Business Highlights

Overview

-The Company launched a plant construction project in Zhuzhou, Hunan Province in a move to expand its presence into southern China. In addition to supplying its products to the Beijing Automotive Group, it has been increasing its business with other Chinese automakers as well. At the end of 2013, the Company finished the second phase construction project in Zhuzhou Industrial Park.

Contracts

-The Company has been awarded a new contract to supply mechanical steering column assemblies to Beijing Benz. The steering columns will be used on vehicles based on the MRA platform as well as on New Generation Compact Cars such as the X156. The product life of the steering column assemblies is nine years. Demand for the products is expected be 1.71 million units, and sales are forecast to reach approximately CNY 900 million. (From a press release on December 18, 2013)

-Yanfeng Visteon (Beijing) Automotive Trim Systems Co., Ltd., a joint venture between the Company and Visteon, announced that its automotive interior parts have been chosen for installation on the Beijing Benz GLA-Class (X156), which is scheduled for release in March 2015. Hainachuan Beijing Branch’s first wheel product which supplies to Beiqi own brand “C70G” rolls off assembly line. As the second production line goes into operation, the Company’s wheel module production capacity will be 360 sets per day. It will be successfully supporting to Beiqi own brand such as C70, C60, C50, B40, E150EV and other models.

Awards

-On April 28, 2013, the Company received the Outstanding Production Management Award from Beijing Automobile. For Beijing Hainachuan, it was the 13th straight time that it earned an award from Beijing Automobile. (From a press release, April 30, 2013)

-Beijing BAI Lear Automotive Systems Co., Ltd. and Beinei Camshafts Factory, subsidiaries of the Company, received the Excellent Supplier Award from Beijing Benz. (From a press release, April 28, 2013)

Acquire Certification

-Beijing Beiqi Mould & Plastic Technology Co., Ltd., a subsidiary of the Company, acquired both the ISO14001 environmental management certification and the OHSAS18001 occupational health and safety management certification. (From news releases issued by multiple sources on August 26, 2013)

Pass the Test

R&D

Recent development

-In 2010, the Company’s subsidiary, Beijing BAI Lear Automotive Systems Co., Ltd., successfully developed two seats for Beiqi own brand C70G and C50E. In March 2013, the seats for C70G have been put into batch production while seats for C50E would be put into production within this year.

-The Company’s subsidiary, Yanfeng Visteon (Beijing) Automotive Trim Systems Co., Ltd., obtained instrument panel design and manufacturing business from Beiqi for its own brand C60F, C50E, B80V and C61 models. It is also responsible for design and manufacturing instrument panel of Beiqi Foton’s project U201.

-The Company’s subsidiary, Beijing Hainachuan Yanfeng Automotive Module Systems Co., Ltd., is responsible for synchronization R & D and supplying cockpit modules and headliner modules for Beiqi own brand C70G, C60F and C50E.

-The Company, through the opportunity and additional freedom from BAIC developing its own vehicles such as the C70, was able to focus on the R&D and product launch of various automotive modules. These modules included front and rear suspension modules, cockpit modules, bumper modules, tire modules, exhaust modules, and front-end cooling modules. These module projects were completed by separate Company subsidiaries including as Beijing Asia-Pacific Chassis, Yanfeng Visteon (Beijing), Tenneco (Bejing) Ride Control System, Beijing Beiqi Mould & Plastic Technology, and Hainachuan Beijing Branch.

Investment Activities

Investment in China

-On December 18, 2012, the Beijing Automotive Group and Taian Qicheng Wheel Manufacturing Co., Ltd. signed an agreement regarding construction of a new plant to produce wheel hubs in Taishan, Taiaan City, Shandong Province. The Beijing Automotive Group is the parent company of the Company. The new facility, Beiqi Hainachuan Wheel, will be constructed on 260,000 square meters of land, involving an investment of 3 billion yuan in total. Approximately 800 million yuan is invested in the first phase to install two production lines and other equipment. Based on its 12th 5-year business plan for 2011-2015, the company aims to increase its production capacity for wheel hubs to 10 million units a year, looking to generate 5 billion yuan in sales.
