Business Overview
-An independently operated oil-seal manufacturer that is not under the umbrella of any group conglomerate. The automotive market accounts for 47.4% of the Company’s sales, which is the largest percentage. Nevertheless, in the fiscal year that ended in March 2021, the Company sold products for construction equipment, agricultural equipment, and electronic devices. According to the Company’s data, its share of oil seals in the domestic market is 70% and it is 50% in the global market. In addition, the Company claims that it has the largest market share of flexible-printed-circuit (FPC) boards not only in Japan but also the world. In 1960, it formed a business alliance with Europe’s largest oil-seal manufacturer, Freudenberg, based in Germany. The Company boasts a global supply network that incudes Japan, the Americas, Europe, and Asia. In recent years, it has started to engage in new business areas such as automotive electrification and self-driving.
-The Company’s business is organized into the following four business segments: seals, electronic devices, rolls, and other. The seal business manufactures and sells seals to the automotive industry; construction-equipment industry; and general, industrial-equipment industry. The electronic parts business supplies electronic parts such as flexible-printed-circuit boards to the electronics and automotive industries.
