Business Overview

-The Company is the Chinese subsidiary of France-based major automotive components supplier, Faurecia SE. In 1992, Faurecia entered the Chinese market. Faurecia (China) Holding Co., Ltd. was established in 2008.

-As of Dec. 31, 2022, the Company has 65 plants, 11 R&D Centers and 6 Technology Centers. There are 20,400 employees in China, of which 2100 are engineers.

-The sales in the Chinese market reached EUR 5,377.1 million in 2022, a year-over-year increase of 72.5%.

-On January 31, 2022, Faurecia completed the acquisition of 79.5% of the shares of Hella GmbH & Co. KGaA (Hella). The new combined group, named FORVIA, will form six business units, including Interiors, Seating, Electronics, Clean Mobility, Lighting, and Lifecycle Solutions. Faurecia and Hella will continue to operate as two separate legal entities. At FORVIA, both companies will retain their respective legal names, Faurecia SE and Hella GmbH & Co. KGaA, and they will communicate and be known under the FORVIA name. Products will continue to be sold and distributed under their existing brands.

History

1992 Faurecia entered into Chinese market.
1994

Faurecia Tongda Exhaust Systems Co., Ltd., Faurecia's first China-based joint venture plant, is established in Wuhan to provide exhaust control technology products to Dongfeng Peugeot-Citroen Automobile.

2002

Changchun Faurecia Xuyang Automotive Seatings Co., Ltd., the first joint venture plant of Faurecia in China, is established to provide front seats to FAW-VW.

2005 Faurecia (Changchun) Automotive Systems Co., Ltd., the first joint venture plant of Faurecia Interior Systems in China, is established to provide interior systems to FAW-VW.
Aug. 2005 Faurecia (Shanghai) Management Co., Ltd., as well as an R&D center was established in Shanghai, focused on research and development of seating, interior and exhaust control systems.
Aug. 2008 Faurecia (China) Holding Co., Ltd. is founded in Shanghai.
2011 The first joint venture plant of Faurecia Automotive Exteriors in China is established in Changchun, to provide exterior systems to FAW-VW.
Apr. 2011 Faurecia Emissions Control Technologies established its new R&D center in China.
Mar. 2013 Faurecia China established its new Tech Center and Headquarters in Shanghai.
Mar. 2015 Faurecia S.A. and Dongfeng Hongtai, a majority-owned subsidiary of Dongfeng Motor Corporation, jointly established a 50-50 joint venture "Dongfeng Faurecia Automotive Interior Co., Ltd.”
Oct. 2015 Faurecia S.A. and Beijing WKW Automotive Parts Co. Ltd., a Chinese interior and exterior trim systems manufacturer, signed a 50/50 joint-venture agreement to create an entity named Beijing WKW-FAD Automotive Interior Parts Co. Ltd. (BWKWFAD).
Nov. 2015 Dongfeng Faurecia Automotive Interior Company began constructing a plant in the Wuhan Economic & Technological Development Zone.
Dec. 2015 Faurecia Emissions Control Technologies held groundbreaking ceremony for new China headquarters and R&D Center building.
Mar. 2016 Faurecia Exhaust System (Shanghai) Co., Ltd. was established.
Aug. 2016 Chongqing Faurecia Changpeng Automotive Parts Co., Ltd. was established by Faurecia and Chongqing Changpeng Industry (Group) Co., Ltd.
Oct. 2016 Faurecia Yinlun Exhaust Control Technology (Weifang) Co., Ltd. was planned to be established by Faurecia and Shandong Yinlun Heat Exchange System Co., Ltd.
Nov. 2016 Faurecia (Tianjin) Automotive Systems Co., Ltd. was established in China by Faurecia and Borgward (Germany).
Jul. 2017 Faurecia Yinlun Exhaust Control Technology (Weifang) Co., Ltd. was established by Faurecia and Dongfeng Motor Parts And Components Group Co., Ltd.
Oct. 2017 Shenzhen Faurecia Automotive Parts Co., Ltd. was established by Faurecia and BYD.
Nov. 2017 Faurecia Liuzhou Automotive Seating Co., Ltd. was established by Faurecia and Liuzhou Wuling.
Oct. 2018 Faurecia (Liuzhou) Emissions Control Technologies Co., Ltd. was established by Faurecia and Liuzhou Wuling Automotive Industry Co., Ltd., in China.
Mar. 2019 Completed acquisition of Clarion Co., Ltd., an automotive electronics company providing systems such as navigation, audio, ADAS, driver monitoring and cockpit domain controllers.
Apr. 2020 Changchun Faurecia Xuyang Display Technology Co., Ltd. was established by Faurecia and Changchun Xuyang Industry (Group).
May. 2020 Faurecia officially announced that it has established the Faurecia Clarion Electronics Chongqing R&D Headquarters in the Liang New Area of Chongqing.
Jan. 2021 Faurecia has completed the acquisition of Beijing BAI DAS Automotive System Co., Ltd. and established a joint venture, Beijing BAIC Faurecia Automotive Systems.

May. 2021 On April 30, 2021 Faurecia successfully completed the final closing of its acquisition of CLD.
Jan. 2022 The “Cockpit of the Future” has been transferred to Shanghai by Faurecia.
Feb. 2022 Faurecia successfully completed the acquisition of a controlling stake in Hella on January 31, 2022. The combined new group will be named "FORVIA".
Feb. 2022 Faurecia Clarion Electronics officially broke ground on its "Factory of the Future" to be built in Fengcheng.
