R&D Activities
Hybrid-vehicle components-The Company developed components for use in power control units. In the area of pressure boosting devices and power supply systems, the company developed new products by applying its new primary insulation coating technology to materials used for irregularly shaped coiled and foamed products, which are the Company's area of expertise. The Company also worked on developing technology to mass-produce secondary insulation coated products.
Functional precision materials/components
-In the area of steel wires for valve springs, the Company developed an advanced heat treatment technology, which can more than double the level of productivity in the patenting process by using existing production equipment. It is now working on developing mass-production methods in finding ways to put these methods into practical use.
-The Company is developing highly productive and cost-efficient technology to manufacture materials used on irregularly shaped components. It is undertaking this by combining its expertise in producing precision shaped components with its high-speed stamping method that it recently developed.
-The Company is developing ultra high-strength springs in the area of functional precision components by combining nitriding treatment and shot-peening treatment technologies. The Company has already reached a stage where fatigue strength can be improved by 7 percent.
