Divested shareholding in Technical Stampings and Automotive Ltd.
2009	Divested stake in Taco Faurecia Design Center Pvt. Ltd.
2009	Acquired stake from IPM Inc. in Automotive Composite Systems (International) Ltd. currently known as TACOCL. TACOCL became a wholly owned subsidiary of the Company.
2010	Divested stake in Knorr Bremse Systems for Commercial Vehicles (India) Pvt. Ltd. to third party.
2010	Acquired entire stake of Automotive Stampings and Assemblies Ltd. from Gestamp Servicios, S.L.
2012	Divested entire stake in Tata Yazaki AutoComp Limited (TYA) to Yazaki Corporation.
2013	Divested entire stake in Tata Johnson Controls Automotive (TJCAL) to Johnson Controls.
Dec. 2013	Formed 50/50 joint venture with Air International Thermal Systems through its joint venture with T.RAD Co., Ltd., Tata Toyo Radiator.
Sep. 2014	Singed a agreement to form a 50/50 seating system manufacturing joint venture with Magna International Inc.
Oct. 2014	Agreed to establish a 50/50 joint venture with Mexico-based Katcon Global to produce exhaust systems.
