New factory

-The Company held a groundbreaking ceremony for its new Heqing Plant in the Shanghai Zhangjiang Hi-Tech Park on January 15, 2016. The new plant will be constructed on 116,200 square meters of land, and will produce automotive air conditioners and compressors. The company will invest approximately CNY 1 billion in this project, which will be carried out in two phases. The first phase is expected to be completed in February 2017. Acquisition

-In 2018, the Company acquired a 35% stake in Shanghai Sanden Automobile Air Conditioning Co., Ltd. (hereinafter referred to as “Shanghai Sanden”) from Japan Sanden. After the transaction was completed, Shanghai Sanden became a wholly-owned subsidiary of Huayu Sanden. (From Huayu Automotive's 2018 annual report)

Contract

-In 2018, the Company received supply orders for Shanghai Passenger Car's "ei5", SAIC Volkswagen's “Lavida EV", Volvo's "XC60 hybrid", Great Wall Motor's "P8 hybrid" and other models. Awards

-On March 23, 2018, the Company received an excellent supplier award at the 8th suppliers meeting of SAIC MAXUS Automotive. (From a press release on March 26, 2018)

R&D Facilities

-The Company has a Technical Center with around 200 staff, which consists of the product engineering department and the test center.

-Shanghai Behr Thermal System Co., Ltd., a subsidiary of the Company, has a development team and test center forcooling, heat exchange and air-conditioning systems. There are about 150 engineers engaged in the R&D activities.

Other

-In December 2016, Sanden Huayu Automotive Air Conditioning Co., Ltd. signed an exclusive contract with the Sanden Holdings Group for licensing of the BP-GEN3 electric compressor technology. The BP-GEN3 electric compressor is compact and lightweight, while achieving high efficiency over a wide range of applications. The compressor meets technical standards for Volkswagen's MQB platform and other technologies. In addition, Sanden Huayu Automotive Air Conditioning's SEE series electric compressors that were developed in-house by the company are scheduled to be mass produced, starting in 2017.
